Perfect getaway - Cottage on Osoyoos Lake! Short term rentals allowed!

Welcome to paradise! The Cottages on Osoyoos Lake boasts a sandy beach and marina, a community center with multiple pools, and hot tubs. We are located at the north end of Lake Osoyoos, nestled in between several vineyards and cideries and downtown Osoyoos.

Please note, the new short term rental restrictions do not affect our cottage.

Our luxury home features 3 large bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, open concept living and a fully enclosed, sun porch, that will comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. Our outdoor patio is equipped with a luxurious patio set and fire table for you to relax at the end your day with a glass of wine!
Need to bring your work with you? A dedicated work space is included as well!! Between the gorgeous Okanagan summers, and the cozy winters, our cottage is the perfect destination year round.

Review

Beautiful home, well maintained. Does not have a lakeview, as advertised, that was disappointing. Pool was closed, no explanation on the doors, owner did contact us and told us why. The whole complex was very quiet and it was a restful stay. The beach is nice, but having no shade is unfortunate.

The house was clean, bright, spacious and well-stocked. It was the perfect place for our family…6 adults and two youngsters. Avril was quick to respond to any questions we had. We enjoyed the shared amenities…the grounds and the pool. The cottage had ample beach equipment for our use. It was a very good choice for us.

Perfect family vacation

We really enjoyed this vacation rental. We were 2 families with 2 young children each and it worked very well for us. Extremely clean home with stocked kitchen (all of the dishes/tools we needed to cook for 8 people the whole time) and plenty of extras such as a wagon to carry stuff to the beach, lots of beach towels, a fire pit, some lawn games, etc. We thoroughly appreciated the property overall as well with the pools (including the shallow pool which was perfect for our 3 year old), the quiet atmosphere, extensive lawns, playgrounds, and the great beach. Oh, and proximity to great wineries didn’t hurt either!

Amazing place

We were 7 girlfriends who have been friends for 36+ years who stayed here to celebrate turning 50 this year.. we had an amazing time. The house has everything you need (except to go drinking cups). The pool area is great and the beach was awesome. We had an amazing time sitting around the firepit in the evenings. A wonderful place.

We have just returned for a wonderful and relaxing vacation and we stayed at the Osoyoos Cottages. Our place was amazing, fully stocked, home away from home. It was spacious, airy and very clean. The “cottage” is spectacular It is a large and modern 3 bedroom house that had everything we needed. It included beach chairs, towels, wagon etc. AC worked well which was appreciated. Avril had left a welcome package with treats and wine and toys for the kids. She was in touch with us to make sure that everything was ok. And everything was ok. Nothing negative to say. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Get away!

This house was super clean and well stocked with everything one would need! It is a lovely quiet neighbourhood! The beach looked great, unfortunately we had bad weather ,so we didn’t take advantage! We had a great stay!

Early summer vacation

We loved our stay at the cottage. It was a summer dream come true. We loved having breakfasts in the solarium, mid-day retreats inside the house to cool down and the proximity to the pool and lake. Our hosts welcomed us with the sweetest little welcome package for us and our kids and the house was super well equipped with games, little bikes, pool toys and a wagon for transportation. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for a fantastic week.

Summer Vacation Get Away

The Martinette Cottage exceeded our expectations in all areas. The home is like new, extremely well kept and immaculate. The Owners have a very high standard of care for their property and it shows in the details ranging from the Welcome Package at check-in to the quality of the furnishings to the little details such as good and sharp kitchen knives and plenty of fresh ice in the freezer. This is definitely a five (5) star property. Avril was always there and responsive to any questions we had and even out did herself by solving a tech problem we were experiencing connecting our phones to the home stereo system via bluetooth. This was our families first time staying at the Cottages on Osoyoos Lake and our only regret was that we didn't find this place sooner. In addition to the Martinette Cottage the private community has great amenities for both kids and adults and we felt welcome and part of the community despite not being owners. Our only negative experience was that for a reason unbeknown to us we had to book the home and pay in USD. For a property in Canada owned by Canadians we felt this was a bit of an extra cash grab, however when I compared what we paid overall, including the unfavourable exchange rate, we were in line with what other cottages in the same development were charging and in many cases I think we paid slightly less and are adiment that none of the other properties are as well appointed and managed as this. Once we realized this it was no longer a distraction. Looking into bookings for next year we see the property is now listed in CDN$ so this should not be an issue for future renters. If you've read this far what are you waiting for - book it. You won't regret it.

