BEFORE SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST: Please note that Casa Chamisa is a unique adult-friendly quiet sanctuary that is not suitable for children or pets and all guests and visitors are required to be registered by adding their names to the reservation. By booking this home, you and your registered guests are agreeing to the House Rules (see below) which includes a maximum # of adults allowed. Guests are strictly not permitted to invite non-guests onto the property without prior permission of host. A fee of $150 per night for each non-registered guest will be charged and the reservation may be cancelled without refund if this rule is broken.

WELCOME to Casa Chamisa, an Oasis in the Desert
THE LIVING ROOM is adorned with beautiful Santa Fe style viga ceilings, a traditional Kiva fireplace (decorative only) and original artwork. Enjoy watching TV on the Smart TV via ROKU or log into your Netflix or Amazon account for your favorite shows.
THE KITCHEN is in the heart of the home (and our favorite room in the house!) and is fully stocked with an arsenal of kitchen tools, gadgets and appliances that would make any chef proud. With plenty of room to move around, there is a stainless steel center island workstation on wheels, custom built cabinets, gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and a stainless steel French door frig with 2 ice makers and filtered water.
DINING ROOM share meals at the large modern live edge wood table which comfortably seats 6.
BEDROOMS
1 - THE MASTER SUITE can be closed off from the rest of the house for extra privacy and quiet. Enjoy a restful sleep on a King size luxury mattress with100% cotton high thread count sheets, down bedding and black out curtains for when you want to sleep in. En suite master bath with large walk in shower and double sinks and lots of shelves and storage. Ample closet space and Elfa drawers available to unpack your belongings for longer stays. Connected to the master suite is a private office nook with a small desk and ergonomic desk chair.
THE SECOND BEDROOM features a new King sized luxurious medium firm mattress on a mid century modern style platform bed and 100% cotton high thread count sheets, down bedding and blackout shades.
THE COVERED PORTAL accessed from the back of the house via the dining room, this private space provides a covered outdoor space in which to dine and relax. An outdoor sink and two ceiling fans create extra convenience and comfort in the summer months. Enjoy breakfast outside at the modern dining table.
WORKING REMOTELY: many guests have opted for a longer stay while working remotely. In addition to two dedicated workstation areas, we have high speed internet and an Eero Pro mesh Wi Fi system to boost the wifi signal throughout the property. UPS and FedEx come directly to our door daily and a drop off for both is a short few blocks away.
BEACH TOWELS are provided if a visit to the local hot springs or lake is in your plans.
WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM provides filtered water throughout the entire home. Feel free to drink directly out of the tap!
COOLING - provided by a ducted evaporative cooler with screened vents in each bedroom area to circulate air throughout the house. Built in vents are in each bedroom which pulls the cool air through from the kitchen ceiling vent so no need to open windows. In the hot summer months, we recommend keeping the cooler on at all times to keep the inside temperature constant.
PARKING/HOUSE ACCESS:
There is one dedicated off street spot in front of the house. Additional vehicles can park on the street in front of the house. Other than on the street or in front of the house, there is no boat or trailer parking.
GUEST INTERACTION
Casa Chamisa is the main house on a large gated corner lot. We lovingly call it 'The Compound.' Next door to the main house is a another adobe casita where a family member lives (she's an artist and teacher). When in town, the owner lives in a separate unit located on the property and is available for any questions or concerns via phone or text (or in person), but will give you and your guests space and privacy you during your stay and will enter the house only if/when requested.
PETS on PROPERTY we have 3 rescue dogs on the property but they are inside their own respective fenced areas. No additional pets are allowed on the property at any time for any amount of time.
SECURITY CAMERAS - There are two outdoor security cameras on the property: 1) near the front door and front parking area and 2) one in the back courtyard area

WHEN MAKING YOUR RESERVATION please let us know you've read and agree with the following common sense Rules as we do enforce them to ensure a 5 star experience for everyone. If any of these rules are broken, there will be a fine and likely cancellation of the reservation without refund.
PETS and CHILDREN
Pets are not allowed. Casa Chamisa is not suitable for children.
REGISTERED GUESTS
Before the reservation is confirmed, we require the name(s), contact information and vehicle (make/model/plate) information of each individual guest staying on the property during the reservation.
VISITORS & EXTRA GUESTS
Guests may not bring any unregistered guests or visitors to the home at any time, for any length of time without prior written permission of the host. Any non-registered guest not previously approved by the Host on the property will incur a $150 per person per night fee and your reservation will be at risk of cancellation without refund.
SHOES: We request that guests remove their shoes upon entering the home.
SMOKING and VAPING: Smoking/vaping OUTDOORS only is allowed and an ash tray is provided (pantry). This includes cannabis use and vaping. Please dispose of all extinguished butts in the trash receptacle.
SMOKING or VAPING INSIDE will incur a $1000 charge taken out of the security deposit
CIGARETTE BUTTS discarded and found on the ground outside will incur a $100 charge taken out of the security deposit
CANNABIS USE: Recently, New Mexico, passed Recreational Cannabis use, which we support. We ask that you enjoy responsibly and remember please smoke outside only (including vaping).
COLOGNE, PERFUME and AIR FRESHENERS: Cologne and perfume products can linger in the house for days after checkout. Please keep our home as fragrance free as possible. An extra cleaning fee may be imposed if steps are required to eliminate strong odors before the next guest arrives.
Under no circumstances are minors under 18 allowed to be alone in the home.
NEW GUEST REVIEWS: Making a reservation at Casa Chamisa requires at least 3 positive reviews on the main guests profile before a reservation is approved. If you don't have 3 reviews, we'll ask that you to tell us a little more about yourself and your guests in your inquiry.
The home is located in a tranquil quiet neighborhood with wonderful respectful neighbors.. We appreciate considerate guests who are conscious about loud outside noise during their stay.
