A perfect getaway

Winter getaway

We traveled to Old Orchard during February break. While OOB didn’t have a lot going on we were able to travel around Maine with an oceanfront home base. The beach was nearly empty for daily walks, plenty of sunshine to bundle up and sit on the upper deck in, and a lot of snow! We did enjoy a nor’easter while we were there. The driveway was cleared the next day and the front stairs were cleaned. We did have to do the deck out back to enjoy it. The house has everything you could need for a rental. It was a great week with plenty of space, fresh air, and cozy beds.

Winter Wonderland

It was a beautiful, snowy two weeks. Exactly what i was looking for. The house was super cozy. The location was amazing. A beautiful sunrise over the ocean greeted me every morning and a stroll on the beach was right out the door. Couldn't recommend enough.

Exceeded Expectations - Family Getaway

This was one of the most spectacular properties we have ever stayed at. We came "off season" but found plenty to do every day within an hour drive. Hiking at Bradbury Mountain, Harbor sunset sailboat cruise, great local cuisine, and live music at The Brunswick. And, my favorite, swimming in the ocean and walking the beach right from the house. Morning coffee and evening relaxing on his top balcony overlooking the ocean was amazing. And, the sunrise was absolutely breathtaking. When we were chillin inside, playing Pacman (and other arcade games on the video game), the small pool table & ping pong table was the icing on the cake. There are so many amenities for cooking, daily usage items such as glasses & dishes, beach play (beach towels, boogie board, beach chairs) and even an outdoor shower WITH WARM WATER so we could keep the sand out of the house. We had 5 people for 5 days and I never heard an "I'm board" once as there was plenty to do right where we were. Richard - thank you for putting your home on VRBO so we could enjoy it as we did. If we ever return to Maine, I hope your place is available so we can stay there again.

Hidden Gem!

The location is only steps from the beach & sits right along the sand dunes.The cottage has sweeping views of the ocean & Old Orchard Beach from the deck, yet feels very private & secluded by the surrounding mature, foliage.It's very nicely appointed & extremely well supplied, they thought of everything! It's surprisingly large inside and there was lots of room for our family to spread out and relax! The garage is perfect for leaving your beach supplies. We really loved this amazing, hidden gem!

Special Treat

This is our third year staying here….and we’ve already booked for next year. This place has the location, privacy as well as plenty of room for three families (two daughters, spouses and granddaughter) to spread out and enjoy our special week. The facility is exactly as stated and pictured.

Yearly family vacation

We have stayed here 2 years as a family vacation. The location is amazing right on the beach. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Garage is great to put your sandy beach supplies. A large deck to watch the fireworks or just have a drink together. The house has everything you need!

Great location!

Everything was great with the house for us. It worked perfectly with the set up. The only thing I would have to say negative would be the bathrooms need some updating. There are two bedrooms in the basement which it worked for us because of our situation. The listing says there is a queen and a king bed but fortunately for us, the upstairs bedroom and the downstairs bedroom both had king-size beds. The other bed in the basement was quite a bit smaller maybe a full.. and is attached to the other bedroom with two exits. The bunk room was excellent for our kids…slept 6 kids comfortably.

Great space right on the beach

We had a great time at this house and would definitely return. Location was perfect, right on the beach with the access boardwalk over the dunes right outside the front door. The balcony was a great place to sit and relax. Plenty of space inside with a nice finished basement. Kitchen was stocked with supplies and staples, and the good amount of beach equipment was appreciated too. Suited our family’s needs perfectly - great spot for kids.

Great beach location!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the ocean view cottage. The view of the ocean and proximity to the beach are unbeatable. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. We would definitely love to visit again, and highly recommend this spot to anyone considering a beach spot in OOB!

Nice older place; great location

Squeaky wood floors added to the charm of this well used "Nest" in the dune. Roof deck hosts beautiful sunrises. Lower deck could use a power wash. Lower level large dehumidifier was loud. Beds were comfortable. All things necessary functioned well. Great getaway. Would stay there again!

Perfect getaway

Wonderful experience. Four of us from out of state got a beautiful introduction to Maine. We woke up to beautiful sunrises on the deck, stayed comfortably with all necessary amenities in a very clean home, and had everything we needed for our week's stay.

Met our expectations

This was as advertised and served the purpose of our family get away for New Years Holiday. Yes it was off season, and very quiet, but that was our desire. We have been to Old Orchard Beach during peak season and we wanted something different from that. Still plenty of tourist interests were open for us out-of-towners to enjoy. The owner was very responsive to all of our questions. No problems at all!

The house was great. Perfect location on the beach! Comfortable and well equipped. Only complaint was we had no idea that the town would be shut down for the season at the time of our stay. Was disappointing and had a hard time finding places to eat.

Location, Location, Location!

Beautiful spot right on the beach! The location couldn't have been more perfect for access to the beach and the magnificent sunrises. The dual decks were great for relaxing with a lovely view of the water. The house was very well appointed with all the supplies we needed. The lower level was nicely laid out but unfortunately we weren't able to utilize the space due to the mustiness. I have severe asthma and allergies so couldn't be downstairs for more than a few moments without heavily sneezing. For anyone without these issues, however, it's a great space with two bedrooms, an area to lounge, and games. I did message Richard upon arrival asking how to control the television downstairs as we couldn't locate the remote but never received a response to this question. I didn't ask again as I quickly realized we wouldn't be spending time downstairs. I was also surprised to not hear from our host in regards to arrival instructions until I messaged him on the day of our stay, and also didn't receive any communication before or after checkout. Perhaps I'm just used to more correspondence from past stays with VRBO hosts, but certainly not a reason to refrain from booking. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and see why guests continue to return! Cheers!

Comfortable, peaceful,Great location and view .

Enjoyable stay. Great view from high deck. Quiet location right on the beach. My family had a wonderful get together in Old Orchard Beach,, Saco and Portland . Great kitchen space ,nice gathering space with comfortable furniture. The bathrooms are small but there are Plenty of towels. Four parking places was also nice. Would rent again.

Couldn’t Be Happier!

Absolutely perfect for group (5 adult cousins). The house has all the comforts of home! We were surprised at how many things were already stocked. Love the dual Keurig coffee maker (by the cup or pot). Very clean, tastefully decorated and a view of the sun rising over the ocean and the sound of the waves from the top deck. Every question was answered quickly! Thank you!
