The casa has the most amazing views both during the day and in the evenings. It is nestled high near to the Competa Pueblo Blanco in the Almijara Mountains. You are able to look across to Mount Maroma and then the surrounding landscape over several of the smaller pueblo blancos such as Sayalonga, Archez, Canillas de Albaida, Colmenar, the list goes on. Looking to the south of the terrace you can view the Mediterranean Sea and see down the coastline to Torre Del mar. On crisp clear days even across to Morocco.
The casa itself is built on 2 levels and is powered by solar panels on the roof, we are watching our carbon footprint and hoping to achieve as much sustainablility as possible.
The main house has a large fully fitted kitchen with a huge fridge and freezer, new oven and gas hob. The cupboards are full of all the essential utensils, crokery and plates. The is a small table and chairs to grab a quick breakfast and lovely original features. There is also air-conditioning in this room to keep it ambient for your comfort.
From the kitchen you walk into the bright and airy lounge and dining area. The views from this room are wonderful, with large patio doors and windows leading out to the covered terrace and pool area.
There is a large wooden table the comfortably seats 8 people for those times when you prefer to dine indoors.
The lounge area is very tastefully arranged and furnished with some unusual features, as well as a log burner and a LED TV with HDMI points.
There is also air-conditioning within this lovely room.
From this area there is a doorway which leads to the 2 upstairs bedrooms and newly fitted shower room with underfloor heating.
The master bedroom has the best views over the countryside, villages and across to Mount Maroma. There is a comfortable king-sized bed with Scandanavian mattress and linen, and a built in wardrobe. There is a ceiling fan and also air-conditioning between the rooms to keep the temperature moderated.
The second bedroom has views to the rear terrace and over the well stocked gardens. King sized bed and fitted wardobe and ceiling fan for your convenience.
Going back to the kitchen you can access both sides of the house, to the pool terrace with village and sea views or to the rear with mountain views and a large covered seating area to relax and recline.
The covered terrace by the pool includes an outside kitchen area with BBQ and dining area with Jamie Oliver Dining furniture with surprise features in the table - to be used for beer or drink cooling or even as a wood burner/grill. There is also a relaxation corner to just take in the views. Once seen you will never want to leave!
Stepping down from this terrace you are at the pool side, with loungers and chairs.
The pool can be heated on request prior to your arrival although not essential during the summer months,there is an additional charge of 100€ for the heating of the pool payable locally.
There is an outside shower for you to remove the oils before entering the pool and also when exiting. This area is not overlooked and you will have privacy to maintain your tan.
When leaving this area down a small flight of steps your come to the front of the house, turning right you can enter the lower apartment of the accommodation.
This has 2 further bedrooms, one with a kingsize bed and wardrobe and the other with twin beds and fitted wardrobe.
There is a shower/wet room in this studio with toilet and sink and shower and heated towel rail.
The studio has a small kitchenette where you or your guests can make drinks and prepare light meals. There is a undercounter fridge, microwave and washing machine for your use.
There is a sofa and TV in the studio for quiet moments from the main house with a selection of books.
The casa is located approximately 3.5 km in the campo (countryside) outside Competa in the mountain range. The road to the casa is mainly concreted until the last 400 metres but this is a maintained track and easily navigated.
The garden is fully fenced and the driveway has an electric gate for your privacy.
The surrounding villages have many bars and restaurants to dine, so you can easily eat out every day and sample the local cuisine at an affordable price.
This area is renowned for it's speciality Competa Wine and festival dishes of Migas, Paella and the sharing of the grapes.
Within the village of Competa it is possible to organise tours to vineyards, walking tours, boat trips, hire of cycles, jeeps, kayaks and many many more activities. We recommend that you pay a visit to the tourist office on the edge of the village by the bus stop, they have a wealth of knowledge and speak many languages.
The vibrant pueblo of Competa has several supermarkets , panaderias (bread shop) & pescaderias (fish shops) generally open from 9am-8pm daily, except Sundays and Festival days, so worth checking in advance. This area does respect the siesta time of the day 2-5pm so some of the shops maybe closed during this period.
You will also find hairdressers, beauty salons, clothing stores, farmacias, doctors and dentists within the village.
We are approximately 20km from the nearest beach, Algarrobo Costa, which is pleasantly clean and well maintained with many bars and chirringuitos for your fish tastes.
The journey from Malaga takes around 1 hour by car.
