Worst Overall Rental Experience
My friend and I booked this property months in advance and received confirmation of our stay from the host. We had not heard from the host within 48 hours of the beginning of our stay so we decided to reach out to her for check-in information. It was at that time that she told us that her property was no longer available for us to stay in. We were already in Hawaii and now had no accommodation so we asked the host to help us find a solution to this last minute problem. She suggested another property in a similar location and stated that it would be an upgrade from the property we had originally booked. She also informed us that the new host was "graciously" honoring the original price we had paid as opposed to her "actual" pricing. We later found out that the price of the new property was less than what we paid for Ana's property, so we felt extremely misled. This new unit compared to the unit we initially booked through Ana was not comparable at all and would not be sufficient for our stay. We contacted Ana to express these concerns and we were met with no assistance. She recommended we book another accommodation that was more than four times as expensive as hers. We then had to find a new accommodation on our own and ended up paying several thousand dollars extra. We felt extremely disappointed with how Ana handled the situation and received no assistance from VRBO despite being cancelled on less than 48 hours in advance.
