Celebrating Nana’s 90th at PML

We chose this property for our large family to celebrate Nana’s 90th, and it was everything we dreamt it would be. All amenities had been well thought out, from the comfortable beds, baskets of towels to handle a large crowd, and blankets for chilly nights and mornings on the deck. All of us enjoyed the water toys (well, maybe not nana!). We can’t wait to book another stay next summer!

Yosemite Family Vacay

My family had a wonderful stay. The property can accommodate a large family and the private lake access allows for convenient family activities. The host is very helpful and responds quickly to inquiries. This location provided a convenient option for access to Yosemite. The entrance to Yosemite on Highway 120 from the residence at the Pine Mountain Lake location was about 1 hour and 15 minutes with mild traffic. My family did leave the residence by 7am on the days that we traveled to the Yosemite Valley area. I suspect traffic would be much worse at a later time in the day. The restaurants that we ate at (Two Guys Pizza, Iron Door and The Grill) were all very good. The grocery store was also convenient. Guests need to be aware of trash management at Pine Mountain as with a large group, it would be easy to exceed what is provided. My family did make a trip to the Moore Brothers center to buy the large trash bags that we required. We then had to deliver these bags to the dumpster at a different location.

Summer Fun

We had a wonderful stay at the house! Along with the amazing view, the kitchen had everything we needed- even enough coffee cups for all of us! Outside, we paddle-boarded, kayaked, swam, played pickle-ball and golfed. Inside the house there was more than enough room for the family to play games, read and play pool all at the same time. You won’t be disappointed!

This house is amazing!

We had a staff retreat at this house for the small nonprofit that I run, and it was perfect. The deck was excellent for eating and hanging out, the kitchen was well-equipped. The lake access was super easy, the weather was perfect. And the folks who own this home also manage it for rentals, and they are very friendly, communicative and easy to reach.

Beautiful lakeside retreat

We had a wonderful stay at this property and wished we could’ve stayed longer. The proximity to the lake was a real bonus and having use of paddle boards and kayaks was a huge hit with everyone. We enjoyed using the fire pit too and eating outside with views of the lake.

Long awaited family vacation

Bill and April were super hosts who offered their home for our family vacation. Very accessible by phone. The description and photos of the home were very accurate. Everyone loved being on the lake with a dock and using all of their inclusive water toys throughout the day and evening. Good security with $42/vehicle one time charge at the gate. We rotated preparing the dinners amongst the families and eating outside on the deck was great. Kitchen was fully stocked for serving our family's needs, electric stove. You may want to bring a griddle and ground coffee. The beds felt really good! Good AC. Very peaceful sitting outside on the deck at night and in the morning. We did see a bald eagle swooping down from next door's tree and bats at night. Plenty of geese everywhere on the Lake! On PML 's website had PDF with some funny stories $$ of how they have tried to get rid of the geese who do not seem to migrate anymore. Being across from the nearby Marina made it convenient to use one of the Lake's three beaches and snack bar. The free water taxi stopping at the 3 beaches provided a nice overview of the lake. The Groveland grocery store surprisedly had a wide variety of fresh foods, meats, etc at reasonable prices. In town the Pine Merchantile had a great ice cream shop. We ate at the Mexican restaurant twice and had a family dinner at PML's The Grill (good food) overlooking the golf course. One of the waitresses also has a bakery service that we ordered a nice Carrot cake for dinner. There is a gas station and car repair nearby that plugged one of my leaking tires. The west entrance to Yosemite is rather close( 30 min), shorter lines , and provides a really nice view descending into the valley. Would suggest going early around 7-8 am to avoid the crowds. We were fortunate in that even though the Washburn Fire was burning in the South entrance, Mariposa Grove, we had very little smoke at the Lake. The valley had some smoke but was clear, blue skies. It was not busy maybe because people had cancelled their vacations due to the fires. . Our son was lucky to have a lottery ticket to hike Half Dome with some friends. That was a real challenge for them ! Rainbow Pool located 15 min from the house is another fun place to jump off small cliffs into the water and swimming. Everyone loved our family vacation at the Luxury Lodge on the Pine Mountain Lake and would recommend it for families and groups.

Relaxing week at Pine Mountain Lake

Bill & April are caring and dedicated hosts. The lake house is exactly as the pictures indicate. Our multi-generation family thoroughly enjoyed the house, dock and amenities at the nearby marina. We used the canoes and kayak to transport infants as well as coolers for long days at the beach. The well equipped kitchen me the needs of each of our 5 families as we took turns preparing meals. We will return!

Beautifully appointed home in a perfect setting

This is a beautifully appointed home in a perfect setting. Our extended family of 18 was very comfortable. The complex includes so many amenities, plus nearby Yosemite & Hetch Hetchy, there simply wasn't enough time to do everything. And it was nearly impossible to drag ourselves away from simply playing on the lake with all the water toys. The owners website is superb which really helped us divvy up the sleeping arrangements. And communication with the owner was very easy. I did a lot of research trying to find the 'right place' and I'm glad I did. Worked perfectly.

Great location to Yosemite!!

