Built in the 1940's, this lovely 2 bedroom beach cottage is typical to the Cape Cod area. This cottage is the quintessential beach cottage and is ideal for a family of four or 2 couples. Located in the picturesque town of Wellfleet, it is a 10 minute drive to the National Seashore and less than a mile to the bay side of Indian Neck Beach.
The cottage has hard wood flooring and cathedral ceilings made of wood with lovely lighting from the sky lights. There is a small, well stocked kitchen including a coffee maker, electric stove and microwave. There is indoor dining for 4 or outdoor dining on the deck. You can enjoy cocktails on the deck whilst grilling some fish from the local Wellfleet market or lay in the hammock under the trees for an after beach snooze. There is newly renovated bathroom with a shower and gorgeous sink made from local wood, adding to the charm of the cottage. There is Wi-Fi and a TV for your enjoyment, with a Roku stick allowing you access to any of your prescription channels. After you spend a day at the beach (beach chairs provided) there is nothing better than washing off the sea salt and sand in the spacious, enclosed outdoor shower.
This cottage is located in Pilgrim Acres which is a quiet community of 7 cottages originating in Truro and then moved to Wellfleet in the 1960's. Compass Rose Cottage is located off the main road, down a quiet lane and away from the other cottages. You can catch a glimpse of a wild rabbit and wake up to the sound of the beautiful local birds. Chipman's Cove is a 5 minute walk down the road where you can paddle board or kayak. The Cape Cod Bike Trail is located on the other side of Route 6 and there is a bike rental shop only a 5 minute drive away. Wellfleet town center is a 10 minute drive with access to local shops, antiques, art galleries and restaurants. The Wellfleet Harbor is a further 5 minute drive with a fish market, restaurants and live music in the summer months. The Wellfleet Drive-in Theatre and Flea Market are another 10 minute drive heading back towards Hyannis.
Provincetown is a 15 mile drive where you can enjoy the restaurants, art galleries, shops and night life. If you are looking for something different you can head out on a whale watch and catch site of humpback and finback whales.
Please note this cottage is 444 square feet and very cozy. If you are looking for a great deal and want to spend most time at the beach or exploring what the cape has to offer, this is ideal for you. It has the rustic charm of what most people refer to as ''the old Cape Cod'' (though with the modern convenience of Wi-Fi and a TV).
