Camp Karibu is your ultimate vacation base camp with high peaks views that just can't be captured in the pictures! Perfect location with the privacy of a luxury lodge within easy walking distance to the lake (2 min), village, restaurants and shops (5-10 min). Classic four-story lodge boasts 6,000+ sq. ft. for your perfect getaway. Newly installed A/C on the main level & in primary bedroom suite, cozy radiant floor heating throughout and large gas fireplace in the living room.
Spacious gourmet kitchen with 6-burner gas stove is perfect for family culinary adventures. Fully stocked with kitchenware, oils, spices and everything needed to inspire your inner chef. Butler's pantry serves as a coffee/espresso station. Treat yourself to a cappuccino with our Nespresso & frother, have a quick Keurig on the go or brew a whole pot for the early risers. Grill with your family on our deck and enjoy meals in the formal dining room - or better yet, on our screened, rustic dining porch.
We offer five luxurious bedrooms: two king suites, one king bedroom & queen bedroom that share a connecting full bath and one bedroom with two twin beds (see layout in pictures). All bedrooms include high-end linens, additional blankets and a variety of pillows to choose from. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other necessities located in the linen closet.
Two large family rooms & a game room with ping pong and foosball for fun, relaxation and a little healthy competition. Loads of puzzles and board games as well as badminton and corn hole for outdoor contests! Solo fire pit for low-smoke campfires and s'mores. Bookshelves full of kids' books, cookbooks and novels for every reader in your group. Use our floats to lounge on the lake, or in the winter, take a sled down the hills of the golf course outside your back door. New 65" Sony Smart TV in the main living room, 55" Smart TV in the lower level living room and Smart TV in the primary suite.
Access the most amazing mountain biking trails in the Adirondacks just across the golf course (Lussi & Logger trails). Ponds and other natural features along the course make walking the Lake Placid Club property a natural adventure (golfing or not!). Spot beavers, geese, ducks, deer and more.

Awesome Family Vacation

Our family(7 of us) could not asked for a more spectacular and exceedingly comfortable vacation staying in this luxurious home. The home offered all the necessary amenities and then some. Wonderful house in a fabulous location

My family of 5 loved this house! Everything was perfect. My teens loved the game room, the ping pong table was a huge hit. The kitchen was stocked with spices and cleaning supplies. The location of the house might have been the best part. We were a short walk to Main Street and Mirror Lake Drive. We had an amazing trip and hope to book this house again.

Camp GMB meets Camp Karibu

The description of this house does not do it justice. It was everything and more. Absolutely beautiful property and home. The owners thought of everything. The views were beautiful, the outside beautifully lit with Christmas lights. Three floors with enough bathrooms for 13 women 35-40 years old. I can’t begin to tell you how refreshing the steam shower was…. We were sad to leave and are hoping to return back to this house again. Thank you for hosting us!

The BEST of Lake Placid!!

WOW!!! Camp Karibu is one of the best homes in Lake Placid! We travel each fall with our family of ten and have tried a number of rentals in the area. The family has gone the extra mile to ensure their guests are comfortable. While the weekend was rainy, we spent a lot of time drinking coffee and sitting in the cozy reading nook. When the sun finally appeared, we were taken with the stunning views! The family loved being able to walk out the door to golf or walk around the lake. We were impressed with the well-appointed kitchen and amenities. The owner took time to talk through our questions in advance and checked in during our stay. We loved the home so much that we booked it again for our winter trip. Thank you Megan and family for your hospitality. We look forward to our next visit!

It doesn't get more perfect!

This house was amazing. We had family and a few teens with us and the kids enjoyed walking to town and having their own space to get away in the basement. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The view is amazing and the owners were responsive to every question. We've rented many houses in the past, and this, was by far, the best house we've rented. There is so much to do in this area, we were all sad to leave.

