Magical Stay at Crawley Guest Cottage!

Thank you so very much to incredible hosts Jacquelyn and John. They made our stay and first trip to WVA very special and memorable. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail are more than we could have ever expected including well water and fresh eggs! The cottage is VERY clean, cozy - with all the modern amenities including wifi, smart tv, washer/dryer + lots of rustic charm. Exactly what our family including two senior dogs needed. Fantastic location to downtown Lewisburg and tons of local activities and fun. We are already planning our next trip. Great stay!

Crawley Cottage

Very nice small cottage. The hosts were extremely welcoming. Everything about the stay was flawless. The instructions and communication prior to arrival were complete and clear. The property was clean, stocked with basic necessities and included freshly picked wildflowers for a personal touch. The cottage was exactly as advertised. Sitting on the porch listening to the rain made it such a peaceful experience. We are looking forward to staying here again.

Old cottage with much vegetation covering and around it.

Poorly lite older cottage in vine covered condition. Wooden entrance steps need repair. Interior somewhat clean. Very small bathroom, second bedroom had to enter through larger bedroom or travel through laundry room, kitchen, living room to get to bathroom. Not very convenient for two adult couples. No major problems, no verbal communication with owners. Would not stay there a second time. No bowls to eat cereal out of, very few dishes in kitchen. Window air conditioners in bedrooms. Very warm for our arrival at 8 pm. Turned air conditioners on our arrival. Did not cool down for sleep especially in back, smaller bedroom. We were there only at night, day time hours would not have been very pleasant for us to relax and enjoy.

Cosy Crawley Cottage

We had a nice stay at this property while checking out New River Gorge and other sites in the area. Everything was clean and as advertised. The air conditioning is from two window units in the bedrooms, so we were glad we had brought a couple of box fans along to circulate cooler air to the living room and kitchen areas, although there is one tower fan provided. The rooms were big and we appreciated the dressers and good sized closets so that we could unpack our bags and be a little more comfortable.

Weekend stay at Crawley Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Crawley Cottage. We were in town for a family wedding and found the space to be a comfortable retreat at the end of each busy day. It feels very private. Our host responded quickly when a local power failure left us in the dark for a short time, bringing us flashlights and an update from the power company. Our last evening was a little warm but a powered fan made out sleep more comfortable. Overall a pleasant stay. Our dog was quietly approved of the space also - there was no sign that other guests dogs had "marked" the space or damaged anything. Our dog immediately got comfortable and didn't sniff out anything weird. Sometimes pet friendly rentals have an odor but nothing here, not a whiff! It's very clean and welcoming rental. Tricky to spot the driveway initially but once we found it, it was easier to come and go. Be careful pulling out; the traffic on the road is moving quickly. Thanks for a great stay!

Just What We Needed!

The house was a great base for us as we visited our daughter and explored the area. The hosts went out of their way to set up the patio and build a fire in the fire pit so we could host our daughter and a few of her friends for dinner one night. They made us feel very welcome!

Gracious hosts helped make our stay comfortable and quite memorable!

This is a great location for a home base if you’re visiting West Virginia! The simple, comfy house, tucked out of view of the two-lane tarmac, is clearly meant to be a restful place, though it’s equipped with great wi-fi if you like to stay in touch. Looking for a place where you can relax, recharge? This is it. If you want to visit the USA's most recently added New River Gorge National Park, enjoy a Saturday visit to the Farmer’s Market in nearby Lewisburg, or stroll or through peaceful, photogenic small towns (we loved Hinton, a half-hour away) this is it. You can drive (or ride) twisty two-lane highways like the Midland Trail (US Rt. 60) or steer over White Oak mountain (WV Route 3) revealing numerous glimpses of warm valleys and quaint rural houses. We found it a great place to engage and connect with the best in mountain culture and scenic beauty, all within an easy drive. Best of all: in various ways the hosts made our stay delightful. Though nearby, they were respectful of our privacy, yet were warm, affable, and attentive to any concern. In many years of travel we haven’t experienced such exceptional hospitality!

Quiet clean cottage

Cozy Cottage!

John and Jacquelyn are awesome! They are gracious, welcoming, and personable. They even gifted us with homemade cookies that were delicious. They are responsive and epitomize Southern hospitality. We have enjoyed our stay at this cozy cottage. It is peaceful, serene, and exactly what we wanted. Looking forward to staying here again!

Wonderful Get A Way at Crawley Guest Cottage

The Crawley Guest cottage is the perfect place to relax and enjoy beautiful surroundings, and close enough to drive into Lewisburg for shopping or special events. The Cottage is spacious, immaculate and has everything you need for the perfect stay. The hosts are gracious and welcoming!
