Dieses private Haupthaus mit Seeblick und separatem Gästehaus liegt auf einem Hektar am Ende einer Privatstraße. Es ist eines der wenigen Häuser mit privatem, begehbarem Sandstrand und westlicher Ausrichtung, ideal für Familien, die die Nachmittagssonne genießen möchten. Dock bietet Platz für ein 24 'Boot und ist auch ein großartiger Ort für das Angeln am frühen Morgen. Eine Hängematte ist zwischen zwei Bäumen gespannt und Adirondack-Stühle stehen auf dem Rasen, um zurückzuschlagen. Ein Weber Holzkohle BBQ verfügbar für das Kochen im Freien, ein Picknick-Tisch in der Nähe des Wassers und eine Wasserfront Kamin für die Nacht Lagerfeuer. Haupthaus für 7 Personen, voll ausgestattete Küche und Frühstücksraum, Steinkamin im Wohnzimmer, abgeschirmten Veranda mit Blick auf den See. Es gibt ein Owners Cottage auf dem Grundstück weiter oben am Berg, das für größere Gruppen gemietet werden kann. Von Zeit zu Zeit kann der Besitzer in der Hütte bleiben, während andere zwei Einheiten vermietet werden.

Bettwäsche-Service. Wenn Sie keine eigene Bettwäsche mitbringen möchten (Standard), liefern wir diese. Der Bettwäsche-Service ist eine zusätzliche $ 100 pro Aufenthalt.

Pleasant stay

Enjoyed the walk-in shore, kayaking and relatively close location to Lake George Village. Hiked Buck Mountain, enjoyed a winery and waterfront restaurants. Peaceful beautiful place to spend time with friends.

Family Fall Trip

Everyone really enjoyed the property. The house has a lot of history and character. It is right on the water with beautiful sunsets. It has lots of amenities to keep you busy, canoe/kayak, fire pit, hammock, sunroom, etc. We were there for the weekend. I wish we had more time. I definitely recommend this property.

A very special place to make memories!

We just stayed for our 4th year in a row and this has become our family’s favorite place on earth! The house is beautiful - well kept with so much charm and a wonderfully rich history. The screened porch with the magnificent views makes this a paradise in rain or shine! Even a day of storm “Debby” couldn’t bring our family’s spirits down. Belmont Stakes girls trip

The house and smaller cottage were perfect for our group of 10. There was plenty of room for all of us, the house was super clean, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, a gorgeous yard directly on lake, and the host (Bill) was very good about getting back to us with any questions we had. Also loved the location; quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Lake George Village which is a short drive away. Highly recommend! Hope to book again in the future.

We love our summer vacations here. It is a little slice of heaven and is a special place for everyone in our family—from 2 to 77. Owners are great and super easy to deal with. Location on the lake is ideal. And the sandy beach is perfect. Could not ask for better.

Pilot Knob Vacation

June was a wonderful time to be at Pilot Knob. The loons were fishing and calling directly off of the property. A true Lake George cottage with a sandy beach. The screened-in porch (with windows to close on cool nights) provides an expansive view across the lake. The cottage is comfortable and very well maintained.

great place for teens!

We had a wonderful time at Bill's Adirondack Camp! The house makes a great first impression: at the end of a quiet road, it is clean, well-kept, and has pretty landscaping on flat lot with a perfect little dock on the lake. Picture-perfect lake house. When we came in, we were super impressed with how spotless everything was. The house has clean, updated kitchen and baths, but still retains the character of a home that's been in the family for generations. Well done, Bill, and thank you so much!

Lovely Location Didn't Quite Make up For Cons

We stayed at this Lake George home for our annual girls’ reunion weekend, time that is precious to us since we are working mothers with young children and some of us travel very far to make it happen. This is a lovely home in a great area. But we had a couple of disappointments during our stay that weren’t adequately addressed by the owner. We probably would not recommend this rental. PROS: -Spacious, newly updated home right on the lake. -Located at the end of the road, so little traffic (except for the house next door – more on that in the CONS section) -big yard with Adirondack chairs for sipping cocktails and looking out at the lake (and the two families of ducks that reside there) -nice fire pit CONS: -We woke up to construction every morning at 8 a.m. They were building a boat launch at the house next door and used power drills every morning. Apparently the owner knew this work was scheduled but neglected to inform us. Again, his response was lightly apologetic. -We had to pay a linen fee, which was fine except that at least one set of sheets wasn’t clean when we got there (sand in the bed)! When pressed on the issue, the owner refunded us one quarter of the linen fee. -We still had to bring our own towels, including hand towels for the bathroom. (There were dishtowels in the kitchen, however.) -There is a rather major insect and rodent infestation in the front bedroom. There was a huge pile of dead (or dying) flies on the window sills, on the table near the window, and behind the dresser. There were also baby mice struggling to survive. When informed about the mice, the owner’s (not very prompt) response was, “Sorry about that.” We understand that sometimes things happen -- bugs and mice do proliferate in wooded areas -- but the owner's responses to these issues was a tad unconcerned.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Our Grandparents built this house on beautiful Lake George. As the story goes, Alexander and Belle came up from New York City in the 20’s and rented a summer cottage on Diamond Point. They decided to explore the yet undeveloped east side of the lake by row boat. While on the water, a storm blew-in and this beach was the only place they could pull the boat to land. They loved what they found and inquired of its availability.

It just so happened that this area of the lake was a land grant from King George III to the Oakley Estate (locals who favored the King) with the stipulation from the King that the tall pine trees remain available to the crown for ship masts. The property was purchased in 1926. With the help of his brother-in-law Judd, who was an engineer by trade, they built the original cottage. In the late 1960’s, as the family continued to grow, the main cottage had a major renovation and the second cottage was built.

Alexander was a prolific painter who’s works you’ll enjoy throughout the house. His daughter painted his portrait that hangs on the porch. Five generations have grown up here with lasting memories. Our grandparents had a dream, to create a gift on Lake George for their family to enjoy for generations. We hope by sharing this dream with you, you will come to appreciate all the beauty that is Lake George.
