Best host ever

From the start of exiting the flight Nicole was very helpful on giving train to bus directions. We accidentally got dropped at the wrong location and Nicole offered to come get us with her personal vehicle which was only 4 blocks away but we opted to walk it. The apartment was very cute very homey and a washer/dryer was available for use before we boarded our cruise. If I ever go back to Seattle this will for sure be my place always. This apartment is a 20 minute bus ride to down town Seattle safe area very cute little town. I can’t give this place a more 5 star review! Best communication I have ever experienced!

Clean, quiet and calm!

This is the perfect place to come back and relax after exploring Seattle. They have all the amenities including a full kitchen to help make your stay feel like you are at home. The neighborhood is great with walkable places to eat and get drinks. Hosts are so nice and offered great suggestions!

Cozy hideaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Nicole and Kurt’s. They were very welcoming and accommodating hosts with great communication. Everything was clean and cozy and we had everything we needed for our stay. The neighborhood is pleasant and has some fun restaurant/bar options within walking distance.

Perfect spot for stay in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood

I highly recommend this property. It is a lovely, comfortable apartment with a superbly well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and linens, and a private well lit entrance. Nicole and Kurt are wonderful, helpful hosts who have thought of everything you may need. Nicole provides clear instructions for your check in, stay and departure, and she responds promptly if you have any questions. The location is very convenient for getting around in Ballad on foot or by car, and public transportation to downtown Seattle is a short walk away. I look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Seattle.

Lovey home away from home in Ballard

I really enjoyed my stay in Ballard. Wonderful, quiet neighborhood with everything you need within walking distance. The property was exactly as advertised with lovely hosts. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Seattle and I will come back on future trips.

Perfect spot in Ballard

This was a perfect location for our stay in Ballard! The apartment was more spacious than expected, very clean and had everything we needed. It is exactly as described and more. It was a short walk to the restaurants, shops and farmers market. It was also very easy to hop on the bus and head into downtown Seattle. We very much enjoyed our stay and will be booking this location on our next trip back!

Home Away From Home

My husband and I stayed at Nicole and Kurt's Hummingbird Hide Away for two weeks in July 2023. From the moment we entered, we were delighted by the roominess of the Hummingbird. The 'spaces' of kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and living room were all separate rooms and not a studio as one might have thought. Every square inch of the place was well thought out in terms of clever use of space and all was spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable, there was a workspace available for remote work, and the kitchen had everything one could possibly need for any meal to be prepared. Nicole and Kurt were excellent hosts and it was obvious that they both enjoy their role welcoming guests to their lovely Hummingbird. The location within Ballard couldn't be better with a grocery store, restaurants, retail, and parks all within walking distance of half a mile or so. We took the bus to downtown Seattle twice and it was around the corner and right on time. We did have a car because there are so many wonderful day trips throughout the area and there was always a parking spot available in front of the Hummingbird. The cycling throughout Seattle and the greater area is wonderful and, it wasn't the easiest thing for them to do, but we were very grateful that Nicole and Kurt kindly stored our bikes overnight for the two weeks we were there. It was a wonderful stay and I hope we will have an opportunity to visit again.

Peaceful Ballard Refuge

A peaceful neighborhood location that served as a great base of operation for adventures in Seattle. The attention to detail is remarkable. If you find yourself thinking "This place should have X", X is probably there in the drawer you'd expect to find it.

I enjoyed my stay at this property. The location is accessible by public transportation. Whenever I wanted to use an Uber, they were available within 1 to 2 minutes. The host was very accommodating, warm, and easy to get along with. If you are a swimmer, the Ballard pool is an excellent choice. The pool is located about a mile away. I was unaware of this pool, and the host recommended it to me when she found out that I was traveling to downtown Seattle to go swimming at the YMCA. The apartment is clean has great appliances. I highly recommend this apartment. It is located in the basement, so there are stairs.

We are an easy going, active, fun loving, couple in our early 60's.
We love living in the beautiful PNW for the beautiful mountains and all the water activities. Boating, hiking, biking, walking, exploring, wine tasting, enjoying good food and hanging out with our year 6 year old grand daughter is what we love.
We are avid Short term rental travelers ourselves and have outfitted our apartment with just about everything you need and want for a comfortable and joyful stay.
English and Dutch speaking, we enjoy hosting visitors from all over the world and have been host for over 8 years 😁

We appreciate the walkability of the neighborhood to shops, cafes, bars, theater and more.
Yet the apartment is tucked away in a quiet residential and safe neighborhood.
A walkers paradise as it is referred to often, close to a public beach (Golden Gardens), waterfront and a 20 minute car/uber drive to DT Seattle

Plenty of street parking always available right in font of home too.
