Small but lovely in the heart of Sarlat

This is a lovely apartment and very conveniently located near one of the large public parking lots - a detail we appreciated. We appreciated the responsiveness of our hostess, the comfortable beds, washing machine, and well-stocked kitchen & baths. It's in a beautiful spot and a great home base for exploring Sarlat. The main drawback has been mentioned by other visitors: the stairs leading up to the apartment, especially the second set, are winding, steep and difficult to navigate with luggage, particularly for our group of 70-somethings. We managed and it is possible, but it's a factor potential renters should be aware of.

Our stay in Sarlat

The property is totally in keeping with its surroundings in medieval Sarlat, yet with all modern amenities. It was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay. Two things however, firstly the website states there is parking on site at the property. This is not the case as it is inside the medieval centre and parking and indeed cars are very restricted. The closest car park Ricaudie is quite expensive. We found free parking three or four minutes walk away in Chemin du Plantier. The apartment two flights up a narrow winding staircase which for older people or those with slight mobility issues could prove a bit of a challenge. We felt this should have been mentioned on the website also.

Quaint. Good kitchen. Quiet.

The fountain outside added to the experience. We cooked truffles and pasta one night. The apartment was spotless. Winding staircase was a challenge, but I always over pack. And I’m 74; my best stair climbing days are behind me. We took the train in and walked to the apartment; I swear I’ll pack less next trip. And of course got lost, but people were helpful and got us on our way. We didn’t have a car, but took a tour for one day away from Sarlat. Check out the tours from explore24. This is a wonderful apartment and a wonderful village.

Appartement parfait !

C’est la troisième fois que nous venons à Sarlat et la magie opère toujours. Cet appartement est idéalement situé, charmant et très cosy. Nous avons adoré y passer quelques jours et nous y reviendrons avec plaisir pour un prochain séjour. La propriétaire nous a donné beaucoup de renseignements, c’était parfait !
