The views did not disappoint. What was disappointing: Communications, Cleanliness, Furnishings.
Limited by text in this review.. We believe the VRBO listing was updated after our stay. We scoured the website & booked after contacting host with a reasonable request, purchasing insurance & explaining our position. After booking the non-cancellation space for $900/nt, we received much more strict Cloud9 rules for the space a week later. I urge you to read every inch of the Cloud9 restrictions, as it was wild to us that anyone would rent this space and not be able to host family for dinner. Their communication was lacking. I booked more than a month out, plans were made, & not until a day before check-in did the host reach out. They didn’t care to address my request and made for a mad scramble for the upcoming week. Which also made the week much more expensive for us, having to rent a private dining space for 6 people, as an example. It was our mistake for assuming (after explanation) that we could move forward with controlled, intimate dinners.
Used kitchen sponge that stunk of mildew. The place needs a repainting. Dirty, smudged walls in multiple rooms. It was more as we lived in the space that you notice that some elements of the place could use a bit more attention to detail. Both a window and a door leaked during the rains.
This is where we talked about it feeling like a Hollywood set. The place in photos looks beautiful. But it’s scarcely furnished. Cooking in the space was quite difficult with very basic amenities. This is clearly a rental property. I bought a cutting board, sponges, and a pan to make the week more livable. The chairs around the dining table are all significantly bent; leaning back on them seemed treacherous. The small tables wobbled and couldn’t hold a drink. Just sort of odd. It’s well staged, but utility could be increased for the cost of the place. Compared to what it normally goes for, we got in at the bargain price of around $900 a night. Beds were very comfortable. Towels were fine. Soaps were appreciated. Sonos Soundsystem was great. Did not use the building amenities, but they appeared very nice.
The views are incredible. The location for us was perfect. The building is easy to get in and out of. Parking was full, so street parking every day (Approx $50-$60/day). Communication was lacking. Updates are needed. Leniency would be valued. Unfortunately, we would not rent here again.
