Hacked Stay
I never booked this property and never stepped foot inside. My account was hacked and this reservation accepted by the owner or property manager. I realized it when I received check out instructions from the host. I immediately contacted the host and informed him this was fraud and that I am not there and knew nothing about this reservation. I do not know who stayed in the unit.
He was not concerned at all. He said he had video of the people but didn’t seem to care that I have zero clue who any of the individuals are who are staying in the property. He would not answer my phone calls. He barely even responded back through the VRBO messaging app. He didn’t want to call the police or do anything. I guess because it was already paid for out of my credit card and One Key Cash.
I escalated it to VRBO and I will dispute this with my credit card company. I can only assume this host is connected with the individuals because why would a host not care at all that fraudulent “guests” are in his home. They could destroy the house and do who knows what and he would have no way to know who they are. That didn’t seem to worry this host at all which is why I think he was part of it. I would not book this unit. It is not well managed and the owner will not answer the phone even in a serious situation.
