Welcome to Lake Breeze Cottage! This 1600 sq foot 3 bedroom-2 bath attached cottage was recently renovated. It boasts wood floors throughout, with an open concept kitchen/dining/living room with gas fireplace. The master bedroom with king bed and full bath are on the main level, with two additional bedrooms located on the second floor. The “kids room” has two twin beds and a daybed with trundle, and the third bedroom has a queen with daybed as well. Laundry and large bathroom with separate shower area are also upstairs. Spend your mornings drinking coffee and watching the deer from our over sized screened in porch with gas fireplace. Our cottage is tucked back out of the way and with a private feel, but close to everything. Walk to Douglas beach, ride your bike to Lakeshore Drive or Downtown Douglas. Saugatuck and Oval Beach are both a 5 minute drive. There are countless wineries, orchards and breweries to visit.

Great Family Vacation

Our family of 6 adults and one 4 year old had a wonderful time at your home in Douglas. They all loved the accomodations saying it was very comfortable, very clean and the perfect location. Most times we all walked to the beach. Saugatauk was a favorite shopping venue.

Wonderful location in quiet neighborhood

This was our first family vacation to the Douglas/Saugatuck area and we will definitely be back! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! It was an easy walk to Douglas Beach and we loved the spacious screened in porch. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Cottage!! Perfect location!!

This was our first trip to the Douglas/Saugatuck area and we could not haver picked a more perfect spot. The owners were wonderful and extremely helpful!! The cottage was beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. It is a short walk to Douglas Beach and a short drive to Oval Beach (our favorite!!) We cannot wait to visit again, hopefully next year!

Get away

We've been visiting the area for many years, and loved the location. It was the perfect set-up for a family get away with our adult children. Very comfortable house and bedrooms, and the back porch was great too.

Perfection!

I would give this property a million stars if I could. It had every possible thing you would ever need. It’s beautifully decorated and very peaceful there. Great location near the beach and towns of Saugatuck and Douglas. The screened back porch with fireplace is to die for! It’s the perfect place to relax. Hosts Will and Christy were very responsive and welcoming!

Wonderful Stay!

We had a great stay in this lovely house! It was well equipped with everything we needed. We so enjoyed sitting on the back porch, eating dinner and watching the deer! The location is perfect - close to Saugatuck Douglas, the beach and hiking trails. A terrific vacation!

Great visit to Douglas

We love coming to Douglas / Saugatuck annually and truly enjoyed this location and house. Close to Douglas Beach, walk to restaurant or two, and quiet at night. Wonderful experience and hope to be back next year.

We had a lovely time

We had an excellent stay here. The house was comfortable, clean and well-stocked. The screened in patio was the perfect place to drink coffee or play cards in the evening. Hosts communicated quickly. Our boys loved seeing the deer come through the trees into the backyard to hang out too! The house is an easy 10 minute walk to the beach and in close proximity to everything you need. We plan to visit Michigan again next summer and we’ll certainly look for this listing when we start planning.

Lovely Stay

This is our 2nd year staying at this house and it was just as good as the first time! We have a family of 4 with 2 young kids and we were very comfortable here. We love the proximity to the beach and spent a lot of time riding our bikes down Lakeshore Drive. The main bedroom is downstairs which is nice for those who can’t do the steep steps. Our daughter loves the trundle bed upstairs 🙂. We cooked a lot of nights and the kitchen has most of everything you will need. Lots of wonderful memories made.

Very Relaxing Charming Cottage

The name is accurate - this cottage is Charming. We spent 4 nights at the Douglas cottage and loved our stay. We visited for a wedding in the area with my husband and I, our 2 young children, and my parents. The house was set up perfectly for our group (my parents on the main floor and our family upstairs). The upstairs bedrooms are very versatile, comfortable beds and each has a daybed which the kids loved! The house is in a very quiet neighborhood. There's other houses around but the yard still feels very secluded. We loved the screen porch and it really makes the house! - it was so relaxing drinking coffee on the porch, watching deer/ nature, enjoying a fire and reading. Very centrally located - 1/2 mile to Douglas beach and minutes to Douglas/Saugatuck. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to come back in the future.

A modern house in a Beautiful setting

LakeBreeze cottage is a new house with comfortable and ample outdoor (and indoor) spaces to enjoy the lake location. It is a short walk to see the lake (100 feet below), but requires a drive to get to a beach. The kitchen is basically equipped and has modern appliances. Likewise, the two baths had the basics. The four of us who stayed there had plenty of room to relax. We would suggest that visitors be told to bring beach towels, and certain other items for vacation enjoyment.

Peaceful retreat

Lake Breeze cottage is in a very quiet neighborhood with lots of wild life. The screened porch was our favorite part about this property. It was so peaceful sitting back there listening to the birds and feeling the breeze. The cottage had more than enough space for our family and there were lots of extra beds for other families that may have more people. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated with lots of sunlight. We walked and rode our bikes to the beach each day and there was an endless amount of places to go in the nearby area. This was by far our favorite vacation rental we have stayed in!

Great for family

We stayed here in August. We liked the location a lot. It is not in the center of activity but it is not far off either. It is about a 7 minute walk to Douglas Beach. The beach is well used but not over crowded. It is a short drive to Saugatuck and all that shopping. It is walkable to Downtown Douglas, about a mile. The house is clean and very will stocked. We found all kitchen utensils we needed (although there was only one teaspoon size spoon) and the outside grill had propane. We loved the porch and deck. We enjoyed our week at Breeze Cottage

Lovely home in Douglas, Michigan

This is a lovely property and Christy was very responsive to our questions. The space enabled us (and importantly the teenagers) to spread out and have some individual spaces. We enjoyed walking along Lakeshore Drive. We appreciated all the ways it was stocked -- towels, kitchen supplies, paper products etc. We didn't end up using the new fire pit - but we appreciated the wood bundle they had dropped off for our use. With such unexpectedly nice early April weather, it was a delight to eat on the screened in porch and to enjoy the porch fireplace. Given the time of year we visited, we did not plan for beach access. But renters should note that while the property is within walking distance of Douglas Beach, Douglas Beach has recently had erosion issues. During Summer 2020 it was closed to the public. Unclear whether that will be the case for Summer 2021. Of course, there are other really great beaches within driving distance -- Oval Beach and Saugatuck Dunes State Park. We visited both on this trip, enjoying the contrasts.

Wonderful holiday getaway

We had a lovely Thanksgiving at this Douglas house. It’s a peaceful spot, with many deer wandering about. The house is very nicely appointed and comfortable. Super clean as well. Overall a great rental.

We have been vacationing here since our kids were very little, and jumped at the chance to purchase Lake Breeze! We love the village feel and the lack of commercialism in the Douglas/Saugatuck area. It is the perfect place to destress, slow down and enjoy Lake Michigan!
