This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath canal front home which is perfect for a family getaway. It sleeps 10 people at an affordable price with lots of amenities to make you feel more like our house guests than vacation renters!

The house has an open concept kitchen, dining room and sunken living room. The kitchen is fully stocked so plan to make some great meals to eat at the large dining room table, the breakfast nook or poolside. If you prefer to grill, the “grill master” can choose to use the large flat top gas grill or the smaller charcoal grill.

There is a split bedroom arrangement. The master bedroom has a king size bed and sliding glass doors leading to the pool. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and the third has a bunk bed with a full mattress on the bottom and a twin mattress on the top. There is a full mattress under the bed that can be pulled out if needed. The closet is stocked with toys and games so we like to call this the “kids room.”

The private solar heated pool (chilly during winter months) is enclosed by a spacious lanai with ample seating for the whole family to eat, sunbathe, watch the kids swim or read a good book. If the night is a little chilly you can sit by the fire in the separate outdoor patio.

After you launch your boat or jet ski from the public boat ramp across the street it’s only a short ride to the canal where you’ll find the dock with the small boat lift and jet ski floating dock. Fill your beverage & fish coolers with ice from our 250lb ice machine and you're on your way. Please note that the canal can get shallow during low tide but I was able to easily maneuver my 27’ boat to the deeper water.

Restaurants, shopping and the historical town are just a few minutes away. Crystal clear springs, nature trails and parks are close by for the outdoor lovers.

This is where you want to stay in the summertime for some great scalloping, the winter time to see the manatees and to escape the cold if you’re snowbirds and all year long for some phenomenal fishing!

Great location

This is a great location to site see for the manatees and the natural springs. There is not a big beach close by, there is a small park with a small beach which is nice but no pets allowed. Very good restaurants and live music close by. Very nice neighbors in a very quiet neighborhood. The house is nice with lots of room. Pool area is very nice too. Also a bonus that they allow your pet. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to that area.

Beautiful place

This lovely place was just as advertised. Beautiful, clean and very well stocked with everything you would need. The property was very private with the fence and hedge. The pool was so pretty at night with the lights. We loved the kayak to paddle the river. Biked around the neighbourhood and walked the trails of the state park. We definitely would go back!

The Turtle House

The Turtle House was a fantastic place to spend a week in Crystal River. The location was great. A couple minutes to everything in Crystal River and a 10-15 minute drive to Homosassa. The house itself had all of the amenities we needed. Was nicely decorated as well. We used the pool but it was a cooler week and the water was chilly but well taken care of. We will definitely stay here again if we are able to get back down there to snorkel with manatee again. The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had for them. Thanks for a great trip.

Wonderful location with all the amenities!!!

I can't think of a single thing that we could possibly have needed that wasn't there. We highly recommend Natures Discovery for Snorkeling with Manatees. The Buiscuit barn is a short bike ride away and the go-to breakfast spot you don't need to try another. For a fun afternoon or morning for 13 or less per person, try the Homosassa Spring State Park. It's a mini zoo with manatees, feedings, and education only about 16 miles from the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Nice Getaway in Crystal River

The house was terrific. Clean and homey. Kitchen was well stocked. The griddle/grill was fun to use and the Ice machine in the garage was perfect for icing down the cooler. The ramp to the boat dock was a bit steep for us old timers, so we put in and pulled out everyday at the extremely convenient boat ramp a couple of blocks away. We caught the cold weather, so no pool time for us, but we loved the 15 minute cruise to Crystal River and caught plenty of fish. We'll be back.

Fall mini vaca

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle House. It’s conveniently located close to shopping and restaurants. The kitchen is well equipped and there were plenty of herbs and spices available if you’re inclined to cook. Also, if you forget to bring your own, coffee was available until you can get to the store. It was obvious that many homes and businesses had suffered considerable damage from Helene. It was heartbreaking to see Crystal River in such a situation but we were glad to be able to enjoy the beautiful fall weather at this rental!

Huricane retreat

Already planned vacation that happened to be right after milton. We decided to to go ahead and keep our vacation even though we lost electricity at our house and there was flooding going on. Great place well equipped with plenty of towels dishes spices everything you really need for home away from home. Also The Kayaks were great everyone had a blast out on the water. The pool seems to have had a problem with a leak but it was very nice size. There were very friendly Neighbors.The Neighbors there are great and although we stayed during a hurricane we met them for a little while and they were absolutely friendly. I plan on staying here again. And the family really enjoyed it

Amazing house and location!

We absolutely loved this house. It has everything you could possibly need. The open living room space that leads out to the pool and then the boat dock was so convenient….and the master bathroom shower, ummmm yes please! Grouper Season Fishing Trip

Excellent property that was well maintained. The commercial Ice machine was awesome as well as having an additional garage refrigerator. Great deep water access with quick trip out to offshore. Stayed in a 26' cc cat with no problems but it would be tough with a boat any larger. Weather was rough but the fishing the house were great.

Annual Scallop Trip

The Turtle house did not disappoint. We have stayed a few times. Lots to do in the area. We always bring our paddleboards to use in the canal and at the various springs. Scalloping was horrible but maybe next year will be better.

Another Wonderful Stay

Our family has stayed at the Turtlehouse before and this time was just as great as the last! We love being able to put the boat in right around the corner and dock right in the backyard. It is a long way out to the river so we always take a dunk in the pool before jumping on the boat. The ice maker in the garage is a wonderful money saver as well! We will always come back to thehouse!

Fantastic Family Vacation

We had a fantastic family vacation with our adult children. We took our boat which we were able to dock behind the house. It was nice just being able to hop in the boat and go. We caught lots of fish and ended our days swimming in the springs and or the nice refreshing pool!

Restful time in the sun!

Such fun! So relaxing! The pool was wonderful, the kids didnt want to come out. The patio had wonderful shade and fans and made a perfect place to supervise. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked easily. The grill was just fun. My first time using a Blackstone but I’m sold. We kayaked in the canal, fished, hiked Crystal River Preserve State Park, swam at Fort Island and saw manatees at Hunter Park. We had a wonderful vacation. The house was cool and comfortable and had everything from night lights to beach towels. Thank you so much for such a relaxing trip. Huge fans from North Carolina!

We grew up in Florida and currently live in High Springs which is a little over an hour from Crystal River. We’ve made many visits to Crystal River and fell in love with the area. It’s been the perfect place for a getaway to do some of our favorite things. We’ve had great times boating, scalloping, fishing, snorkeling, swimming and spending quality time with our family. Owning a house on the water was on our “bucket list” so we’re excited that we’ve been able to buy the Turtle House and can share our love of the area with others.

Crystal River has the laid back unhurried ambiance that we enjoy and we already knew we wanted to purchase a house there. The Turtle House has all the amenities we were looking for and we’re enthusiastic and excited about this new chapter in our lives.

Location, location, location! The house is just a few blocks off of US 19 in a small quiet neighborhood with great neighbors, the public boat ramp is across the street, the water just off the dock is a great place to kayak/ paddle board, and there’s direct gulf access via a short beautiful boat ride.
