Lake front property, quaint and cozy with enclosed sunroom that has a full size futon that will sleep 1 adult or 2 kids. There is a spacious deck overlooking the lake with table seating for 6 and a comfy seating area with an optional large umbrella for shade. There is also a charcoal grill for your convenience and a hammock in the back yard to relax in. You’ll enjoy your own sandy beach area and boat dock with a swim platform for kids and adults Alike. There is also a private boat slip with electric for your boat. We also have 14 foot fishing boat with tiller steering for rent at $150/daily. Messick Lake is a fishing lake that is attached to 4 other lakes you can easily access by boat- 2 others that are also fishing lakes and 2 that are fish and ski lakes with no curfew on tubing or skiing. You’ll also find a restaurant you can access by boat on one of the lakes! The cabin although small is comfortable and enjoyable with 2 bedrooms - 1 with a queen size bed and 1 with a full size bed. There is AC and heat in the cabin for your comfort. The living room has an oversized chair, couch that could sleep 1 adult or kif, 1 futon that can sleep 2 adults, and upon request we can provide 2 extra cots. The cabin is fully stocked with a full size fridge, stove, coffee pot (we provide the filters), pots and pans and silverware, just bring your food and beverages! The beds have clean and fresh linens, and weekend stays will enjoy 6 clean bath towels while full week stays will enjoy 10 clean bath towels. There are Adult (2 included) and kid Kayaks (2 available and included), additional kayaks ($12) to rent as well as well as a canoe ($15). There are many walking trails and parks nearby to enjoy and local restaurants. There is also a nice boat launch next to the property! Bring floating devices or noodles to lounge in lake on and enjoy your stay!

Peaceful Lake Home

We loved our visit here. We took our Beagles with us and had a wonderful time on the lake. It was peaceful and the neighbors were all friendly. Loved the little home which had everything we needed for our stay.

Relaxing Family Vacation Spot

This property was ideal for our family vacation with 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. It was very relaxing, we were able to sit on the deck and watch the grandkids enjoy the beach. The propery owners went above and beyond to accommodate our grandkids love of swimming when they where having work done to the beach area. We made it home and we are already planning a return trip in the fall.

Family Trip

The stay was Great. Host was Great. Would be a perfect spot when weather is warmer to enjoy the lake. The only thing that would have been good is a little table or card table to be able to play games inside, could not find a light to play on outside table. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

Great place while RV in the shop

Absoluteky the perfect cabin on a lake. Super comfy and cozy. View of the lake was awesome. I still work full time remotely, so set up laptop and monitor on snack bar, best office veiw. Hosts are wonderful and can call them with any question. Shipshewana is close by, a cute Amish town. We definately will come back. Thank you, is was perfect. We had 2 little dogs, they loved watching squirrels, birds and playing.

Wonderful getaway

We loved the coziness of the cabin. Our host was so friendly. We even met the dogs which made my day. There is a calming view of the lake. We also got to have a beautiful fire. Definitely would recommend this place.

What a gem!

Our experience on Messick Lake was outstanding! Deirdre was such an accommodating host and the cabin was lovely with plenty of amenities and the best view ever. My family, (including the dog,) had a wonderful time, there was something for everyone! We would love to rent this lake house again in the future :)

Cute cottage!

This place is so cute, relaxing and peaceful. Exactly as described. The view is so pretty! Everything you need is here. Communication with the owner was excellent! The owners are very nice and love their dogs too! We were so glad to be able to take our dog with us. We would definitely come back and highly recommend!!

Piece of heaven

Me and my family enjoyed every seconds of our stay here. Very cozy place. Comfortable and the owner Deandra is nice. We always have visitor the property supervisor GUS (dog) he is such a sweet fur baby. If u like fishing this is the right place for u. One thing i like is its so quiet. We will be back again for sure!

Girls trip

Great trip! House is cozy and back porch is wonderful. A few light bulbs/ light switches didn’t work throughout the house and there is not a dishwasher so recommend bringing paper products unless you want to do dishes by hand. We also needed more trash bags and toilet paper. Overall we had a great time and the host was awesome! Weather wasn’t the warmest so we sat by fire pit a lot and enjoyed the lake views!

Nice place to relax

Nice location in the heart of Amish country - we saw more horse and buggies in our 5 days there than we have in our entire lives. We made day trips to Fort Wayne and Shipshewana and had a great time. The beach area was perfect for my kids to dig in the sand. It wasn’t quite warm enough to swim. The cottage could have been cleaned a little better as there was thick dust on all the fans and in the wooden cracks of the walls. Also, be aware there is no indoor dining area for more than 3 people. And wow, there are so many electrical switches. We still don’t know what some of them controlled and couldn’t figure out how to turn on one of the overhead fans. Labeling the switches would be so helpful! The fridge would intermittently pop open for no apparent reason, so we ended up putting one of our bins in front of the door. We met the owners while we were there (they live next door) and they were very friendly and tried to answer most of our questions.

Lovely weekend getaway

We loved our stay here! The house had everything you could need. The cabin itself was clean and cute but the outdoor space was the highlight of our trip. The lake is beautiful and so peaceful. The bonfire area with chairs was so nice for us to have in the evenings. The deck is perfect for all meals. The house itself stayed cool enough to be comfortable when inside. Our hosts were responsive and very helpful to all of our needs. We have already talked about coming back next year. Thank you!!

cute, clean log cabin on quiet, beautiful lake

We enjoyed a relaxing stay. The log cabin was really cute and very clean. The lake is pretty quiet as most boats head out to the larger lake it is connected too. We enjoyed kayaking and Diedra was a lovely host, easy to ask questions of as they live next door.

Lakeside cabin

The cabin was small and cozy located in Amish country. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with us but otherwise it was a pleasant stay. I did appreciate the two takeout menus being put out for us for ease of use. We had a coffee maker mishap (the one in the cabin was not operational), the owner is conveniently located next door and went above and beyond bringing us a freshly made pot. The owner is very responsive through the VRBO APP. One suggestion, I would recommend curtains or blinds for the side window of the living area due to the owners windows being in direct view. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Peaceful retreat

Two ladies in our early 60s…Met my friend of 50 years for “catch-up” time. The lovely lake (kayaks-amazing fall day for use_fantastic!) perfect night at fire pit, she told us which house on the road sold firewood . Scenic views for morning coffee. Owner was SUPER at commutation- we had questions on use/location of light switches & heat…actually had me call her to explain. She was open to (future)putting a little booklet in cabin to point out how to use these, including a few eateries, and points of interest/ activities nearby. We had an enjoyable stay meeting our purpose of long chats and outdoor fun!

Quick getaway from Indy

Very nice and cozy little cabin. We took out pontoon boat for a relaxing weekend. The dock and swimming area was perfect for the boat and our 2 labs. Made a nice fire in the fire pit and had steaks on the grill. It was a nice weekend. The beds could be softer but we enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely lake cottage in idyllic setting

We had a wonderful time relaxing and recreating here. The lake is pristine and quiet with many birds, including swans and herons . So appreciated the complimentary use of two kayaks, plus ability to rent a canoe from owners . Meals on the deck and nearby eateries rounded out the fun. Loved driving thru the countryside and seeing many beautiful Amish farms, horse drawn plows and carts in motion and visiting nearby Shipshewana. Hosts were very responsive and private setting is a treat. . A great little find for a couple getaway!
