## Emplacement
La Rochelle is a coastal town in south-western France and the prefecture of the Charente-Maritime département. It has been a fishing and trading center since the 12th century, a maritime tradition that is reflected in its Vieux Port and its huge, ultramodern marina: Les Minimes.
