A classic Maine cottage on Songo Pond, this cozy home is just a few feet from the water with a dock. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this small pond, whether reading a book by the fire place, enjoying breakfast on the deck, swimming, or paddling on the lake. On the edge of the National Forest, there are various hiking and biking opportunities from expert to a walk in the woods with mountain views and streams. Three miles from Main Street Bethel and 12 minutes from Sunday River ski resort.
We are new to VRBO but here is a a review from another site from earlier this year. "An amazing little cabin with a lot of heart. Tamera's cabin is cozy but designed in a way that feels spacious. We loved sleeping on the porch and waking up to the lake. You're very close to Bethel and Sunday River and Carter's XC. The kitchen is excellent and equipped well. The living room was sweet with a cozy fire and comfy places to sit, read, write, and relax. I can see this spot being amazing in the summer with the deck and BBQ too! Comfortable beds and overall a great spot with lots of charm. Excellent hosts and would highly recommend! Thank you!"
This small 900 sq ft cottage is perfect for a small family or one or two couples.Sleeping areas are not completely private but afford beds in a separate upstairs area with a queen and twin bed and a queen bed on the enclosed porch surrounded by windows for starry nights and sunrise mornings. The lower level of the cottage on the waterfront opens up to an area set up as a tiki bar with darts and corn hole available. Two kayaks and a canoe are on the premisis and can be used with a signed liability waiver. Other watercraft are stored but not available for use. You are welcome to use the fire pit, but we do not provide fire/kindling wood. There is plenty for sale nearby.
We are 3.2 miles from Main Street Bethel where there are several stores and restaurants. There is a bakery on Main Street – DiCoca’s that is good and the Shop and Save supermarket in town is convenient and well stocked and has liquor. There are a ton of hiking trails in the area, including some very close to the camp, Grafton Notch State park, nearby, and several over the border in NH, which is very close. We are close to the Appalachian Trail as well. Trail apps and websites such as All Trails and Mahoosuc Land Trust (Mahoosuc.org) show the location and details about many trails.
