Mittelalter Traum

Das Apartment war sehr schön. Die ganzen Details, die aufwendige Renovierung, alles traumhaft. Das Apartment hat alles was mann für den Alltag braucht, und die Lage ist perfekt. Wir waren vollkommen begeistert und zufrieden. Wir sind dem Gastgeber dankbar, uns diese Gelegenheit gegeben zu haben, dieses Apartment kennenzulernen.

Location and charm

This is such a great place to stay if you want to be central in Paris and to feel old world charm. Plenty of food options right around the corner. Easy to get everywhere via metro, walking or Uber. Hearing the bells of Notre Dame right from the apartment is just so special. Perfect size for a family of 4. Nothing fancy but everything you need. Old world, authentic atmosphere and charm. Would happily stay again.

Disappointing apartment

Apartment was in a great location but in sad condition. David our greeter tried hard. Doorknobs were all falling off, rugs were shredded, washing machine/dryer finally worked after much trouble. People using the same entrance came and went at odd hours of night, and doors always slammed shut! Workers arrived to renovate nearby apts and started early talking right outside our window…..NOT a quiet stay

Perfect location from which to experience Paris

Perfect location within walking distance of Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle. One feels in the heart of Paris. The weather was very cold but the apartment cozy and warm to come home to. A fabulous bistro right next door. Highly recommend.

Christmas Markets

The location of the apartment was perfect for us and what we had planned to do each day. Unfortunately, there is construction work being done on the building and the scaffolding is literally right outside the front door. Between people stomping up the stairs at 1am and workers starting construction at 7:30 am, it was not always peaceful nights. However, that is not something the landlord can control.

Location, location, location

The Ile de la Cite is a really great place to stay - just steps from Notre Dame and lots of restaurants. The metro is nearby, and it's easy to get to loads of sights. The apartment is warm (it was snowy while we were there, so good heating was important!) and has good Wifi. We had a couple of issues, but they were quickly sorted out.

Vacation with friends

Pluses: Location is fantastic! Very close to public transportation. We ate at the two restaurants next door and two other restaurants less than a 5 min walk away-highly recommend them all!! Felt very safe in and around the apt. Cons: The space is worn, the linens/pillows and towels are very worn. The apt can be quite noisy from other residents coming and going. It is not good for anyone with mobility issues. Would we stay again? Yes

Good location however the apartment showers were a bit moldy. Biggest cleaning issue was the dirty sponge at the sink. Washer/dryer instructions not for the machine in the unit.

Great location in quirky apartment

Lots of pluses: Comfortable beds, very quiet in middle of super busy area. 2 boulangeres within 1/2 block for quick breakfasts. very responsive hosts. Don’t miss virtual reality show at Notre Dame 1 block away. Downside: small-best for 2 people-we were 5. Loud repair work nextdoor starts 8AM daily Old broken chair needs to be removed. combo washer/drier load takes 4 hours minimum. mold or mildew in 1 shower and in rainshower head-ick.

The property was amazing! Location, Location, Location! There is a police station a few doors down that I didn't know about and that made us feel super safe. We had our two teen girls with us and felt like they could explore the area safely. The cafes and shops are wonderful. All the people around the area were welcoming. The property was perfect for us since we had our two girls because they had their own room and bathroom. And, the washer and dryer is a HUGE bonus. It was fairly quiet with a little bit of construction going on in the building, but very quiet at night. Staying on the island is the way to go! It's very nice to be close to Paris, but have the feel of a small community. It's very convenient to get to all the trains, taxis, etc. It was just a great experience all around!

Great location!

This apartment is quite charming, not overly fancy, very old in style with wooden beams and stone walls. You really feel the age and warmth of the location. Kitchen and bathrooms were nice. The only trouble we had was the primary bedroom shares its windows with a hallway. Whenever people were walking through this hallway, the lights would illuminate the bedroom. Also, a door that bangs whenever someone walked through it. It was pretty disruptive. Not sure the apartment owner or managers could really do anything about that, luckily we brought earplugs so that helped significantly. Overall though- a really charming spot.

