Wonderful beachside condo!
We stayed a month at this Beachplace condo and enjoyed everything about it. The condo and especially the view from the balcony are even better than in the photos. It's spacious, has all the expected amenities, everything works, and the underground parking right by the elevator lobby is super convenient. There is even a luggage cart and shopping cart to the right of the lobby entrance - a nice touch, and this tells you something about the luxury of the property. Beachplace has well-kept landscaping, a nice big pool, a gym, and several convenient walkways to the beach. The property provides umbrellas and chairs right on the beach.
As luck would have it, during our stay we did go through a hurricane and unfortunately red tide as well. This is no fault of the property, but be aware red tide can be present and adversely affect your stay. However, even at the worst of the red tide, enjoying the view from the balcony and swimming in the pool were no problem at all.
The location is excellent - secluded yet anything you need is nearby. On the island there is a supermarket about a mile away, a couple coffee shops, a deli, and several excellent restaurants (reserve a table early). St Armand's Circle is just a few minutes away and offers many restaurants and shops, and Sarasota is just a few more minutes over the causeway.
Our host Michele was punctual and very pleasant, and responsive when we made a couple requests, including fixing a loose faucet in the kitchen. There are areas where the unit could use improvement. Some of the flooring is a bit old, and as a previous reviewer commented it could use just a bit more attention to cleaning and upkeep - eg, old caulking in the shower, the oven needs cleaning, some carpet stains. However, it's my understanding Michele is making improvements to the unit and I'm sure it will be even nicer than when we were there. We didn't see any bugs at all (a real challenge in Florida). I would rate this unit 4.5 stars if I could and my few criticisms shouldn't keep anyone from renting this unit and meeting the wonderful host. I highly recommend this property, with the only downside being that it could spoil you compared to other accommodations!
