Great location- Extreme Musty odor
We arrived at rental unit C about 9pm on 8/11/24. Immediately upon opening the door we could smell a horrible musty odor. Water damage on kitchen ceiling.
We alerted the homeowner immediately. She was very accommodating and offered us Unit B in the same building. Unfortunately, it also had an extreme musty odor. Then she offered us a property that was vacate on S. Oak.
S.Oak was clean (for the most part) and had no odor. The showers/Shower curtains were full of pink slime, so we had to pick up cleaning supplies and new shower curtains before we could shower.
On day 2 the dishwasher would not drain. Homeowner was quick to send out "her guy" to fix the issue.
On day 3 we invited friends over for a BBQ. We couldn't use the grill because it was full of moldy food left behind by another renter. Entire grill was fuzzy mold inside.
Above the kitchen and living room windows was moldy. It appeared that the windows were not installed correctly.
Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was stocked appropriately. Decks were moldy and had a palmetto bug infestation- perhaps the bugs are common for the area.
On the way home we stopped at a rest stop to find bugs in our bags. Appeared to be roaches. Homeowner insists that the bugs are "just Palmatto bugs".... no matter what they are, we do not want to bring them home.
We asked the homeowner to waive the $200 pet fee to make up for all the inconveniences. She refused. We paid the pet fee and we will not return.