Nice find in a great location

The location is hard to beat. For the center of Paris it's fairly quiet (occasional loud slamming door in the building). 2 bathrooms, comfortable beds. Some of the antique furniture needs a refresh.

Authentic Paris Apartment

We enjoyed our stay on Rue Chanoinesse. There were five of us and we were very comfortable. The location was amazing with many restaurants, boulangeries, and souvenirs shops. Notre Dame is a good landmark when finding your way back to the apartment. Close to metro stop Cité. There were many attractions within walking distance. We found the Parisians very inviting.

Perfect for us!

We chose this apartment because it had two bedrooms, one with twin beds, and two baths, which is hard to find in central Paris. Everything else was a plus, and there were many. Architectural elements and decor. Amenities like a clothes washer. Nice touches like a night light in the master bedroom and bedside lamps on both sides of the beds. Lots and lots of shelves and closet space. It is true that the bedrooms are not equal in size, with the smaller bathroom gorgeous but small. Two couples couldn’t call the two bedrooms equal, but for a family, it was great, especially since the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the living area. David provided a warm welcome and got us settled, and he was available for questions throughout our stay. The street is quiet but just around the corner from all we needed. Go up to rue d’Arcole and turn right…..bakery for morning baguette or croissant, storefront with dessert and sumptuous savory crepes, La Dame de Paris for sandwiches (so big we each had a half) and crepes and sweets. Turn left and get unbelievable gelato at Amorino. Down the street on the same side of the apartment is a mini-market. Since we weren’t cooking meals, we picked up the little things we needed like tea, jam, and cold drinks. Very helpful people. It was an easy walk to a number of metro lines to get one going in all different directions and to many sites themselves. David knows a wonderful driver for airport runs. Would love to have the chance to stay there again!

Ideal Location

We enjoyed our stay. My family (2 adults and 11 year old child) went to Paris for spring break. The apartment is located right next to the Notre Dame, which is an ideal location, and surrounded by wonderful restaurants. Glenn was very helpful. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Paris.

Location!!!!

Literally around the corner from Notre Dame! Walk out the security door and you’reimmediatly know your in Paris. You’re close to metro stations, Notre Dame, Hotel Deville, tons of cafes, restaurants, gelatos, bakeries, doors down from a police station a a Neighborhood market. Yet when you are in the apartment you didnt hear ANY street noise.

Great location in Paris

You can't beat the location of this property, right on the Ile de la Cite near Notre Dame. There are two good restaurants literally next door (one on either side), as well as a mini-market down the street and crepes, sandwiches, ice cream, etc. just around the corner. Two metro stops--Cite and Hotel de Ville--are within easy walking distance. The apartment itself was fine for all of our needs. The beds were comfortable, water pressure/temperature were good and reliable, and the kitchen was equipped with a small refrigerator and range. The air conditioning unit in the common room and the fans in the bedrooms kept the place comfortably cool on warm August days. The layout is a little quirky and the place is small, but that is what you would expect in a centuries-old building in the middle of Paris. It worked very well for the three of us (my wife, me, and our college-age son), and we would definitely return.

Perfect pied a terre to explore Paris

My teen daughter and I spent 2 weeks at this apartment. It was a perfect home base to explore all the city and surrounding areas have to offer. We appreciated the helpful and responsive support from Glenn and David. It was clean and easy to maintain, and the location on Ile de la Cite cannot be beat - you’re within a few blocks of several great neighborhoods + multiple metro lines.

Great location near Notre Dame

We enjoyed our stay at this small apartment. It was a perfect location for walking to so many museums and restaurants, and is located in a quiet neighborhood. The directions in the binder need to be updated (how to use the washing machine and the TV), but David was very responsive when we had questions. The A/C was much appreciated on a few very hot days. Traveling with our two college-aged children, it was a bonus to stay in a place with two bathrooms!