The house is beautiful inside and out! It is well appointed with both kitchen amenities as well as bathroom toiletries etc. there is the perfect amount of room for several families to spread out but still be able to gather for meals games etc. Megan is a wonderful and attentive host. Above and beyond

This was a last minute booking, we came 2 families of friends, with no explanation and we’re blown away. The property is beautiful and comfortable. It looks like the owner thought of everything to make sure will feel at home. Soft towels, perfect beds. Many spots to sit and relax in front of the breath taking view and to top it all out. Gorgeous kitchen equipped with everything you need to make gourmet food. Location is great, you can walk to the lake. Megan and Scott thanks for your generosity and opportunity to create wonderful memories, we are definitely coming back.

The Perfect Week!

This was by far the best family vacation in a VRBO or similar type property. The home was perfect for our family and we felt like it was our home away from home. Thanksgiving 2032

A group of 3 families come to LP every few years for thanksgiving, usually staying in a hotel and going to Mirror Lake Inn for dinner. We decided to rent a large home and cook dinner there. This home exceeded all our expectations. It was big, comfortable, modern yet rustic. The views out the windows were spectacular. There were lots of places for the kids to get lost, but also plenty of space for when all 12 of us wanted to watch a movie. We cooked a huge meal and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The butler pantry/ coffee bar area was perfect , lots of cooking supplies in the pantry. The radiant heat in the floors made for toasty feet. We walked onto Main Street quite often, as it took about 10 minutes (3 minute walk to lake). It was the best trip to LP we’ve all ever had and we’d love to come back again!

Girls getaway weekend

The house was gorgeous! The location was great and we walked to most activities. We ziplined and rode the gondola up to the ski jump. The Lake Placid boat ride was a lot of fun, too! We definitely will return to this home.

Fantastic home!

We had a fantastic stay at Camp Karibu. Everything about the house was excellent. Location was great with a nice short walk to mirror lake and town. The views were amazing. The house was generously sized with plenty of room to spread out. It was very clean and tastefully furnished. The house has a neat history being part of the Lake Placid Lodges and has a long history with fun information and articles posted on the walls. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking at the house. Drip coffee maker, nepresso machine and Keurig for all your coffee needs. Plenty of bathrooms and linens available. It’s a rental home so be sure to bring your own personal bath products. Solo stove, ADK chairs, sledding all right outside. The photos are very accurate. Megan is very responsive to questions and provided cell phone upon check in to contact her as needed. Definitely recommend this home and we will likely book again ourselves.

Our family is anchored in Washington, DC, but we spend as much time as we can at Camp Karibu. Megan grew up in Lake Placid, and the Club property is as much of a true home as any we know. We hope you enjoy Camp Karibu as much as us, our twin boys and our perfect pup Fritzy do!

5 BR, 5 1/2 Bath Fully-Renovated Historic Lake Placid Club Cottage on 45-Hole Golf Course. Camp Karibu is one of the few remaining and most spectacular of the original Lake Placid Club cottages. The primary bedroom level includes a main suite with a king bed, separate sitting room, large closet area and full bath with two sinks and a steam shower. Enjoy sweeping, unobstructed mountain views from both the bedroom and sitting room. Also on this level are two bedrooms (one king & one queen), which share a Jack-N-Jill full bath with two sinks and a shower. Also off these 2 bedrooms is a screened sleeping porch with a full bed. Think of the naps with treehouse vibes! This porched is glassed in but unheated during the colder months. Finally on this level is a bedroom with two twin beds and another full bath with a bathtub/shower combo.

The lower level features a king bedroom with a full bath with shower. This bedroom is accessible without climbing stairs, and there are driveways that access both this lower level and the main level of Karibu. There is another full bath on the 4th floor with a bathtub/shower combo and a powder room on the main level. In all, there is at least one bathroom on each of the four levels.

Karibu has main level and lower level living rooms and a game room with a ping pong table. The gourmet kitchen is well equipped and features a butler's pantry with a coffee station. There is also a gas grill on the balcony. The two queen bedrooms have desks to accommodate remote work or gaming. There's also a desk in the sitting room off the kitchen. At Karibu, we provide the highest-speed internet offered, Spectrum cable TV and 3 smart TVs.

Karibu offers the best of all offerings - cross country ski, sled or golf just outside the back door, walk 3 minutes to Mirror Lake, drive15 minutes to Whiteface Mtn. or easily bike to the Lussi and Loggers mountain biking trails on the other side of the course.
