Enjoy all that Muskoka has to offer at this beautiful lakefront property on Lake Vernon, just outside the town of Huntsville.
KJM Muskoka offers 4 bedrooms (plus an office/bedroom with queen pullout), 5 bathrooms, a fully-renovated chef’s dream of a kitchen, three fireplaces including a floor-to-ceiling Muskoka stone fireplace in the main room and a gas fireplace in the master bedroom, a screened in Muskoka room for your bug-free enjoyment, a gradual-entry real-sand beach for easy access into the water, and a two-floor boathouse with magazine-perfect panorama views of the lake.
Sitting in a picturesque Muskoka setting, the cottage is 2 hours from Toronto (less from the north suburbs), and only 10 minutes from the town of Huntsville.
The 4-season cottage boasts all the charm of a traditional cedar log cabin, yet includes the modern amenities you’d expect from a high-end rental property, including: top-line appliances (fridge, gas range, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer), a 65” big-screen tv, GOOD wifi, ceiling fans in all upstairs rooms (for the hot summer days), an energy efficient wood stove (for the cold winter nights), a cedar plank sauna and indoor jacuzzi tub, and a King-size bed in the master suite.
The top floor of the cottage includes the kitchen, a living area with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and three of the bedrooms down a separate hallway. Two of the upstairs bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Downstairs offers a second entertainment space, an office with desk and pull-out sofa, the screened in Muskoka room, the sauna and a large master suite with its own fireplace and walkout deck. There is an outdoor fire pit area off the muskoka room which is the perfect spot to roast marshmellows and enjoy the view.
The lake itself is crisp and clean. Lake Vernon is a beautiful, large lake that makes up one of four lakes that connects over 40km of water. With a hard-packed sand bottom close to shore, and deeper water for jumping at the end of the dock, it offers summer fun for the whole family. A canoe and kayak are available for your enjoyment for use on the lake.
There are practically endless seating options around the cottage property with great vantage points of the lake, including a deck off the main floor, a 2nd private deck off the master suite, and a fully-enclosed room on the 2nd floor of the boathouse with a cute bar area and a couch to lounge on. But truthfully, when you aren’t in the lake, you’re most likely going to be spending the majority of your time on the 2nd floor boathouse deck. The lake-view pictures we’ve included in the photos were mostly taken from that deck…in the summer months, with the sunset falling behind the treeline, it’s stunning.
Despite the idyllic setting, we’re only 10 minutes from the center of Huntsville (by car – you can also walk along a river path to town within 45 minutes, and can even canoe right into the downtown docks within 30 minutes). If you are looking for a trip away from the lake (or from cooking), head into town and take a stroll up and down the main street, where there are cute restaurants, breweries, shops, and ice cream parlours. For those looking for more exploring and adventure check out some of the following: Arrowhead Provincial Park which is only a 15 minute drive away, offering hiking trails in the summer, and an outdoor skating rink and snow tubing in the winter; Algonquin National Park is also only 30 minutes away offering incredible hiking, camping and canoeing. Hidden Valley ski hill offers winter fun for the whole family and is only 15 minutes away. For the golf enthusiasts there are several courses nearby. Your days can be filled with endless activity or endless relaxation. The choice is yours.
If you are looking to experience Muskoka at its best, this cottage has what you are looking for. We would love to welcome you to stay, relax and enjoy at KJM Muskoka.
Best,
Matt and Jor
