Get away from it all at this gorgeous cabin retreat in an Aspen grove, right next to Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park! This tranquil home began its first life as a ranger’s cabin, and was moved to this location and updated to fit up to 8 people with 2 bedrooms, a loft, and a spacious living room with pull-out sofa. Warm your feet by the fireplace after a long day of skiing, or sit on the back patio to watch the sun set over the mountains after hiking… there’s nowhere else as peaceful!
The cabin is a rustic retreat in a peaceful neighborhood above Shadow Mountain Lake, with details and beautiful hardwood from the original ranger’s cabin built in 1938. We think it’s one of the most beautiful and homey places in the world, and we think you will too! There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds, and the third bedroom is a loft with a queen and double bed which is partially open above the living room and accessible with a ladder. The living room also has a pull-out couch with a queen bed, and a cozy wood-burning fireplace.
The neighborhood is peaceful and allows for miles of walking amongst aspens and tall pines. The Roadhouse Bar & Restaurant (a great local dive) is right down the road, and the town of Grand Lake with restaurants, shops, boat rentals, and kayaking is only 5 minutes away. Just beyond that is the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, with endless hiking, nature, and wildlife year-round. Grand Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, and endless hiking and country country skiing/snowshoeing trails are just a few minutes away. Winter Park Ski Resort is 30-40 minutes, and Granby Ranch Ski Resort is 15 minutes away. Shadow Mountain Lake, Lake Granby, and Grand Lake are all within just a few minutes! The cabin is roughly 2 hours from Denver.
Note: there is no firing of any weapons, or lighting of any campfires or fireworks allowed on the property or in the neighborhood. Thank you in advance for keeping our community safe! 2 pets maximum are allowed with a pet fee of $25/night each.
