Wake to the sounds of geese on the water just outside; spend the day kayaking or just reading on the deck; let one of La Conner's wonderful restaurants do the cooking for you in the evening. It's been a very long year of staying home and staying safe. Now is the time to venture out, but perhaps not too far from home ...
This two-bedroom home overlooks Skagit Bay, with views across to Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands. Stairs take you down to the beach for a morning walk or an evening campfire. There is a spacious deck over the water with a one-person hot tub to start the morning off right ... just you and the birds and a cup of coffee.
The living room has two different seating areas, one looking out the wall-to-wall windows over the water, the other facing a free-standing peninsula gas fireplace.
The house is split level, with a master bedroom taking all of the upstairs; its two sets of patio doors lead to a small balcony over the water. A desk overlooking the bay invites you to a bit of journaling or perhaps a start on that dreamed-of novel.
Kitchen appliances are new, with a gas stove/range and on-demand hot water.
The house has a washer/dryer combo unit for small loads. A small second bedroom is nestled downstairs behind the living room. Ample easy parking out front.
This is a quiet neighborhood; morning walkers share the street with the deer and occasional bunnies. No loud parties, please.
I have two kayaks on a deck on the beach; if you want to use them, we can make arrangements for that.
Downtown La Conner is 3 miles away. The charming town of Anacortes is about 15 minutes away. Both offer an abundance of restaurants and stores for your relaxed pleasure.
While there is full internet access and a "smart tv" for streaming shows (as well as a DVD player), please note that there is no cable or local television ... we invite you to enjoy the break from the news programs.
