Sewage backed up in tub; dangerous ice on driveway & stairs
My son and I (and our wives) were all set to spend a couple of relaxing nights close to the slopes at Snow Summit and booked this property (Managed by Big Bear Experiences, Bryan Salinas): 786 Summit Blvd., Unit B.
The untreated ice buildup on the driveway and stairs was treacherous, but if that had been the only issue, that would have been OK to deal with. It was when RAW SEWAGE backed up into the tub when my wife was starting to shower the next morning that the proverbial “s**t hit the fan.” We were NOT going to stay another night. (We ran into the neighboring guests from Unit A that morning and they reported the same issues!) Clearly, ongoing proper maintenance was lacking.
Fortunately - and to his great credit - the CEO of BBE, Bryan, after seeing the PHOTOS of the tub 2" deep in sewage - was appropriately appalled and apologetic and - after some checking around - offered to put us up at the adjacent property.
We had to repack everything (food, clothing etc) and switched over to 774-B next door by 10:30 am. Not the best way to start our day! The whole process cost us a precious 3 hours of lost time on the slopes, but at least Bryan made it up to us by moving us to a larger, nicer, - and CLEANER - space for our 2nd night there. 5 Stars! BBE contracts most properties near Snow Summit, so I hope this experience motivates them to improve their maintenance procedures, Otherwise they will have to change their name to BBBE: BAD Big Bear Experiences.
