Charming lake front cottage with expansive deck and unbelievable views of Lake Michigan, just steps away to the beach. Recently remodeled, this cottage is bright and clean with a lake-front master bedroom and bath, and lake-front living room and kitchen. All bedrooms (two with King beds, a double, two twins, and a sleeper sofa) as well as the main living spaces are on the main floor. There is also a game room with TV, DVDs and a DVD player on the main floor. High speed WiFi included.

The lower level offers the convenience of an extra full bath, a washer and dryer, an extra refrigerator/freezer , and a sitting/game area.

There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to take in the amazing surroundings.

This cottage is indeed right on the water and we have a great beach for 2023 ! 120 foot frontage with a wide sandy beach for swimming, splashing, snoozing. Sunsets included!

Lovely family trip

This was our third trip to the Lake Front Cottage Retreat. It’s the perfect family home, with everything you need to be comfortable. The owner is very responsive to all our needs or questions. The beach was spectacular!

Great view

The house was very comfortable and we all enjoyed bringing our dogs. We loved the closeness to the lake and ease of getting to the beach. Unfortunately, the whole week we had freezing cold lake water and green slime, which prevented most people from going in the lake.

Lake Michigan Cottage

Property was amazing! Very clean and plenty of room for all ten people and pets. The house was exactly as described on the listing and the beach was great! We enjoyed the local area and loved the markets and restaurants nearby. Will definitely be back and hope to rent the same house. Thank you!

Love everything about it

We were super excited to see a dishwasher had been installed! We had a great stay. Beds are super comfy and linens are very nice. Plenty of room for 4 teenage boys to spread out and our dog absolutely loves his life for the week.

Wonderful family home

Back by popular demand, this was our second trip to this home. You cannot beat this location for amazing sunsets and a beautiful beach. The house was very clean and well stocked with all the comforts of home. It easily accommodated our family of 8. Jim, the owner, was quick and responsive with communications. Definitely a 5 ⭐️ rental.

Beach is worth the price

The beach for this property is amazing and we loved it. No AC is not the best especially with air quality being poor some days. Bring lots of fans to move air around. Downstairs bathroom needs work.

Another great beach week this year!

After staying last year we decided to stay at this lovely cottage again this year. The house is light and airy and not musty like some other beach houses we’ve stayed at. It is well stocked with beach towels towels and kitchen essentials.the deck is wonderful for dinners and sunsets. We enjoyed a fire one night in the fire pit.The few steps to the large beautiful beach is an easy trek for all. Again we enjoyed long walks along the beach and both calm and wavy water days. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us once again!

North Cottage

We’ve been going to the lake for over 30 years and our overall rating of the beach at the house is A+ and probably the best beach we’ve enjoyed ever. Right with North Beach in Pentwater. We have to give the house a c though. Front entrance from driveway had a fair amount of trash around bins; No A/C , which I missed in listing, is a deal breaker. When it’s hot the window vents do not ventilate the home well. Rude neighbors. Overall, because of the beach and our desire to have fun no matter the situation, we’ll say B grade.

Lake Michigan View

The cottage was bright and the view of Lake Michigan was beautiful. The access to the beach was really nice and there were not many people on the beach. The basement which I did not use except to come and go had an odd odor and seemed to have a dehumidifying system that worked continuously. Small problem with fruit flies in the cottage and they seemed drawn to the garbage disposal. The approach to the cottage makes it look a bit abandoned and since it was okay for dogs it might have been nice to have a little patch of grass for them. Those are all little things, my stay was very nice and fairly comfortable. Thanks for the Michigan beach vacation.

Quiet and Beautiful

This is a great quiet spot for those that enjoy the beach. Our weather sucked in part due to the Canadian wildfire smoke, we have bad luck! The home is a good size for my wife and I with our grown children and their little ones. It was well kept for an older home and some nice upgrades were done on the mail floor. If you are big on cooking at home, you may want to bring everything you count on. The kitchen materials are dated and limited. There are ceiling fans throughout the house and if the temps are moderate they are ample to kill the heat. There is no air conditioning and had no issues but high temps were in the seventies. Would do it again.

Beautiful views, excellent beach!

We had a great time on our trip! James was very easy to communicate with and was able to let my parents in to the cabin when they arrived before us and the code wouldn’t work. The views cannot be beat and you couldn’t ask for a better beach. We loved watching the sunsets each night. Comfy beds too! Some additional feedback: if you have toddlers or mobile babies, the deck doesn’t have a rail which means constant vigilance while you’re out there. Kinda makes it hard to relax haha. The cabin doesn’t have AC and on warmer days the afternoon sun makes the cabin VERY stuffy so bring fans. There are ceiling fans but some don’t reach top speeds. Suggestion to the owners would be window treatments for the kitchen/living room windows to help cool off during the hottest parts of the day. Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation, and we thank the owners for our lovely stay.

