Beautifully renovated old stone house in the quiet village of Robion. We loved the well-equipped and modern kitchen, terrific terraces, spacious bedrooms/living area, and the whimsical welded artwork sprinkled throughout. Not only a talented artist and builder, our host Fabien was most friendly, attentive, and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early, and check out late. And though he was more comfortable in French than English, he gave us lots of tips for where to eat and what to see. Lots of printed tourist info and brochures were also made available. Compared to the busier touristy towns and villages of Provence we are used to, Robion is a nice quiet base from which to enjoy the best of the Luberon by car. You'll have to drive to better restaurants in Taillades (we highly recommend L'Atelier l'Art des Mets, 5 min. away) and beyond. But there is a cafe on Place Clément Gros, some 50m from the house, and within a 10-minute walk are a nice takeout pizzeria, small supermarket, terrific charcuterie, very nice organic fruit/vegetable/cheese shop with a small wine cellar, and a bakery . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Some of the streets up to the house are very narrow, and we made the mistake of following our GPS into Robion from the east side and down rue du Four. Had we been driving anything bigger than our VW Golf, we'd have not squeezed through. I'd recommend coming in from rue Oscar Roulet and parking in Place Clément Gros or Place de l'Eglise, some 50 metres from the house. Lots of free parking. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Fabien!
