This old school cottage fit our needs well! Great for the dogs, access to different areas and communication with Sarah was great. Washer and dryer with dogs would be helpful but not a game changer! Would stay again!

Great Retreat with our Dog, Maddie

It was a great location. Plenty of room for the dog to run and sleep. Tired her out before we spent time on our own. Also, plenty of places nearby to walk her including the fort. Host was very quick to respond. Great experience.

Wonderful Vacation Spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It’s like the coziest little cottage on the sound. Caught some nice fish off the dock and the boys had a blast. Would definitely come back! Sarah the host was so kind and accommodating always checking in to see how things were. We are grateful!

perfect family getaway

Our family of 4 and two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the beach. The cottage has a homey and well loved feel and the view is unmatched! We all enjoyed the large yard while the kids played in the water off the dock. We are all ready to return next summer.

The Cottage

We have been to this area many times and it never disappoints. This is our first time staying at this particular property and we would stay here again. The host checks on you periodically to see how your stay is going. The views of the sound never gets old. We love fishing off the pier and the hammock was a big hit.

Wonderful family home

This property made it easy to relax. It has a large yard which we enjoyed with our dogs. The neighborhood is also walkable. The home is furnished comfortably for an enjoyable stay, and the location is convenient to shopping and restaurants. The owner is very welcoming and quick to respond. We would stay here again.

Wonderful!

We have booked many vacations on VRBO and there is almost always something about the property that is misleading or not what you expect based on the listing. The Cottage was the wonderful exception! Salty cottage

Great 3 day weekend! The neighborhood is quiet. Once arrive I didn’t go in the house just laid in hammock looking at sound. The house has a lot of windows in back face the sound. At night could see inland across sound lit up The beds slept great, good water pressure in showers. Owners quick to respond to needs. Will definitely stay again!

Stayed for a wedding

My friends and I stayed for a wedding at the nearby military base. Checkin and check out was so easy. Cutest house and on the sound with a beautiful view. We spent a night out on the dock just star gazing and it was so beautiful!! Easily a memory I will never forget with my friends staying at this house. I would highly recommend!!

Great beach house

The house was just what we needed. It was spacious, large back yard for my family and our dogs. The dock was a plus, as we love to fish. Beautiful view. Beds were comfy. The neighborhood was nice and safe. We meet a view neighbors, they were friendly. We would definitely stay again. We loved the cookies left for us.

Nice place

House was very clean and great view of the sound. Really enjoyed walking out on the pier. Couple of things we didnt like was no blinds or curtains in the TV and sitting area. It gave no privacy. It looked like it did have blinds at one time but they have been removed. We would have liked solid doors on the bathrooms instead of the shutter kind. You can hear everything going on in the bathroom but that is just personal preference The gutters could use some repair. One area there is a plant growing out of the gutter. No dishwasher. All of this did not affect our stay, I would stay here again and will.

Beautiful and Perfect Location

There wasn't a better location and yard for a family with kids and a dog. The house was exactly as described, an older home left down through the generations but on a gorgeous piece of property. This part of the sound side was perfect for playing in the water with a dog and young kids. They had such a blast searching for clams, oysters and anything else. There is a sand bar during the day at low tide that the boys just loved! The house was clean and provided all necessities. The owners were very quick in returning messages...and left us some yummy treats that my boys devoured the first night :) due to this house and location, we now prefer to stay here versus on emerald isle. Everything was just so close! We visited the island, Fort Macon, Beaufort and took a ferry to Shakleford Island (saw horses and got some beautiful conch shells and sand dollars). All attractions and restaurants were less than 20 minutes away with grocery stores 3 minutes away. We even took a quick trip Wilmington to visit the battleship :)
