Spectacular Location

With a small lake on one side and the river in the other, it made water activities extremely convenient. The fairly remote location made for a quiet and relaxing weekend. Would highly recommend this property.

Quiet, Tranquil Stay

My family (plus pup) has a great stay at this property. Everything was as pictured, and the cabin was very clean. We enjoyed the fishing and the kayaks for a week away.

Loved The Lake House

We took a long weekend and stayed at The Lake House for the first time. This is a wonderful place. Peaceful and quiet, we enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the water. It was clean and comfortable and felt like home. Highly recommend!

Serene Getaway

This was a really nice getaway for my husband and I for a few days. The cabin was very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed going out on the lake on the paddle boat. There were so many turtles and they were fun to watch. It was just a nice, quiet place to recharge for a few days.

Wonderful Lakehouse

Loved the location!

We loved our stay in the Lake House. The photos were very accurate, and the whole place was nice and clean. We saw so many turtles and frogs in the pond and our daughter loved the paddle boat. It was also easy to use the dock on the Wapsi side to get our canoe in and out. It is a very peaceful, quiet setting but still close to the conveniences of town. We hope to return!

Great private lake getaway

Great place for a weekend getaway. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The location is great with a private lake on one side and a river on the other. Plenty for everyone to do. We were able to fish and play outside with my toddler. Great place for all ages! It was a nice short trip for us and just what we needed!

It’s was freezing cold and snowy while we stayed there. It would be amazingly fun there in the summer, but it is absolutely peaceful sitting out in the deck while it was snowing watching a bald Eagle fly by. I will absolutely rent again!

Very relaxing

We had a wonderful stay. It was private, quiet, and relaxing. The setting is beautiful. The house is comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. The house has splendid views on both sides and has multiple windows to enjoy the scenery. The one item that would have made the views better is if the windows had been cleaned.

We had a wonderful time. Very quiet and relaxing. Wi-Fi worked fine. The 2 tv's in the living room areas worked just fine but could not get the tv in the bedroom to work. Overall it was a very enjoyable and relaxing time. Sure we will be going back again.

Father's Day

We went to get away from work and let dad and the boys get in some time together. We fished, we used the paddleboat, ran RC cars, watched some movies, and just had good family time. The house served the purpose we rented it for....nature, family, and space. We had a really good time and made great memories. Owners were super easy to work with and information was freely and easily shared and made everything so easy

Wonderful stay!

We had a fantastic time staying at the lake house! The privacy of the lake was unprecedented. The house has seen a lot of memories, but provides very comfortable amenities on the inside and out. Everything we needed to enjoy the outdoors (firewood, picnic area, deck, dock, kayaks, etc) we’re all stocked and available. Loved the ribs and burgers we made on the smoker, all around fantastic weekend, dogs had a blast too!

The Lake House, nestled on the banks of the Wapsipinicon River and Goose Lake in Independence, Iowa, has been a part of our lives for many years. As our lives grew busier, with boys growing up and our jobs demanding more of our time, we realized that we couldn't enjoy The Lake House as much as we did when the boys were little. So, we decided to share our part-time love with others.
