Quiet, residential, clean in-law apartment, minutes from I95. Private entrance on ground floor, with bedroom (king bed), bathroom, kitchen and living room with queen sized sofa pull-out. Off street parking right outside the door, central heat and air, high speed wifi and lots of fresh air. The apartment is spacious yet cozy, and fully appointed. Linens, towels (baths & beach) and kitchen wares are supplied. Also available: beach chairs, large tote and small cooler.
Attached to family home on 1st level with private entrance and owners on site.
4.5 miles from I95 in Scarborough, just south of Portland.
This is a great spot to visit the Portland, Freeport outlet shopping, Maine Mall area with Shopping, restaurants and several beaches nearby.

Maine getaway

Our stay was fantastic. The property was so peaceful and off the beaten path. It was very cozy and clean. Exactly as descibed and the hosts were great. Even though we were in the apartment attached to their residence we did not k ow they were there unless we needed to communicate with them. It was the perfect place for out getaway.

Peaceful stay

We really liked this place. The scent of pine and surrounded by trees was very private. Although attached to a larger home it was as though they weren’t home. We used the location as a hub to be able to get anywhere north or south in 20 minutes. The inside was exactly as pictured. Very comfortable space.

Great stay!

The hosts are helpful, and the place was lovely! Loved the outdoor space. It was so beautiful at night. Not a far trip to Portland or other places if that's what you're looking for. Would 10/10 recommend.

Scarborough Apartment

Nice little apartment close to every thing! Amenities were as described, bed very comfortable, good shower and very quiet neighborhood. Owners were responsive to a small issue with hot water faucet in bathroom - they fixed it promptly. There is not a washer and dryer though and I missed having this as we had a 16 day stay. Other than that, everything was perfect.

First trip to Maine

Property was outstanding. Beautiful home in a lovely quiet neighborhood just a short 15 minute ride to Portland or half hour ride south to Kennebunkport. The apartment was well equipped with every thoughtful convenience. Sorry we didn't get a chance to see Lisa or Jim maybe next time.

Clean place, nice neighborhood

We had 4 adults stay comfortably. This is a very nice neighborhood and we felt very safe during our stay! The apartment had some essentials during our stay (shampoo, coffee pods/creamer, condiments), which was nice. There was an issue with the water during our stay, but Jim and Lisa were fast to respond and the problem was resolved within a few hours.

Quiet and very comfortable

This location exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and quiet. The hosts thought of all the details including quality beach towels and chairs, coffee, and high-speed Wifi/TV options. I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful property, quiet and private! We really appreciated this especially being close to everything we wanted to see and do. Jim and Lisa were wonderful hosts. They were responsive when contacted. Great stay!

This apartment is in a beautiful area just 20 minutes from downtown Portland. This was the last leg of our trip and we knew we wanted to spend a day in Portland and a day in Kennebunkport. This location was perfect for accessing both. The owners are great communicators and they offer the perfect little extras - charging stations AND cords next to both sides of the bed. That’s thoughtful! Coffee too. A little bonus…. A sweet little dog named Fenway will let you cuddle him if you’d like. And if not, he’s cool. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

A clean, comfortable, and spacious place!!

This lovely 1 bedroom “in-law” type setup is perfectly arranged for a comfortable stay. It is a bit off the beaten path but chances are if you’re in Portland for the nightlife you’re not going to be looking to stay in Scarborough. It’s very quiet. There is good WIFi and the separate Apple TV units in bedroom and living area are a nice touch. The kitchen is very well appointed, with plenty of dishes, glasses, and utensils and even condiments, cooking oil, and spices if you’re inclined to cook. The AC works well for hot days. The bed is comfortable and there’s a ceiling fan in the bedroom. There are motion activated nightlights strategically located (although I turned off the one in the bedroom since it came on when the fan was going). The towels were thick and luxurious and the shampoo and shower gel dispensers were convenient (conditioner was not provided so I bought some at the Hannaford). The shower was fine, a bit lower in pressure than ideal for me but not unacceptable. I didn’t use the grill or the fire pit. The power to the whole neighborhood went out while I was there and the owner responded immediately to my communication to let me know (nothing they could do but I appreciated the communication) and it was back on by the time we got back from lunch. All in all a very pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend!

Great getaway

We spent a great long-weekend in this clean, comfortable, peaceful rental. The space was thoughtfully prepared for guests so we had everything we needed for a care-free stay. Located in a beautiful neighborhood, it was an easy drive to restaurants, beaches, and beautiful Portland. King-sized bedroom was very comfortable!

Fantastic place!

The place was fabulous, every amenity you could want. It was quiet, homey and centrally located to so many things within 1 hr in every direction. Although on site, it was as if the hosts were never there - unless you needed something - in which case they were very responsive. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. What a value (we almost didn’t want to say that, for fear of it becoming too popular that we can’t go back). Would very highly recommend!!

Amazing Home Away From Home!

We are a Maine family living in a great location near the coast of Maine. Our in-law apartment has been mostly vacant for 5 years although we have hosted occasional friends, family and Portland Sea Dog baseball players. We have 2 teenage boys and we've enjoyed traveling and staying at VRBO properties when we can. We enjoy the many activities and opportunities that Maine has to offer and think that you will too!

Our home is on a quiet lot in a busy family neighborhood. You can enjoy peaceful privacy surrounded by nature at your 'home base' and spend very little time getting to local beaches, downtown Portland and outside adventures of all types. As on site owners we are both respectful of privacy and available for any questions or concerns that may arise during your stay. The private entrance, complete amenities and proximity to all Maine has to offer mean that you can have as peaceful and relaxing visit as you'd like (plugged in or unplugged), or you can head out and experience 'Vacationland' in whatever fashion you choose.

The apartment is cleaned and sanitized thoroughly between visitors. We take sanitation very seriously and you will not have contact with us unless you need something or would like to talk about local attractions during your visit.
We do have two teenage boys who may occasionally play basketball or whiffle ball on the property. If you'd like to join you're more than welcome. On these occasions they will not be out before 10AM or after 8PM. If the noise is an issue, at any time, please let us know.
