Sweet home

Das Haus liegt ideal um in den Cape Breton Highlands zu wandern. Sehr ruhige Gegend mit kleinem Hafen.

Great spot!

Great location when youre travelling the Cabot Trail! The hosts are very kind and answer quick. Very clean, very cozy, hot tub is an added bonus and perfect way to relax after hiking. We would stay again if we are in the area.

Perfect Place

The Mactoimin Cottage was perfect for us. We were out early every morning for hikes and back late in the day. A couple days we were back early for coffee on the porch and soaks in the hot tub. Heavenly. The best part perhaps was that we were three minutes from the sunsets on the beach! Stunning. We did not do any cooking, other than coffee. I was a wee bit surprised how close to the road we were, but there were barely any cars that went by. The owners were so kind, even when I called one night at 8:30 p.m. to report I had lost the key on one of our hikes! Very gracious. The place worked perfectly for us, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Communication was perfect. The place was incredible. Pictures and descriptions were accurate. Pleasant Bay is gorgeous. Do not hesitate for a second to rent this wonderful place from these incredible people!

Cozy Highlands Hiking Home

Cozy & comfortable home base just outside Cape Breton Highlands Nat'l Park. Easy & beautiful drive to anywhere you want to be around the coast & Highlands. We enjoyed the hot tub after long days hiking and exploring. The property is well maintained and Brian & Elizabeth are excellent hosts – quick to respond and very helpful. We very much appreciate their suggestions for things to see & do! Thank you Brian & Elizabeth! We had a wonderful visit and hope to return and explore more of this beautiful part of the world! 🌎😎☯️✌

Excellent communication, place was spotless! Coffee, tea, and milkers were provided which was very much appreciated. Property was well kept and hot tub was in great condition (water was heated before we arrived). Would definitely recommend.

Pleasant Bay Cottage

The host was friendly and welcoming. The cottage is small (1 room + bath). It is clean and cozy. It can sleep 4 but it is very tight quarters. It is located close to amenities.

Clean basic accommodations. Cooking options limited but okay given lack of places to buy food. The cottage is a little small small given the amount of furniture. In the future I would opt to stay in Cheticamp where there is more lodging, restaurants etc.

Nice little cottage, has everything you would need. The harbour and restaurants are close by. We saw some whales swim past the harbour on our way out for supper

The owners did a great job communicating with us about check-in and answering questions. The cottage was well-outfitted and very clean/tidy. However, it did feel small/cramped for even two adults with luggage. We managed, but it was very tight. As well, the bathroom is very crammed, particularly the toilet which faces the tub with only a few inches of clearance. Taller folks will be uncomfortable. We had trouble closing the blinds in the bathroom which was necessary because the glass isn't frosted and there were people sitting outside directly behind the cottage. We appreciated how well stocked the kitchen is, how well the heating/AC unit worked, and the location which was walking distance to a restaurant, whale watching etc.

We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was close to everything we wanted to see and do while in Pleasant Bay. Very well, appointed, and the hot tub was an extra treat after driving all day!

We really liked staying at the Mac Toimin Cottage! The cottage itself is very well equipped and makes very smart use of it’s square footage! Our hosts were wonderful communicators, checking in on us, through email, after we arrived and making sure we were comfortable. The hot tub was a highlight for us after a 7hr flight followed by a 4hr drive! We’d highly recommend!

Cute and Cozy Cottage

We stayed for 2 nights here. Was the perfect location for our stay on Cape Breton. Pleasant Bay was close to all the sites that we had planned on the trip. The cottage was cozy for 2 adults and had all the amenities. It even had a private hot tub!! You are steps to the stores and a short drive or walk to the harbour.
