Willkommen auf unserer Bürgerkriegsfarm! In günstiger Lage auf einem 1,6 Hektar großen landschaftlichen Gelände, nur 8 km vom Gettysburg National Battlefield entfernt. Es stehen 2 wunderschöne Einrichtungen zur Verfügung, die alle mit modernen, komfortablen Möbeln eingerichtet und mit Erinnerungsstücken und Antiquitäten aus dem Bürgerkrieg akzentuiert sind. Eine restaurierte Scheune von 1810 mit 2 Schlafzimmern für bis zu 5 Personen und ein restauriertes Steinhaus aus dem Bürgerkrieg von 1831 mit 3 Schlafzimmern für bis zu 8 Personen. Sie können entweder das Steinhaus oder die Scheune oder beides mieten. Die Preisgestaltung basiert auf einer Basis pro Einrichtung.
Unsere Mietpreise für jede Einrichtung sind:

Nov-Apr .. $ 325 / Nacht / Objekt (mindestens 2 Nächte) .. $ 2000 / Woche / Objekt.
Mai-Okt .. $ 400 / Nacht / Objekt (mindestens 2 Nächte) .. $ 2500 / Woche / Objekt.

Alle Preise unterliegen 6% Pennsylvania Sales Tax & 5% Adams County Tax. Bei Anmietung der Scheune und des Steinhauses gewähren wir 10% Ermäßigung. Der Check-In ist ab 15:00 Uhr und der Check-Out bis 11:00 Uhr möglich.

In der Nähe der Innenstadt von Gettysburg (ca. 8 km) zum Wandern auf dem Schlachtfeld, mit Bussen oder privaten Touren, Geschäften, Theatern, Restaurants und Golfplätzen. Viel Geschichte und viel zu tun, einschließlich des Erlebens eines bewirtschafteten Bauernhofs mit Vieh-, Wein-, Kräuter-, Blumen- und Gemüsegärten in der Saison, zusammen mit Heu, Mais / Sojabohnen und einem Wanderweg zu unserem Old Spring Head aus dem Jahr 1700 als Indianer das Land besetzten. Sie können auch den Pool genießen und unser restauriertes 1942 Caboose Museum besichtigen. Sie können in unserem Pavillon picknicken oder einfach auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf die Weiden und Hügel sitzen und das Vieh grasen sehen. Very interesting place

Great place to stay if you are visiting Gettysburg.Tom the owner is great host and greets you personally and gives you a tour of property. Also very knowledgeable about the civil war. We are a biking group and this home is great for road riding right from the home. If you have any problem Tom Is right there to help you. We rented both the home and the barn. We were disappointed in the distance between both houses. A family with small children may have a hard time staying there because of so many things to look at but not to be touched.Two lovely homes.

Spacious Gettysburg Retreat

What a wonderful stay! Property was spacious, a great place to start your morning with a quiet walk, come back to a large kitchen and prepare breakfast, and then sit one of two tables to enjoy it with family. Property is well maintained and is located about 4 miles from gas stations, grocery stores, and fast food. It was perfect for our 6 guests ... if you decide to book, take lots of pictures, you might might be surprised what you see!

Perfect!

Family and friends gathered to spread the cremains of a loved one at Gettysburg Battlefield. We stayed at both the historic house and barn with plenty of room to spare. The grounds were breathtakingly beautiful. It was such a unique and interesting place. We had all the amenities at our disposal, including the pool. The host was so friendly and accommodating. The whole experience could not have been more perfect for our group and for the whole reason for our trip. I would absolutely book this site again.

Beautiful and quiet

Where do I start. If I could give a 10 star raring I would. The owner of this property is amazing. He is very through on getting you checked in (with a complete walk thru of house and farm property, including the caboose) and what the history is behind his property and all of Gettysburg (I wished all owners were like Tom, very caring of his guests). If you love history this is the place to stay more than the others out there. He can and will answer all your questions you might have (tons of knowledge about the civil war with his property and surrounding area). The property is amazing. We stayed in the stone house which sits along the road. The Barn that is a separate place to stay is back at the barn which is close to the swimming pool. There is plenty of space and lots of deer to see in the morning and evening. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows for your needs. There are beach towels for use already at the house. Also use the deck which the 2 back bedrooms have their door go right out onto it. You can see the stars so clear. No light noise means more stars. I will defiantly stay there again.

