Or savor authentic Tuscan fare at Landini Brother’s Restaurant, a neighborhood favorite since 1979.
As you pass flickering gas lanterns and impeccably preserved façades, you’ll see for yourself why this remarkable town was named one of the South’s best cities by Southern Living in 2020.
Though you’ll find plenty to keep you busy in Old Town, all the thrilling big-city attractions and cultural institutions of Washington D.C. are a short drive away. This location truly gives you access to the best of both worlds — small town allure and urban excitement.
About Brockett House
When you stay at circa-1808 Brockett House, you’ll find yourself fully immersed in the rich history and inimitable architectural heritage of Old Town. An excellent example of a Federal-Style row home, Brockett House was built by an influential local family, headed by the eldest Robert Brockett, a real estate developer who acquired several lots on the same block now dubbed “Brockett’s Row.” Historic elements are peppered throughout the house, including high ceilings, decorative fireplaces, and wood flooring.
As you enter the house, you’re greeted by a spacious, elegant living room. A separate dining room, adorned with a chandelier and painted a lovely turquoise color, can seat up to 10 guests. The bright, modern kitchen has newer appliances, chic hardware, and a tasteful backsplash.
The second-story master bedroom features a sumptuous king bed and sophisticated décor, plus a newly renovated en-suite bathroom with a freestanding tub, a separate shower, and a washer and dryer. A second large bedroom acts as an expansive suite, boasting a queen bed, a sofa bed, and plenty of space for quiet moments or privacy. The third floor houses a king bedroom as well as a double twin bedroom with a built-in desk that make it ideal for working or distance learning. Full bathrooms are located on both the second and third floors. A quaint outdoor patio with a bistro set and a gas grill gives you a place to unwind when the sun is shining.