Our home for the week

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Martinette! We've been to Osoyoos a number of times and had always wanted to stay at the Cottages in Osoyoos and Martinette did not disappoint...it was nice just like the photos and very well decorated. The cottage was clean, well appointed with good quality big and small appliances, kitchenware and most things you needed. I really liked the plush towels. Our family of five adults and my two grandsons enjoyed BBQing on a number of nights and eating in the enclosed porch area where there are big windows with screens so you can open for fresh air. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent like OFF as this year's mosquito season is very bad due to the long and usual rainfall in the area this summer. We also bought Citronella candles to use when sitting outside to ward off those pesky insects. Avril is a good communicator and always prompt to respond to my text. Thanks Avril for being a great host!

Amazing place and stay

We booked this property for one week. The owners were fantastic and communicated with us throughout the whole process. When we arrived the cottage was clean, well kept and very organized. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Our children loved the house and we had a great time as a family. The location of the house is good also. It’s close to the entry point and a 5 min walk to the pool and beach. I would recommend this place to anyone and will be looking forward to coming back.

Wonderful Family Cottage

Our family very much enjoyed the stay at Avril and Ken's cottage. The home is very spacious, clean and was nicely stocked when we arrived with goodies. The amenities are amazing with the pool, hot tub, and lake nearby. We would absolutely come back to this cottage in the future and would highly recommend it as a place to stay in Osoyoos.

Perfect location

We rented with several friends for a self directed wine experience. Excellent location for driving and biking through the beautiful golden bench and black sage area with many excellent wineries. Host was very quick to respond to questions and the cottage was clean and well stocked. We stay mostly at VRBOs wherever we go, and this location was one of the best. Didn’t bring our 10 year old on this vacation but also great spot for those with kids. Would definitely book again.

Perfect Family Getaway

My family and I had a stellar stay at Avril's cottage on the lake. We were 2 adults with a 3 year old, a 2 month old, and a set of grandparents. We were greeted by a clean, cool and beautifully decorated home, and a lovely welcome gift of snacks, wine and even an adorable sand toy for my kids. Avril's communication was top notch, even before our stay - response time was lightning fast by text and VRBO chat. The Telus TV was glitching one night and Avril had Telus phone me directly to resolve it in minutes! The cottage is an easy, scenic 7-15 min drive to most wineries/restaurants/grocery shops. Easy 8 min walk (and stroller/wheelchair friendly) to the main pool and beach (no need to rent a golf cart at all). The pool area consisted of a main pool, a splash/kid pool (2 ft. depth) and a couple of hot tubs. Just walking through the grounds was quiet and calming, really well-kept. The cottage itself had everything we needed (just bring your own oil for cooking/BBQ) -- we thoroughly enjoyed morning coffees and sunset dinners in the sunporch. There is a set of stairs leading up to the 2nd level so I would bring a baby gate if this is a concern. We had enough adults to watch/make sure it was safe for our toddler. The grandparents appreciated the bedroom on the main floor for easy accessibility. Our 3 year old enjoyed the grassy backyard by the sunporch as well as the playgrounds on the property. We appreciated the sanitizers scattered throughout the cottage as well. Can't say enough good things about Avril's cottage. When we return to Osoyoos, we won't hesitate to book with Avril again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful!

What a cozy little cottage! We’ve stayed at a lot of places and this one was so well stocked. They had everything you could need, even bikes, a high chair, and a little carry cart to take things like chairs and towels down to the lake. Overall it was a lovely stay and we’d definitely come again!

Awesome Place

From start to finish this was a perfect stay. Great communication, simple check in, amazing views and lovely, clean, comfortable place. There were 5 of us on a wine tasting getaway. The thoughtful basket of goodies when we arrived were much appreciated. The kitchen was well supplied for the nights we cooked and lots of room in the living room for us all to watch a movie and visit. Having the master bedroom on the main floor was great for my older sister and the girls loved their rooms upstairs. And a powder room on the main floor was great to have in addition to our master bathroom. We love Osoyoos/Oliver area and it has become our annual wine destination. And Avril’s place is our best so far. We will definitely be back. And we’ll probably add another day. 3 days of wineries is enough but we need another day to enjoy the facilities at the cottages.
