The Whimsy Hill Treetop retreat is a quaint one bedroom upstairs unit located on 8 acres in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. Completely renovated, this apartment has all the amenities and comfort you would want for your hill country visit. Sit on the front deck or at the resort style pool and enjoy miles of views (Pool is open from May thru October).

Full kitchen, comfy queen bed with hotel linens, washer/dryer available, high speed internet, snack basket and all the fixin's (mix, butter, real maple syrup) for waffles or pancakes! Close to everything but in the country. Enjoy your stay!

Bee’s Knees

I rented this property for my sister in law and brother in law who recently lost one of their daughters. The family gathered at nearby Guadalupe State Park. The property was absolutely perfect. The description online matched the reality. The decorations were well thought out and the surrounding property was beautiful and serene. Could not have been more pleased. The owners were very sweet .

Bright star in Hill Country

Whimsy Hill is the bright star for our visit to the Hill Country of Texas to see family. Beautiful property, easy to find but secluded and very comfortable. It’s our home-away-from home. Nate is super responsive and ever so helpful—a great host.

Wonderful Retreat

This quiet, gorgeous property is situated high in the Texas Hill Country, with beautiful views from every side. The cabin is extremely clean and the decor is just stunning. It feels brand new, and it offers every possible convenience, from Alexa music to many Keurig coffee and tea options. The tasty snack basket was an unexpected treat that we enjoyed. We didn’t get to see much wildlife, but it was a quiet, restful and memorable sojourn in a part of the state we like very much. The owners are responsive and easy to communicate with. We will be back!

Wonderful Whimsy

This property was absolutely lovely. Quiet and peaceful, beautiful views from both the house and swimming pool. Tucked away in the Texas hill country, a true gem and must stay. We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary during our stay. Nate and Beth were extremely nice and attentive, making sure our stay was to our satisfaction. Charming place!

The perfect place

I don’t know what the origin of the name “Whimsy Hill Retreat” is…but it works! We were in town for an event at Cordillera Ranch, which was minutes away. Enjoyed Boerne, also! The cottage is decorated so nice & they have everything you need! Only two regrets I have for the weekend… The first being we couldn’t stay longer !!! The second, I had left a bag with “my life” in it…checkbooks, jewelry, house plans, medication, MY MAKEUP!!! Realizing 3 hours down the road it was missing, I frantically called Nate, the gracious WHR proprietor. He found it & kindly overnighted it to me the next day! I felt so dumb but SO relieved! Love me some Whimsy Hill!

Loved our stay in the treehouse!

Getting to stay in this beautiful guest cottage up among the trees made us feel like we were in a magical treehouse! It was so quiet, peaceful and relaxing! The views were quite expansive, and yet we were close to the adorable town of Boerne. The place was immaculate and the host really thought of everything. We felt very cared for!

Great Retreat

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Nate and Beth were great hosts! They were very responsive to our questions and made us feel welcome on the property. The guest house was comfortable, clean, and well-provisioned. The view from the porch was great, and the fire pit made for a relaxing evening outdoors. We would highly recommend staying here, and hope to come back as well!

Our Stay

We enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect for us and quiet, nice, updated property. Instructions from owner were thorough. It was nice having a VRBO that had toiletries for us to use as well as a basket of snacks and coffee.
