A unique find, this eclectic period Townhouse offers exceptional living just a stone’s throw from the Geelong CBD, hospital precinct and the picturesque waterfront. Providing the charm of yesteryear with a luxury/modern twist, this double-story Townhouse offers 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, 2 Living areas, a private garden oasis and off-street parking for 1 car. The lower level comprises a lounge room, kitchen and dining room and a large bathroom with a freestanding bathtub, open shower & toilet. Upstairs boasts another living area, a Master Bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a second Bedroom. Other features include hydronic heating, split system heating/cooling, exposed brick walls, high ceilings, ceiling fans and much more.
With a variety of boutiques, eateries and the Geelong Train Station all within easy walking distance, the location is perfect for a stylish Geelong retreat.
The Space:
Enjoy this charming period home with a luxury/modern twist.
Expect some creaking stairs, hydronic heating/cooling, gorgeous interiors, TVs for entertainment and a charming outdoor patio.
Downstairs you will find a full Kitchen & Dining area, a huge Lounge, the front door opens onto a private garden and the back door to a private patio area. The downstairs Bathroom has a free standing bath, shower and toilet.
Upstairs you will love the 2 Bedrooms both with hanging space and plenty of room. The Master Bedroom has a King Bed and ensuite bathroom. The 2nd Bedroom has a Queen Bed. Please note the 2nd Bathroom is downstairs. There is also a charming living area upstairs.
You will love the location. Situated adjacent to the city centre, the house is walking distance to all of Geelong’s key attractions; from the bars and eateries on Little Malop Street, to the Barwon River - a place for watersports, walking, cycling, fishing or just relaxing, from the Kardinia Park Precinct and the GMHBA Stadium - home of the Mighty Cats, to Geelong’s Arts Precinct with galleries, performing arts centres and ARM’s award winning Library. Experience the vibrant and ever popular Pakington Street shopping precinct or soothe your senses in the serenity of the Botanic Gardens to the east.
Please note: we would like to highlight some of the quirks of our Gable House that you need to be aware of.
At present there is no washing machine or dryer but we intend to rectify this shortly.
The 2 Bedrooms & living area upstairs are accessed by a staircase. There are no stair gates & is an old wooden staircase, we recommend this property is not suitable for children or adults with mobility issues.
We hope you are appreciative of the eclectic nature of this heritage home.
Guest Access:
You will have access to the entire townhouse with off-street parking for one car. Please beware the maximum height limit is approx. 2 metres. For those vehicles higher than this you will need to use the free on-street parking just off Hughie Lane
The Neighborhood:
Enjoy some great walking tracks along the Barwon River which wraps around Newtown. There are hundreds of beautiful Victorian and Edwardian houses, and several historic mansions, including Barwon Grange, west of the river and the Heights heritage house and gardens. Skilled Stadium and the Kardinia Aquatic Centre are within 5 minutes walk. This townhouse is only a short walk to the shops, cafes & pubs on vibrant Pakington Street.
Getting Around:
Off-street parking for one car and on-street car parks available in side street.
You are a 10-minute walk to the main Geelong Train Station.
Centrally located, Gable House Geelong is a 10 minute walk to Skilled Stadium. It's an easy short walk to all the boutiques, cafes and hotels in nearby Geelong CBD or Pakington Street.
A little further is the beautiful Barwon River walking trail.