Nice spot for Gettysburg or quiet retreat

First, the property pictures are somewhat misleading. The primary property is 500 yards from the pool, the barn and the garden. Second, the primary property is somewhat of a museum, with wax figures, scores of antiques and antiquated TVs. This is not a property for multiple small children. Overall, we were pleased with the accommodations. The wifi was spotty and required numerous resets. There were also quite a few notes about what you were allowed to touch and not touch. I would recommend this property for an older clientele who is more interested in the property as a base for Gettysburg events.

Lovely get away

The host made us feel very welcome. He was a wealth of knowledge on the Gettysburg area and the Civil War. Both homes were lovely, filled with period antiques and museum pieces. Our littles were fascinated with the "statues" and were able to look and not touch. If you enjoy chatting about local history or just having it as a landing pad... it's lovely!!

Beautiful location for a family get together

There are two properties available, and we reserved both. We split our family between the two houses, which worked well for us. The long driveway between makes for a nice walk or jog for guests. Both locations had large, well-equipped kitchens, gathering areas, and Civil War-themed decor. We appreciated the historic layout quirks of the main house, and the renovated barn had some fun features - like the large but cozy living room with a relaxing fireplace and the downstairs sports den. The hosts were friendly, gracious, and responsive. It was a much better experience than other VRBO locations we have visited recently. -- Highly recommended -- We visited for our winter holiday, but we want to try out that pool next time.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend

With beautiful surroundings in an area where you can feel the history, and perfect hosts - you couldn’t have a better combination. Close enough to Gettysburg to be there in minutes, having two wonderful homes to stay in (we slept in both the barn and the Stone House, using the Stone House as our gathering point and HQ. Both were very historic, very comfortable and rather unique with historical artifacts all throughout each. Including wax figures of some of the people you have heard about in history lessons. Our only wishes were that the stone house and the barn were closer together or that maybe there could have been a golf cart to shuttle between the buildings. Please note - not a complaint but a wish. Tom gave us a history lesson our first night there as part of the checkin and it really helped us to understand what happened and where it happened. When you can go to the upstairs deck and see a mountain it is one thing. When you are shown that it is Little Round Top and its significance in the battle, it paints a new picture entirely. We had a great stay in what I will always remember as being a live-in civil war museum with a very unique sports annex (if you like sports memorabilia, heaven is at the bottom of a spiral staircase in the barn. )

Perfect Location to Visit Gettysburg Battlefields

Tom and Carol Newhart were perfect hosts. Out party stayed in both properties. Each property was extremely well equipped, tidy and quite interesting! Each has historic items incorporated into the decorations. The views are stunning. Access to downtown Gettysburg or Littletown is extremely easy. Looking forward to a return visit.

THE PERFECT PLACE

Stayed with fellow bicycling enthusiasts. Had a wonderful time cycling various loops from the VRBO as well taking short drives to other departure spots. Did about 350 miles during our stay. This area is a cyclists paradise. Almost no traffic especially between 9 AM and 3 PM. Miles and miles of country roads with varied terrain. Lots of history to explore as well as exploring Hanover, the "snack capital of the world". Beautiful country setting. Quiet and peaceful. For my group it was the perfect facility. We could not have wanted for better.

Great family vacation

We were looking for a place to stay that was close to historic Gettysburg but would also have space and entertainment on site for three children 2,5, and 8. This place was perfect for us. The stone house where we stayed was a museum on its own with great attention to detail. There is a lot to read and explore right there at the house. A large back yard and deck for kids to run around and play, a long well maintained blacktop driveway for bike riding. The main house and grounds were absolutely beautiful and very relaxing and a larger clean pool was there for some great times beating the heat. Beds were comfortable and amenities inside were straight forward and clean. The TVs were a little dated but were perfectly functional, besides we did not go to Gettysburg to watch TV. Overall

Lovely stay at an incredible property!

I stayed for 4 nights with my 4 kids, along with my best friend and her 2 kids. We all had a fantastic time. The house and barn were clean and equipped with everything we needed, along with linens and towels, which are a huge plus when staying with so many people! We even had a washer and dryer, and detergent, to wash whatever we needed. The pool was really fun, and the grounds/farm are so beautiful. The garden was so pretty, and the walk from the house to the barn is so peaceful. The houses had so much history and character. We would definitely highly recommend staying here.
