Houghton Lake offers a variety of outdoor activities to enjoy all year round. Of course in the warmer months there is the obvious water activities, boating, jet skiing, and fishing. Early in the month of August the historic Limberlost restaurant hosts its annual Bud Bash water festival. There are also several beautiful golf courses to enjoy, as well as a local disc golf course. Staying in our cottage allows all of this right in your backyard. Our private dock allows you the ability to walk right onto your boat and enjoy a day of fun in the sun.
When the leaves begin to fall, the hunters come out. The area offers plenty of public land that is open to hunters. You'll also find this is the time the four wheeler's tend to come out to play as well.
As the snow begins to pile up and the temperature drops you'll see the shanties start to pop up. The colder months bring the ice fisherman out and with our property you can walk right out to your shanty straight from our back door. In late January Houghton Lake put on its yearly ice fishing festival Tip Up Town USA and its held only a block away from our cottage. These cold months is when you'll see the snowmobiles speeding across the lake. When the lakes completely frozen you can ride your sled across all 5 miles of the lakes width or 10 miles in length. With our property your able to walk out of the warmth of the cottage and onto the ice in just a stones throw.
