Great house great location

We were adult family members in town to visit our mother. Really comfortable house with a lot of space. Centrally located. Would highly recommend.

Excellent, but does not sleep advertised number

This is a beautiful, large home in a fabulous location, but we were frustrated to discover that, despite being advertised as "sleeps 10", it does not, in fact, sleep 10. In fairness, the listing only describes beds for 8, but we assumed that there was something not listed (pull out couch, air mattress, etc) for the last two. Sadly, there was not. The owners were responsive, but two in our group still had to sleep on the floor for our stay. There were also not enough plates or silverware, even for 8. This was remedied the following day. All that being said, we would gladly return with a smaller group or our own air mattresses.

Wonderful home

We loved the house and the neighborhood! Easy walk to downtown and the neighborhood is peaceful and lovely. Great for our group of 8. We cooked a big dinner in the kitchen and found everything that we needed there.

a perfect home for a Middlebury weekend

What's not to love about this perfect Middlebury gem? It's in a great neighborhood and just a short walk to campus. The home is thoughtfully appointed. Communication with our host was fantastic. We would love to come back in the future!

Beautiful house in a great neighborhood close to Middlebury downtown and college. The accommodations were perfect for our family. Our daughter was married at a local venue. Perfect weekend!

Great house for a family reunion.

We were in town for a family reunion and my uncles 80th birthday. Our family of ten used this house as our home base for the weekend and we were not disappointed. The house is deceptively spacious and super comfortable. A special shout-out to Susannah for investing in really good mattresses as we all slept great. The location is an easy walk to town or to the college campus. We were all very sad to leave and would definitely rent this house again if and when we return to Middlebury.

Lovely stay in a lovely house in a lovely town

We were five older women spending time cycling around the Middlebury area. The property was perfect for us in that it accommodated all of us, allowed us to eat in (lovely kitchen), had a garage for our bicycles and all the amenities for washing our clothes, and was situated in a quiet residential street. This house is large, clean and perfect for bigger groups. We were very happy spending time here.

Middlebury Reunion

We stayed there with 3 families and 3 babies during our Middlebury Reunion and it was the most amazing house! The location was perfect for all campus events, but far enough away to be in an adorable and quiet neighborhood. We can not wait to come back and stay here again! Beautiful house!

Great location

This was a perfect location for extended family members to stay during a recent visit for a memorial service. We were able to have large gatherings for dinner on two nights. The young adult generation of cousins had room to spread out in the living room for board games and sharing memories of grandma.

Amazing stay in middlebury

The house was great - very spacious and cozy. Just note the mattresses and pillows are very firm in case you’re not accustomed to it. Very helpful property manager and easy process. Thanks for a great stay!

Best Location Near Middlebury College!!

Wonderful home in beautiful neighborhood immediately adjacent to Middlebury College's state of the art athletic facility and fields, and art museum. If you are visiting MC, I don't think you can find a nicer homer closer to MC. You can walk or bike everywhere. The property owner and manager were incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to welcome my family and make us feel at home. The house has everything one may need for a two week stay, which we had, or just a quick weekend. Even if you're not coming for Middlebury College, the town of Middlebury is just delightful. The local library, a few blocks from this home, hosts concerts for all ages and tie-dye parties for the kids. The local frozen yogurt shop, also just a short walk from the house, not only has great frozen yogurt but the owner makes home-made delicious dumplings! We just loved everything about our stay in this wonderful home and sincerely thank the owner and manager so much.

Poor Communication by owner with renter and VRBO

Prior to arrival, I called and spoke to the adult daughter of the property owner. I asked her to change my email address to communicate with me. I also asked her to inform VRBO of that change so that emails from VRBO would come to the new email address. (I made this request per the direction of VRBO.) The change was not made. In addition and more importantly, the house was not ready at check in time as the owners had not informed the housekeeper to prepare the house for our arrival. I finally reached the housekeeper who very expeditiously and expertly came to clean the house. Her good work meant we were delayed by only two hours in moving in.

Elegant house with Middlebury College in the backyard

We are a family of five and came to Middlebury for college vist and to spend time in the Vermont mountains. We could see Middlebury from this house. It's literally adjacent to the Middlebury College campus. The first floor has lots of nice space to hang out and to work. There is a nice den attached to the living room, which became the temporary office for my college-age son, as he needed to work a bit for his internship. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, utensils and dishware. The dining room is spacious and well decorated. My 80-year old dad came with us on quite a few vacations and commented that this house has the best dining room among all the houses we've stayed at. My daughter and I loved reading and chatting in the living room. My husband went golfing twice on the course 5 mins away. Shirley and Susannah were very responsive and accomodating. And thank you Shirley for the conversation on the school and the town.

Great house; management leaves room for improvement

This is a great house in a great location near campus. We had some minor issues during our stay, though. 1) We were given the wrong entry code. Took about 15 minutes to get a hold of the people necessary and resolve the issue. 2) The house was not prepared to be inhabited when we got there. The top floor was extremely hot and not livable. The management hadn't considered that it was going to be about 90 degrees all weekend, and there was no AC up there. We had to call to have someone come over, carry wall AC units to the top floor ourselves and install them. Not sure what options there would have been if there weren't strong people to carry them upstairs. That resolved the top floor AC issue after a few hours. 3) AC in the house wasn't working properly. The house was slightly hotter than we would've liked all weekend, and with the central AC as low as it would go it was still not sufficient. This is about as hot as Vermont gets in the summer (I think) but still, that was our experience. Given this house being really expensive, the house was great. I would've expected more from the management.

Location, location, location! Our home is located in a peaceful neighborhood that borders Middlebury College. Our neighbors are wonderful people who have lived in neighborhood for many years. It is safe, secure and a perfect home to enjoy events at the college or in the charming town.
