The twin smokestacks of Moss Landing power station have been an iconic landmark on the Monterey Bay coast for more than 50 years and visible from the property. The home is on secluded water front acreage for a relaxing weekend or romantic getaway. Once you enter the hidden gem in a natural rural setting, you feel like you have stepped into another world. This home is on 9.75 acres surrounded by the Monterey County Marine Sanctuary and visited by wildlife that passes through it daily. Visit and fall in love with Monterey Bay and its barking seals, gliding otters, and rogue waves. Moss Landing Harbor offers delicious meals, shopping, beach and water fun. Santa Cruz, Aptos, Capitola and Monterey Peninsula all within 15-30 minutes. Home has a deck, neighborhood horses and cows, BBQ, and fully equipped kitchen. Big screen smart TV in living room and every bedroom has it's own. Upgraded recently remodeled bath with shower over tub. Two luxurious bedrooms with queen beds complete with fireplaces and queen pull out bed in living room. Fully stocked kitchen ready to prepare your appetizing meals. A washer and dryer is also available. If you like country living, with wide open spaces and wildlife, this is the place for you. There are very few homes in Monterey County which offer so much open space. Come join us for a wonderful retreat from the everyday, truly relax, and see all that this unique place has to offer.

Lovely. Wonderfully stocked kitchen too.

Lovely interior. We used to live in the area so we know the farms and fields scents and brown grasses are normal. Lots of birds to view here. Nice patio and grill area too.

Peaceful and comfortable

We really enjoyed exploring the Moss Landing area. We usually spend time in Pacific Grove, so it was great to getting to know a new area. The dogs loved the open space, but they are escape artists, so we couldn't let them roam free on the property. Island beach was a hit with the dogs and the people.

Wonderful deck and view.

The deck is the best part, especially if it happens to be sunny. Great, relaxing views to go with the comfortable patio furniture. The house is so well furnished, attractive and useful. Extra signage from the main road to the house would’ve been helpful.

Beautiful house

The house was well decorated and a pleasant stay. However, more importantly, our Saint Bernard puppy loved the place. He enjoyed the wide open places he could run around in, all fenced too so we don’t have to worry about him. He liked it, so did we.

Home Away From Home

This property was very comfy and cozy. This property is far enough away from other homes that it feels as if you're on your own private island. Very peaceful and beautiful home to have the perfect getaway. The property manager was extremely friendly and lenient with any questions or requests that I had. We will definitely be returning to this property next time we are visiting this area!!!

Really beautiful location

It is on a very unique location with no other houses around and huge grass fields and you can see the water. There are horses and cows in the next lot. The kitchen is all recently renovated. Very nice place and close to Monterey and Carmel by the Sea.

Just what we needed

We stayed at this property to give my husband a place to heal from back surgery (we normally live in a 5th wheel trailer). It was peaceful and quiet. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the tide come and go. The house had all the amenities and we were extremely comfortable there. Dawn was an amazing host answering questions very promptly and being flexible and understanding with our sometimes unusual needs. I made a mistake prior to our arrival on something and she was very gracious in accepting my apology. I highly recommend this property for a restful stay that is actually quite close to all of the beauty of the Monterey Coast. You can go out and adventure by day and have a wonderful place to stay at night.

Amazing Location

The location of this property is fantastic. Views of the Elkhorn Slough are incredible (some power lines on the hill but didn't bother us.) Since we traveled in April the blooming wildflowers on the hills and around the property were an extra bonus. My 12-year old son loved the horsed on the neighbor's property. They would come to the fence and let him pet their noses (we didn't feed them though as instructed in check-in.) Think it was the favorite part of his trip. Location was perfect for going to both Santa Cruz and Monterey - right in between them. Amenities were very good and the beach theme inside the property was super cute. Owner was very responsive, had one minor issue and response was super quick. Property is perfect for those with dogs - we left ours at home since we had several outings that were not dog friendly but he would have been very happy there if we would have taken him. Thanks for a great stay!

Bird Lover's Paradise

What a unique property, set on nearly 10 acres, minutes from the heart of Moss Landing. The property and surrounding neighborhood was delightful - horses next door, goats, chickens and turkeys on the way in. The property is located right on Elkhorn Slough and is totally fenced in which made bringing our doggy so much easier so he could run and have a great time. The house was cute and well-appointed, as other reviewers had mentioned, but it really needed to be cleaner than delivered. Two cozy bedrooms and one big bathroom, with an open kitchen and living was the perfect size for us. We also thought it could have been a little warmer - nights were in the upper 30's and it was a little chilly, but there were extra blankets. There were literally 100's of birds and the sunrises and sunsets were priceless!

Perfect Place to Relax

We had a wonderful time at this property. It is so gorgeous with a hilltop view of Elkhorn Slough. The house is more than we expected. Well stocked kitchen, very comfy beds, lovely deck very quiet. It is super clean and comfortable. Check in was seamless and the owner was responsive when I had a question. It is a short drive to Monterey so we were able visit the Aquarium and get some beach time. Moss Landing has a couple of nice restaurants and the beach there is gorgeous.

We had a nice stay. I really like this area. The open space and view did not disappoint. It was particularly great for our large dog and kids to run around. I even jogged around the property myself for a bit of exercise. Recommended.

Nice quiet house by the slough

We stayed for a couple of days at this compact but well appointed vacation home. It was raining the whole time so we appreciated the heat! The kitchen had all the key supplies we needed to cook our meals. Our dog enjoyed the large enclosed space (although her paws did get muddy due to the rain!). It's near a couple of large power lines but that didn't bother us. The train line across the slough was fun to watch.

Relaxing and perfect!

We really enjoyed our stay even with toddler and dog. It was so clean, fun and private. We will definitely come back again. Our dog really enjoyed it being able to roam free. We had everything we needed. Host was quick to respond and friendly. Excellent experience.

Small house set among horse and cattle pastures near Elkhorn Slough. Indoor space was small, but well planned. Good mattress in master bedroom and terrific nightlight system for finding your way in the dark. Kitchen small but efficient. About 30 minute drive to Monterey.

Calm and dog eden

My pets are quite elderly and I wanted to take them some place that they can meander and enjoy the outdoors offleash without other dogs or wild animals being an issue. It is completely fenced and you can see in all directions from the front deck of the house. It is very simple but clean with an excellent kitchen.

Great house, convenient to all the places we wanted to visit!

We loved our little oasis in the midst of a long road trip. It was clean, bright and updated with all the supplies we needed. We were a little unsure if we were in the right place, but as soon as we pulled up, opened the door and looked around, we knew we were! The location was great for our planned daytrips north and south. We enjoyed food from a few Moss Landing restaurants. Dawn was incredibly thoughtful and responsive during our stay.

Private, large, beautiful views, great for a relaxing get away. There are no other houses around you with room for everyone to run and play. The neigh-bors in the front of the property are horses and very friendly.