Best Lake Michigan Beach and Sunset Views

What a great place! The magnificent views of Lake Michigan from the deck were spectacular. We were lucky that the weather was perfect and we experienced 7 sunsets! The rooms are vary spacious and enough to accommodate our family comfortably. The kitchen was a bit small, but we made it work. The beach is absolutely wonderful! It is easy access and large in width and length making it feel very private. Prefect for early morning walks. The sound of the waves can be heard from most of the rooms and are very soothing for sleeping. The wonderful ambience of this lakeside house all combined for us siblings/spouse to be able to withstand each other for a whole week….a whole week! Just kidding. A truly awesome place. Thank you from our entire family…,The Russman’s James was also very helpful in responding to the many questions we had prior to our arrival. Thank you James for sharing the comfort of your home!

Fantastic Vacation

Our family of five stayed here with our two dogs and we had the best week to close out summer vacation. The location was great. Quiet, quaint community with markets and restaurants nearby. The house was well equipped, comfortable, and clean. The beds were super cozy and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was the best. It was a pleasant surprise to find a great supply of dishwasher tabs, dishwasher soap, trash bags, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash at the house. I’m not sure if that was the owners or past guests, but based on the oversized containers, I’m guessing the owners. Such a nice touch! We cooked a lot and the gas Weber grill was fantastic. The kitchen had everything we needed for quick, easy summer vacation meals. I even noticed a crock pot tucked in one of the cabinets. We enjoyed many campfires and stargazing, which resulted in catching many shooting stars. The beach this year is spectacular. Lots of room to run and play and just have fun. Plenty of room to walk in either direction too, which our dogs loved as much as we did. We had fun exploring where the river meets the lake about 3/4 of a mile south down the beach. Jim, the owner, is super responsive and was great at answering questions in advance of our stay. Thank you for sharing this great home with us! We hope to be back next year!!

Fantastic

My husbands family and I have tried to come to Michigan every year since that’s where they grew up. This has been the best place we have stayed. Fully outfitted with kitchen supplies, even had a crockpot. Great views and owner was awesome. Will be staying there again!

Fantastic beach week on Lake Michigan

This house on Lake Michigan checked most all of our boxes. Super close to the water and a large beach. The water was cold our week but that’s Lake Michigan and we were able to kayak and paddle board on calm wave days. We were able to take long walks in both directions. We utilized the fire pit for an evening fire. The deck and grill were great. The house was spacious and the kitchen well stocked. Everything was clean and it wasn’t musty. The best for us is that it is pet friendly and Lily enjoyed herself immensely-swimming in the lake and hanging out with us. Super easy access to the house and very clear house rules and expectations. Also really appreciated the local market restaurant and other local info! The only downside is no air conditioning. There are ceiling fans and we brought 3 fans but if it was much hotter (it was 75-80 while we were there) the afternoons would have been pretty muggy inside for some in our group. Thankful for our family time at this wonderful place!

Wow! The view is stunning.

First of all, the view is beautiful of Lake Michigan! You have a very clear view down over the water, which was captivating as soon as we arrived. We spent every evening watching the sunset and mornings sitting on the deck with coffee watching the sunrise. The pictures don't do it justice. We absolutely LOVED our stay here! The house was clean and the decor was nice and more updated. We appreciated they had extra beach towels for use and even shampoo/conditioner in the bathrooms! We slept in the xtra King room and gave the Master to my in-laws, and we both agreed that the mattress was very comfortable for sleeping. Each closet had a cube organizer which actually was great and helpful. We were able to put away clothing items and organize better with that. The walk down the water was minimal which was lovely and there were about 100 feet of sand which gave us lots of space to set up our beach stuff and let the kids run/play in the sand. Even with the other neighbors at the beach and the public beach access a ways down, we felt secluded and loved having our private area. The outdoor shower was wonderful to have and rinse off the sand. Many times we just gave a quick shower to our kids outside. We appreciated that all rooms had ceiling fans. We were lucky that the weather wasn't too hot except for the first day. The first day was a bit rough being in the high 80's with no A/C but we managed. We wished the top windows opened up to allow more of a breeze - they open at the bottom which doesn't help circulate the air much so on the first day, it was very hot in the house and for sleeping. We also wished there was a railing on the other side of the stairs from the basement to the top floor. We have small kids, so we were concerned they would fall and made sure to keep a closer eye on them around the stairs. Other than those minor things, we had a fantastic time here and made a lot of great memories.
