The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

The unit itself was warm and inviting, and very cozy. However, upholstered sofa and loveseat are worn, soiled, and need to be replaced. The mattresses are horrible, particularly in the small bedroon( twin beds). The bathrooms need to be updated...and shower glass was loose in the master BR. I don't mind paying $200+ for a cleaning fee, but this unit was not what we have been used to in other vacation stays. The carpet needs to be cleaned/replaced. I discovered how dirty the tile floors were, when I had to wipe the bathroom floor to find a contact lens. The tissue I used was grey. This unit needs a deep cleaning. There were several lights out(fridge, microwave, bathroom, a lamp). Maintanence man was there very quickly to address this issue. We stopped at the office as we were leaving to mention these issues, and were told that the unit has been recently sold. The owner will be coming to HHI very soon. Hopefully, there are plans to renovate. I will be watching for updates. I would stay here again if the unit is updated.As far as the lack of cleanliness, I know that help is really short at this time, but this should be taken into consideration when assessing cleaning fees.
