Fishing on Clark Hill

Came for a 5 day fishing trip. Great location, close to the lake and all amenities and plenty of space and parking. Our stay couldn’t have been better

Good Place, Good People

Great place to stay. Owners are very nice ,friendly, and helpful. There is a Publix and some places to eat a few minutes away. It has a place to park a boat if you plan on doing some fishing at Clark Hills Lake. There are 2 boat ramps within 15 minutes of the property.

My fishing partner and I had the most gracious hosts you could ever ask for in Jay and Jan! They had a great place to park the boat with convenient charging outlets. Very safe and secure environment with no worries. The accommodations were perfect for our stay. Very comfortable for our fishing trip. Jan and Jay were wonderful hosts! 5 stars!

We loved our stay in this charming suburb of Augusta. The beds were very comfortable, which was important to us. Our host was very warm and helpful. It is very close to Augusta where the Master’s Golf tournament is held.

If you’re reading this, you’ve found a gold mine!

From the moment we pulled into the driveway, we were treated like family! This will be the first property that we look for the next time we find ourselves in the Clark’s Hill area. Mrs. Jan & Mr. Jay are the sweetest, most helpful hosts ever! Our son fishes competitively and we have travelled all over the South for fishing tournaments. I always try to look for a property that’s accessible with a boat & fairly close to the boat ramp. This property checked both boxes! Mr. Jay helped us get parked & position the boat for ease of exit in the mornings. No worries about traffic getting to the ramp either… we were literally 10 min from Wildwood Park where the tournament launched from. The actually accommodations were perfect & felt like home. This little place is way better than any hotel we’ve ever stayed in! We slept well every single night & it was SO quiet and peaceful. Although we weren’t able to, Mrs. Jan offered to build a fire in the fire pit so that we could make S’mores in the evenings. Next time, Mrs. Jan, I promise! If you are traveling for something other than fishing, you are still within a 15-20 min drive to Augusta. I had a personal tour of the Savannah River Rapids at the Augusta Canal and the Augusta museum downtown. I highly recommend visiting! The rich history in the city of Augusta is so interesting! Thank you Mr. Jay & Mrs. Jan for your hospitality! We will be back again! ❤️

Disc Golf HQ for IDGC Weekend

We were a group of four disc golfers in Appling to compete in a disc golf tournament just a 10 minute drive away from this fantastic VRBN at the International Disc Golf Center. The property was everything we hoped for and more. Very clean and well stocked for doing your own food prep & cooking. Very friendly host. This will be my go to spot next time I play disc golf at the IDGC!

Short but wonderful stay

We were only at the property for one night, but Jay and Jan made the experience memorable. We stayed to be close to the lake for a fishing trip for my dad's birthday. Jan was such a gracious host and had multiple things already prepared for us to make grilling easy when we arrived. The property was beautiful and spacious and I am sorry I did not get to explore more. It was just a nice relaxing evening around the fire pit. The deer came around even while we were sitting outside. Even though my two sons didn't come this time I am sure they would very much enjoy a visit to Ally's Acres in the future! -Tyler

Our short stay in Appling.

Jan is a wonderful host. She emailed me several times before our arrival and was on hand to greet us even though it was 9PM. The property is quiet, clean, comfortable and well appointed. It sits on 20 acres. Jan thought of everything including a basket of fruit and some coffee. We will definitely return if we are fortunate again to get Master’s tickets. Next time we would stay a little longer. This is an excellent property.

Amazing hospitality

You just won't find a more accommodating host. The property is now our home away from home and Jan and Jay are like family. Everything you need is here. It's an easy drive to all stores and attractions. Easy access to highways, etc. Comfortable rooms, beds, and a clean, spacious bathroom! Kitchen is well stocked and we were able to make all of our meals very easily! We will be back!

Amazing, relaxing, and comfortable!

This was one of our best VRBO experiences. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. It had everything we needed and more. Jan and Jay were gracious, generous and kind hosts. They were knowledgeable about the area and offered up a lot of great advice. The property was beautiful and relaxing... we didn't need to go anywhere... but could easily get to stores, restaurants and Fort Gordon. Highly recommend!

Jan and Jay are both retired veterans with a combined 64 years of federal service. Jay and Jan have lived in the area for over thirty years, are avid fisherman involved with several fishing clubs, including the Georgia Bass Federation and are familiar with Clark Hill Lake, Blanchard and Patriot’s parks, Fort Eisenhower, and Augusta.

The Upstairs apartment is well stocked, providing EVERYTHING you should need for a memorable stay. Feel free to open drawers and cabinets in any room to find and use anything you need.
A phone/ipad charging station and an Echo Dot are provided for your convenience.
High speed, 5G internet is provided free of charge with a separate guest password/wifi for your security.
Overhead fans and remote control TVs are located in every room.
The living space has an oversized sofa, love seat, reclining chair, coffee table, and entertainment center, consisting of a TV, stereo and CD player.
The kitchen has new stainless steel appliances (stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer) and is fully stocked with everything you need to include coffee maker, toaster, dishes, glasses, pots, pans, blender, baking items, bread maker, mixer, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, towels, and cleaning supplies. The dining table accommodates six with an additional two seats on island.
Each bedroom has a king-size bed, bedding, clock, remote TV, luggage rack, storage space and a closet. Extra blankets, an iron, ironing board, laundry basket and hangers and bathrobes (2 per bedroom) are also provided.
The bathroom is stocked with towels, toilet paper, hair dryer, magnifying make-up mirror, shampoo, conditioner, bath wash, cleaning and disinfecting items.
A lighted balcony with table and chairs overlooking our land and pond completes your living space.
A washer and dryer is located in the ground floor garage. Detergent, dryer sheets and bleach are provided for your convenience.
A rocking chair porch with water and power outlets begins the outdoor space. Midway between the apartment and pond is a fire pit with seating, which can be set up, to include s’mores upon your request. A picnic table and gas grill is available for outdoor dining. A treehouse provides a bird’s eye view of our well stocked pond. Fishing equipment is provided.
Guests are welcome to explore our 20-acre property.