We stayed at Pine mountain lodge for 3 nights-our group had 11 total and the house was plenty big for us! The lake, paddleboards and kayaks were awesome for our kids ages 11-16 and the back yard area was great for them to get out and enjoy the weather. The marina is a short drive were you can rent family paddle boats and there is a beach to do some swimming. The kitchen was fully stocked and dining room was large enough for our group. There are only 2 TVs in the house but we loved it because we played games and talked !! We really enjoyed the fire pit on the back porch! The owner was very responsive and friendly!!

Very nice and quite. There was suppose to be 19 of us but only 11 came. Great grandaughter was very up set because she did not catch a fish she tried for a hour. Over all very nice.

Wonderful property

Great location (right at the lake), clean, spacious and lots of activities. Checkin/out was very simple and owners were very responsive. We found no fault with the property. We had a very enjoyable 3 day stay and I would come back next summer for a longer stay.

Awesome stay!

My family and I were so happy with our stay at PML. The cleanliness of the place was our main concern in finding a place to stay during this pandemic, but April and Bill went above and beyond and the place was spotless and I could tell it had been thoroughly cleaned. We enjoyed swimming, fishing and a trip to nearby Yosemite. There were paddle boards, kayaks, and even a canoe for use. Our children had the best time. Internet was great, kitchen and beds were the best and the showers were so so clean! Thank you for sharing your home. We hope to come again soon.

Relaxing PML

We had an amazing stay at PML. It is a special community that is such a great spot. The paddle boards and kayaks were fun to explore the lake. Water was amazing. Bill and April were great! We would love to come back and stay here again.

Amazing Lake House

This is the second summer that we have rented Bill and April’s lake house. We all have a blast! Lots of indoor and outdoor space for everyone. Beautiful views and wonderful lake toys to enjoy the fabulous lake. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking your own meals. We look forward to returning next year.

Wonderful escape

We just returned from a fantastic vacation, and we want to say thank you to April and Bill for your hospitality! We were a group of four families, 8 adults, 9 children (teenagers), and the house was a great fit for our gang! We loved getting away from the bustle of life and out into the trees and nature -- encouraging the kids to put down their devices and play games, have quality conversation, enjoy the lake, soak in the outdoors, listen to the chirping birds. We took a hike to Carlton Falls into Yosemite park and swam in the water hole and ate lunch. Because the Pine Mountain marina was not open to rentals at this time, we drove the 25 minutes to Don Pedro lake and rented a pontoon boat and 2 seadoos, a super fun day out on the water tubing and enjoying the sunshine. We enjoyed the amenities of the house, the canoe, paddle boards, paddle boat, and kayaks, life jackets, and paddles. We fished off the dock in the mornings (caught one!). The large deck was perfect for spreading out during mealtimes, and there is a lovely view of the lake from the cushioned window seating inside the main living area. We also enjoyed the loft and the dads gathered and chatted. Kids loved the downstairs game room and pool table (and they would stay up late and we wouldn't hear them because they were down in the basement). The beds were SUPER comfortable. There is lovely furniture decorating the house giving it a cabin-y feel, nestled in the trees right up against the waterfront. Wifi in the house as well as a fantastic kitchen, fully stocked, with an extra refrigerator on the deck. We also loved the firepit on the deck -- at night we would enjoy sitting around it and talking. Altogether a wonderful trip!

Best family vacation!!!

Every year our large extended family decide a trip to nearby areas from Bay Area for the MLK weekend!!! As a growing family, we wanted a house that could comfortably accommodate 20+ people. This was a perfect house!!! Very well maintained and a beautiful area. This lake side property was an absolute treat!!! Our family had a wonderful time and we do look forward to coming back during summer to enjoy the lake even more!!! The house is well stocked and the owner was really very helpful!

Wonderful retreat!

We took up a group of college students from our church and this beautiful home that created the perfect environment for us to relax and have fun together! We loved the living area with a large dining table for meals and playing games, the cozy fireplace, couches and window seats that faced the awesome view of the lake. We also loved how everyone had a bed, cozy bedding and linens perfectly set up for us upon our arrival. The fireplace was all set up for us with firewood and a lighter reasy for us that first night. Thank you April for being such a pleasure to work with and extremely responsive by text before and during our stay! We hope to bring our students back to this beautiful and relaxing retreat!

Hi,
I am a follower of Christ, first and foremost, second...everything else--a Mom, teacher, wife, helper, worker, cleaner, gardener, and whatever else God wants me to do. Bill, my husband is busy working our farm day and night and keeping the home fires burning.

This property has been in our family since 1977 and was designed by my husband, Bill. Bill bought the lot back in 1977 and built the house. It feels like a little unknown treasure as still many do not know about Pine Mountain Lake. It is especially nice in the Fall/Winter/Spring as Yosemite Park is quiet, all the summer tourists are gone, and it feels like the park is in our pocket, in our backyard, it is the best time to go. Then after a day at the park, we love to come up to PML, a very quiet place during the Fall/Winter/Spring. We feel like the only ones on the lake. Summer is fun too. The kids love all the action, the swimming, and deck barbecues.

One of my favorite things about this house is all the places I can go to for privacy even though my family is large and we have such a full house. I also love to sit on the swing bench on the back deck and look at the lake. Waking up in the Master Bedroom listening to the geese, seeing the sun peek through the pine trees, seeing the water twinkle with the sunrise, is so renewing for my spirit. Life slows down when we go to PML. We have great memories there with our children and we look forward to creating more and hope that you can do the same.
