If you would like to get a real feel for our property visit us at Shawsriverranch.com We live on 75 acres with access to both Green creek and the South Arkansas river, our home is up on the ridge that overlooks the meadow and mountains. Down by the meadow we built a Lodge with a luxurious suite attached. This is brand new construction with 12 foot ceilings and everything you need to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The Lodge and outdoor beer garden are private, but guests of the lodge suite can enjoy the outdoor bocce ball court and 9 holes of disc golf along with private access to fly fishing on the south Arkansas, and fishing (catch and release)on the two stocked trout ponds. Our property is just down the road from Green Creek hiking trail, it is only 7 miles to Salida and only 13 miles to Monarch Mountain ski resort. The property sits between two wineries, Mountain Spirit Winery (close enough to walk or bike ride to) and Vino Salida. If you love the outdoors then this majestic property is for you. Very private yet close to everything! This is truly a one of a kind property. While the bar is private and for the use of us, our friends and family and other lot owners of the Ranch developement, if we are there, we are not there late at night.

Very comfortable for two adults. Kitchen had ample dishes, cooking utensils, electric stove top, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave. Bedroom, bathroom, and living room very comfortable and well laid out. Walking trails thru meadows and along pristine mountain stream exceptional. Very quiet except for managers two dogs. Barking and aggressive behavior. Didn't think it would happen more than once, but it did.

Amazing place just outside of town!

Our stay was perfect! We loved waking up to the Mountain View. The accommodations were upscale and super comfortable. We went skiing, snow shoeing, hiking (all within minutes) and also shopped/dined in Salida. Mary Ellen and John were great hosts! Always there for us when we had a question but didn’t see them at all (except for the night they invited us to the lodge-NYE-and served us delicious lobster pizza and cocktails:) Great people, great place. Highly recommend.

Hidden Gem

This cozy cabin is located just off the main highway in the area. It was super easy to find and get to with the property managers directions. The electric fireplace gave off a comfortable amount of heat and was great for helping dry out our ski boots and gloves. The bed was VERY comfortable and the extra blankets were appreciated. Mary Ellen was very accommodating and made sure that if we needed anything to not hesitate to reach out.

Beautiful Location

This cabin was perfect for a long weekend get away! The property is in between the ski mountain and Salida so we were only a short drive to everything. Mary Ellen was great about communicating with us and proving suggestions for things to do. We loved walking around the property and playing frisbee golf as well. The cabin was the perfect size for two people and very clean and cozy.

Amazing property, we can't wait to visit again!

We LOVED our time at Shaw's River Ranch. The property is spectacular. From playing frisbee golf to exploring the meadow and river to simply enjoying the views with a book and beverage in hand - we didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back. The rental unit is perfect with beautiful finishes, very comfortable bedding, and all the kitchen supplies you could need. The location is great, very peaceful and quiet but also a quick and easy drive into downtown Salida, up to Monarch, or to the many recreation areas nearby. Mary Ellen was so friendly and easy to communicate with, and we greatly appreciated her local tips on hiking trails (including Greens Creek just up the road!), restaurants, and more. It's clear that Mary Ellen and John work hard and take a lot of pride in their property, and we are so grateful that we were able to experience it. Hope to be back again soon!

Beautiful property

We had the best stay at the ranch! We had beautiful views walking the property. Great location to the winery, town of salida, and skiing Monarch. The house was so cozy and had everything we needed. Mary Ellen was so great with communication and the entire experience. We cannot wait to come back and stay again!

Peaceful stay at this Ranch

My husband, myself and our doggies really enjoy how peaceful, beautiful and quite this ranch was. This place is so charming with the feel of a modern cabin feel. Thoughtfully designed with a lovely kitchen, artwork, and interior elements, The view of the snowy mountains was just lovely and we enjoyed walking on the land. We didn’t get a chance to walk to the local winery, but maybe next time in the spring. We will go back for sure!

Amazing Property!

My wife and I were looking for an off-the-grid getaway to enjoy Autumn in Central Colorado. This property is simply amazing! The unit itself is as shown, spacious, with all wood paneling. The best part, for us however, was the location. The room overlooks a large open meadow where there's a disc-golf course. A bit further across the meadow is a small river lined with cottonwood and aspen trees and great fishing holes. When we visited, the trees were in the height of color. The room is just off of US-50 on a quiet, secluded, tree-lined road. While looking out from the front porch and yard, you can easily see several of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks. This unit is less than 15 minutes from Salida, which we've always known to be a charming mountain town. This unit is also about 5 minutes from a delightful winery. The owners were so, so very friendly, providing us with tips and insights for things to do and see throughout the region, including some great suggestions for dinner and breakfast. We can't recommend this rental highly enough

My husband and I bought this ranch property about four years ago and have been working non stop ever since. We have turned our property into everything fun we have always wanted on a property, from private fishing holes, two stocked fishing ponds and miles of cleared hiking trails, hammocks, benches and chairs thought the property. We have added a nine hole disc golf course to the property too.
