While Bears Gone Fishing offers a secluded mountain escape, it's conveniently situated just 2.5 miles from the turnoff to Ski Apache and Ruidoso Winter Park, perfect for winter sports enthusiasts. Additionally, it's only 2 miles from Cedar Creek trails or Alto Lake and 8 miles from Ruidoso's vibrant Midtown and Grindstone Lake, offering a variety of recreational activities year-round.

Accessibility and Winter Precautions:
Roads throughout the neighborhood are paved, making access easy year-round. While some areas around Ruidoso and Alto are hilly to mountainous, they are generally navigable throughout the year. During the winter months, guests are encouraged to have access to 4-wheel drive and/or snow chains in case of major winter weather events. For extended stays, travel insurance is always recommended to ensure peace of mind during your mountain retreat.
