If you like the quiet of woods near the coast and a place to kayak to the Sound, this is a great place.. Coastal 1920's farmhouse located on a creek which connects to Core Sound. Its a Quiet property wooded with Live Oaks and Pine trees and borders Glover creek. Fish from the shore or take your kayak through the lagoon inlet into Core Sound and explore the coastline. (Sorry we don't supply fishing poles or kayaks but you're welcome to bring yours!). We do have a crab trap that you can throw out and catch blue crabs!
It's a 10 minute drive to Cedar Island. There is a car ferry in Cedar Island to Ocracoke. There is also a Sound side beach on either side of the ferry that's great for kids!
We are 15 minutes from The Cape Lookout Ferry in Davis which can take you and your car or just you to the less visited part of the island (north of the light house) of Cape Lookout National Seashore.
We are 45 minutes from Harkers Island which has people ferries to Cape Lookout National Seashore Light house and or Shackleford Banks. At the Cape Lookout Light house there are beaches on both the sound and Atlantic Ocean side with plenty of shelling. At the visitor center there you can rent a side by side or pay to get taken the point.
An hour away is Fort Macon beach / Atlantic Beach which has miles of beaches and plenty of shelling.
Atlantic Beach is 60 minutes away but there is shopping, restaurants and great beaches!
Beaufort is only 35 minutes away, where you can enjoy shopping and restaurants or take a ferry to Bird Shoals or Shackelford Banks.
The house has 4 bedrooms, and can comfortably accommodate 6 people.
