Welcome to your next amazing family vacation! Our home is located in Pocono Summit in a private community on Stillwater Lake. Stillwater Lake is approximately 300 acres: some parts of the lake are 4 feet, while others are 8 or more feet. Over half of Stillwater Lake is occupied by the Boy Scouts of America, at Camp Minsi. Therefore, over ½ of the Lakefront (where you will watch the sunsets) is not developed housing, but rather all-natural forests, adding to the serenity and beauty of your Poconos vacation!
EXTERIOR:
Our property is on ½ of an acre and includes the following beautifully segregated outdoor areas: sitting area of 2 benches and a table located by the brand-new dock, which is perfect for watching sunsets, as they occur in summer months directly across the lake. Next to this area is the walk-in beach, which is updated with new sand every 2 years (this is because the winter storms erode the sand and it needs to be replenished on the dirt and roots - this means that wading into the water is perfect for little feet, and big feet too, of course!). Behind the beach, we have a double swing set, tree house, slide and geometric dome. Perfect for when little kids need to get some energy out! There is also a designated hammock area, with 2 hammocks, each can accommodate up to 400 pounds: for taking family naps after a long day of playing in the water. There is also a patio and fire pit: for making s'mores and relaxing. Please note that this property has vegetation and trees scattered all around, so there are always both sunny spots and as well as shady spots, for those days when it's too hot to be in the sun. And lastly, there is also a shed next to the beach, which includes water toys (buckets, shovels, water noodles and water squirters) as well as life jackets of all sizes, fishing rods, beach lounging chairs, and kids’ chairs. Next to this storage box, you will find the following equipment for water sports: 2 kids’ kayaks, 5 stand-up paddle board (2 are pretty new), and 1 adult kayak. We also have a paddle boat for your use, as well as a dinghy boat (which fits up to 3 adults).
CHANGES TO THIS YEAR:
Please note that we had to get rid of the electric motor for the dinghy boat, as it kept breaking. The dinghy boat is still available, however, with oars. And the saucer swing had to come down, as one of the trees it was attached to, died. We have added 2 new stand-up paddle boards (for a total of 5) for your use. The dining room table has been upgraded to fit 10 comfortably. And we have purchased a new washer / dryer combo appliance, located in the upstairs bathroom. Finally, the Association has asked to move the entrance road into the community - you will be provided instructions after booking.
INTERIOR:
A few years ago, this house has been completely gutted, expanded and updated from its original A-frame and is currently 1,800 square feet. You will find in the small entryway a shoe box and coat closet (which includes ponchos and umbrellas, badminton set including net, and rackets, tennis rackets and balls), next you will enter the modern kitchen with white cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, and an island which accommodates up to 3 seats. The kitchen also includes a pantry, which will be available for your use. The living room includes 2 couches and a TV (with access to both Amazon and Netflix) a DVD / Blu Ray player, as well as several kids and adult DVDs. On the ground floor, is a large bathroom with double vanity sink, and full tub with shower. The house may accommodate only up to 10 persons: 6 adults and 4 children. There are also 2 bedrooms located on this floor: one with a queen bed as well as a child's crib, and another with a full size bed. One of the most amazing features of this house is the beautiful sunroom, as it has large panoramic windows from 3 sides. This is where you will find the dining table, with a brand new larger dining table and chairs allowing seating up to 10 persons. And on the other side of the room, you will find a couch and bookshelf, with too many board games and toys and books to list here!
Upstairs, there is a loft bedroom with 2 trundle beds, accommodating up to 4 people. The hallway bathroom includes a full-size, stacked washer and dryer, as well as another full tub and shower. And lastly, the master bedroom includes a queen bed, small desk (in case you need to check-in at the office), another TV (also with access to Amazon and Netflix), and amazing views of the lake.
COMMUNITY AMENITIES:
The community tennis courts are just a short ¼ mile (just 3 houses!) away. They include 2 courts and a pickle ball court. There is also a very large community public beach, located at the SEPOA Association building, which includes: beach access for swimming, occasionally a lifeguard on duty, several play structures for kids and a basketball court.
