The cabin site on 26 private acres surrounded by cedar trees, a pond and southern Indiana's rolling ridges with expansive views. Equipped kitchen with stone fireplace and hand-crafted cabinets. Cozy living room with vintage parlor stove, digital TV/DVD and sleeper sofa. Queen pillow top bed upstairs. large full bathroom. 2 covered porches, rocking chairs, porch swing, Hammock, Gazebo with outdoor napping bed. Fishing pond and outdoor shower. Lovely!

The cabin was adorable! Very comfortable, private and quiet. Every time we turned around we found something else about the cabin that we hadn’t seen before, including this morning when we checked out! We hope to visit again and again.

Wonderful hideaway

We loved the little cabin off the beaten path. It's a beautiful area, very quiet and seems like you're far away from civilization and the real world. It's a great getaway to unwind and rest.

If you like a different kind of rental, rather remote, picturesque, quiet and private, this may be for you. 1800's cabin atmosphere with enough modern amenities to be very comfortable. A good "get away from it all" place.

Love this cabin!!

This was our second stay at this cabin. The setting, the view and the cabin itself are just perfection. Very clean and well stocked. Absolute peace!! Will definitely return next year.

Had an amazing time

We had such a great time! The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook, we also enjoyed the camp fire. Everything was clean and comfortable. Got to meet the neighbors dogs twice and they're so nice! Thank you so much for letting us stay.

RUSTIC CABIN IN MADISON, IN

WE ENJOYED THE SECLUDED SETTING OF THE CABIN. SAW DEER AND ALL KINDS OF BIRDS AND SQUIRLS. WE EVEN HAD TWO FOUR LEGGED VISITORS COME THAT IS THE PLUS THINGS. IN THE CABIN, HARD TO WALK AROUND WITH ALL THE DECOR . WE WERE ALWAYS AFRAID OF BREAKING SOMETHING. SOFA AND RECLINER IS BROKE DOWN VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. NO DOCK LIKE PICTURE. WOULD HAVE LIKED TO FISH FROM AS PLANNED TO DO. ANY WALKING ISSUES NOT THE PLACE TO GO..ROADS GETTING THERE VERY NARROW AND CURVY. BEAUTIFUL PLACE WE ARE OLDER AND CAN'T ROUGH IT LIKE THAT.

We loved our stay! The house is charming and perfect for two people. We loved sitting on the porch swing listening to the fountain in the pond and watching the sunset each night. We loved the quiet and peaceful location. I hope to return next year!

Peaceful getaway

The cabin is very rustic with decor from much simpler times. Waking up in the morning in the cozy loft to that awesome view was just what we needed. It was very clean and had everything we could want. The property is absolutely beautiful and so well cared for, we really hated to leave. The only negative was the roads you had to navigate to get there, but it was so worth it. I would highly recommend this beautiful property.

The cabin was very well kept, clean and in a great location. It was quiet and relaxing, just what the Dr. ordered but didn't last long enough, we will be going back in the future. Everything is there for a comfortable stay, my wife and I really enjoyed it!

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods

My friends and I unplugged and escaped to the woods to have a girls trip without kids or spouses so we could connect with nature and relax! This cabin was absolutely beautiful and everything that we hoped it would be! We will definitely be coming back! Also, the neighboring dogs who come to visit are so sweet and beautiful!

Rural, quiet, & restful refreshment

Melissa has thought of almost everything for your stay. Please know that this property is 30 minutes on very curvy country roads to the nearest grocery store. Having said that, we loved it! I grew up in a house that was also rural in this way. Two suggestions that I would make: 1. Bring some portable fans for a summer stay, and 2. There are hiking trails on the property, and you will need long pants, hiking boots, etc. Melissa has provided walking sticks for your use. The back porch, overlooking the pond, is a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee and lots of wildlife viewing... especially for those of you who love birding!! Thank-you, Melissa, for your hospitality and your helpful written instructions throughout the cabin, to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We appreciate you!!

Ive always wanted to live in a log cabin. Tom purchased the cabin as a 20th wedding anniversary gift. Thus begin my Inn Keeping days. I’m a retired realtor, Health nut, honey gram to 8 Grandkids, beekeeper and a GRITS gal. (Gal Raised In The South). 2 years after we purchased the cabin I became sick and was misdiagnosed for over several months. Stage 4 lung cancer (never smoked) 4 months to live! That was 4 years ago. God is good and I’m still here enjoying the cabin. Its been a lot of hard work and I truly believe there’s healing in nature. To everything there is a time and a season. So here I am living my best life enjoying every second. Offering up my little cabin so guest can find the same peace and healing I found. I’m so blessed to be here, to own this little piece of paradise and to share what’s really important in life.

We spent the next 2 years cleaning up the grounds, developing a website www.Francineslogcabin.com, improving the cabin interior. We added the bedroom dormer 3 years ago, new furnace, AC, water heater, napping bed in the gazebo, recutting the original trails and septic system. The cabin was relocated from KY and restored onsite. All the downstairs flooring is reclaimed poplar wood planks. The stone fireplace was from one of the first mud and straw houses in Switzerland county. All the kitchen cabinets have hand carved Hinges and are made with reclaimed wood. Ive always been a big antique/junker so the cabin is decorated with years of digging and junking. Most of the furnishing came from shopping my own house. Once you turn down the driveway Its just a storybook setting and you can literally feel the stresses of modern day fall away. I promise you won’t be disappointed
