Overall nice place. Resort is in need of updates for sure, but nice and accommodating and helpful polite staff. The one thing I was not please with was the frequency of housekeeping. There were 3 consecutive days where they did not tend to our room (to remove trash and supply new towels). After I called to request this service they sent someone up 4 hours later. They were likely understaffed is my guess.

nightmare stay

booked stay for 3 nights; stayed in room less than 24 hours; many issues toilet leaking and not flushing well in master bathroom; maintenance was notified fixed initially, left a mess and by morning had to tell them still not working (it was flushing fine but after they tried to fix leak we had to take lid off to flush) light fixtures were flickering and in fridge bed sheets were stained furniture did not look clean shower temperatures difficult to maintain 2 people (47 y.o and 80 y.o females) slipped and fell in bathtub as no safety treads to prevent this; we were told that nothing else could be done and they were doing everything they could to be safe and it wasn't enough our complaints ended up getting moved to a different room that was a little more modern and easier to get to with luggage directions and location of elevators for this room was unsafe and appalling as I would have never booked this resort if I had known that getting to room was like this and how unsafe i felt staying in that resort tried getting in touch with the owner but no response not worth the price

It was great and staff we encountered were super nice! The only negative would be the indoor water slides weren’t open enough. Other than that it was great!

Overall great experience

water park was fun for the kids especially for it being off season. The room didn’t feel like an angle condo. we were in front of the ocean in each room. The jacuzzi tub was huge, the staff was friendly, and it was clean. Older condo with older appliance. The kitchen wasn’t stocked well, so if enjoy cooking for the family I would bring a baking sheet, good knifes, paper towels ( there wasn’t any) sponges or a dish brush. Overall great price great experience and the mattresses were comfortable !

Memorial Day Family Vacation

We Absolutely Loved our stay. The oceanview was amazing. The Condo was spacious enough for 3kids and 2 adults. The front desk was very helpful and fast with response. Not to mention the kids enjoyed the indoor jacuzzi, water park and pools; as well as all the scheduled activities the Resort offered. Definitely will be return. ☺️

Upon arrival it seemed like a nice place but once we got into our room the floors were so sticky that our shoes came off our feet and stuck to the floor. We asked for them to clean the floors and a women came and sprayed water on them and wiped them with a rag they were still dirty and definitely not disinfected. We then thought we’d check out the pool/water park area. The pools were cloudy and there was not even a hint of chlorine smell. The beds were rock solid and there was broken glass all over our balcony as well. I would not recommend this property.

Great location for the family

The condo was beautifully situated right on the beach with plenty to do nearby. The unit was comfortable with the 5 of us and the amenities made the entire stay so easy! We were placed near the street side on the 1st floor, so our balcony had a less than ideal view, but we could still see the ocean. Definitely coming back!

Way Too Pricey Considering

Of course, the property is located at the resort. The resort prices were twice as cheap as this unit (rented a room at the resort for another couple) this time of the year for the same amenities. Whatever you do don’t ask for a later check out.

The online process was great, check-in process was a bit rough, meaning the parking was crazy and the line to check in was long and they didn’t have my correct room at first. They fixed that and the rest of our stay was great!

Nice vacation

We a good vacation here. We were placed in a different condo than the one we signed up for beacuse ours wasnt ready but it was the same size. The only complaint was having to walk across the public beach access lot to get to the other pools and restaurant.

Good time overall

Overall everything was good, only had 1 complaint and that was that all of the ceiling fans in the rooms only had 1 speed - Super Slow, luckily air conditioner worked great. Would definitely stay there again

First I want to say I wanted to stat at Dunes Village Resort when i was in Mrytle Beach 10 years ago! Mistake!!!! I am completely disappointed in the run down hotel. Went to sleep in the 1st bedroom the first night was ok, second night I woke up with bites all over me. Checked bed didnt see anything. Next night my husband woke up with bites on him. Went to front desk they changed room and supposedly heat the room and our belongings. I got a call later the nothing was found in the room. Well of course it didn't matter to me because we were leaving. They said it with confidence I have no idea why the room is dim and damp and have bugs bugs bugs like I said I didnt come bit up but I left bit up😠!!!!!!!! To make it worst they moved up into the next tower roaches everywhere I mean everywhere!!!!! Warning warning warning do not stay at Dunes Resort

The view was good, parking was covered and free and the mattresses were very comfortable. Lots of little things need to be fixed, nothing major was broken just a lot of minor issues that added up. Did not feel it was worth what we paid a night.

The pools were great. The front desk was very friendly and responsive. Our condo had a beautiful view. It could use some updates—but everything was functional. Would stay here again.

Not a true VRBO

This unit is advertised on VRBO - which I assumed I would be dealing directly with an “owner” - not a person who works directly as a booking agent for Caribbean Dunes -It was not and is very misleading. Our room and service at this resort was too notch - just know when booking - you aren’t dealing with an actual person who “owns” the unit you will be assigned at check-in. It may actually just be easier and more cost efficient to just book directly with Caribbean Dunes on their site.

Dissapointed, would not return

It is important for people to note that this is a listing that the resort posted and not from someone that actually owns the unit. Typically, whenever I have rented on VRBO at a beach location they have all the beach gear you would need (Chairs, Umbrella, Cooler, Sand Toys, Boogie Boards, Beach towels). We traveled from the Midwest and did were not able to being all this equipment with us, so we had nothing. If I wanted a hotel rental I would have booked directly through their website. I book through VRBO to get the extras you get when someone actually owns the property/unit and is renting out to you. This was such a lent down to me. The room was adequate, had a full kitchen, plates, cups, and cooking items. No seasoning though which I have found at all my other VRBOs, none here since this is the resort posting this. Also, no extra blankets in the room. Again, something that typically comes with the property when someone owns the unit. This is a 3 star hotel/resort and there are two hotels and you have to park a bit away in a parking ramp, though this is true for nearly all resorts that we saw. It took a good 10-15 walk to the ramp and to get to our car. This ramp is very tight so be sure that you are good at parking! The slides were great for kids 9 and under. My 16 and 13 year old were not interested and found them to be too little. I was disappointed with this and wish I did more research. I never got a good look at any of the slides in photos so was hard to tell. Great beach access and a spot to rinse off at. It was a disappointment that they didn't have a lot of food to purchase by the pool. They had Italian Ice Cream Only. Bring a cooler (oh yeah, room didn't have one.) Overall, it was adequate, but wouldn't return.

The room we received was not what was listed on vrbo. when I contacted the front desk they could not help and I requested to speak with supervisor nothing and then I requested to speak with the property manager nothing. I have left 4 calls and nothing. do not stay there it is a vacation trap
