Die Scheune ist modern und eigenständig, eingebettet in die Hügel oberhalb der Blueskin Bay, nur 15 Minuten von Dunedin entfernt. Genießen Sie die Ruhe Ihrer ländlichen Umgebung und die atemberaubende Aussicht, während Sie die örtlichen Strände, das Kindergartencafé, die Kunstgalerie und das Ökosanctuary optimal nutzen.

Die Scheune ist der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen und Erholen. Es liegt versteckt in völliger Abgeschiedenheit, umgeben von Busch, Ackerland und bezauberndem Vogelgezwitscher.

Perfect Dunedin get away

Just 20 minutes away, the perfect weekend get away if you live in Dunedin. Situated on the hills overlooking Waitati and nestled in native bush.

Peaceful Country Stay

A lovely welcome and very comfortable stay. Quiet and peaceful surrounds. Comfortable bed in a beautiful room on the mezzanine. Kitchen has a full oven and stovetop. Shops are a distance away so good to take meals,bread etc. Allan provided fresh eggs for breakfast.

Worth the distance from town

Taking a teen to university is a busy time, and booking late didn't help, but Alan's greeting, to confirm that we were at the right place, was wonderful. His handy hints, like keeping the upstairs bedroom door closed from the fire downstairs, was invaluable. Spacious, luxurious, stunning views. A great place to stay,.

The Barn

This Bookabach surpassed our expectations- it is the best bookabach we have stayed in. Fabulous setting- so peaceful and Alan our host was very welcoming. Our dog Ruby loved the stay too. We will be back . Highly recommend.

Quirky, characterful place

This simple, remote, barn style property is peaceful, secluded and does the job. Alan, the host, was great: very helpful and friendly and the fresh eggs were much appreciated. It is 2km up a gravel track but it’s easy to drive and worth the climb for the views. Arc brewing (at the Warrington turnoff) is worth a visit if you like craft beer!

An interesting, great place to stay

We were very impressed with the beautiful and very peaceful setting. Our host, Alan, was absolutely great and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We would recommend. One small thing to know is the last 2 kg of road, or so, is unsealed. We hired a car and probably would have got a bigger one if we had known. This is small in the scheme of things, but worth knowing about. We would certainly visit again.

Home away from home

Absolutely Outstanding!! We spent a week for our honeymoon here our hosts Alan George & Bella have out done themselves the barn has gr8 energy with a refreshing relaxing aura it feels earthy with a cosyness that feels like a warm hug. We had our Bluetooth speaker as we arrived we were like yeah nah wel leave that in the car the radio was on when we got inside i unplugged that too it was quickly apparent the local tui amoung others had tunes of there own for us and at night the morepork the owl speachless. Theres pegs, clothes rack a laundry basket T,paper, Towels, sheets, blankys, a hair dryer, iron & board, vaccume, kitchen tidy bags and pet poop bags there for us guests to use and milk in the fridge. Alan will probley advise to shut the upstairs bedroom door if you have the fire blazing trust me you will melt if you forget to shut it hehehe.The barn is so close to one of our fav cockle/clam spots and good surf casting spots nearby which makes the barn an ideal spot to vacay.The huge plant upstairs so lush & beautuful, light fixture over the dining table is super cool, sofas are comfy, lamp in the lounge is a awsome night light for the early hours toilet run. The bed upstairs is great for your back you will sleep like a baby! Thank you for having us, the accommodation and location was amazing, and such a unique place. We loved the peace and quiet. The barn was very clean, with everything that you would need supplied. A lovely cosy getaway

After not visiting Waitati for over 10 years, my sister and I were excited to spend a couple of nights there. We were welcomed warmly by Allan and the dogs, and given a bowl of free-range eggs! The accomodation itself was tidy, warm and very comfortable, with all the amenities you would need. The views of nature out the windows were just perfect. More than anything, it felt like a home away from home and I can't wait to come back and stay there again. Thank you for a lovely experience!

Fabulous 2 Night Stay

A great short 2 night stay with our two little dogs. It was easy to find and not far out of Dunedin, with great views. We received a warm welcome from the hosts (and enjoyed seeing the chickens, pig and sheep close by). We loved the fire too! Thanks.

We arrived in heavy fog in the evening, we were met by the hosts and shown around, the fire was going and the whole place was toasty. Great Getaway

We had such a wonderful stay at The Barn. Don’t let the name fool you as this is a lovely, modern, well-appointed space. The hosts were terrific and we enjoyed meeting all their animals, including Arnold the pig! The place is secluded, 2 miles up a dirt road, but only a 20 minute drive into Dunedin. Nice local restaurant also just a few minute drive away.

Surrounded By Nature

A beautiful, native tree/bush lined driveway led us to The Barn, where we were very warmly welcomed by the hosts (gorgeous fur babies included). The Barn is homely and characterful, spacious and beautifully presented, with everything we needed to prepare meals, relax and refresh ourselves for our journey ahead. Thank you so much Robert.
