Not worth the price
This property was way too expensive for what we got. I had no idea it was located in a rambling Amli apartment complex when I booked it. I wasn’t familiar with the Kasa business model, and I thought it was in a private condominium complex. Instead it is located in a behemoth Amli apartment complex. While the unit itself is nicely appointed, the experience of living in a tightly packed apartment was less than stellar and claustrophobic. First, they provided no luggage carts. Kasa guests must park in the subterranean area of the garage and then we had to work our way down a labyrinth of confusing, dark hallways until we found our flat and had to make numerous trips on the slowest elevator ever for several trips down to the garage to unload the car it and repeat until we left- which was two days earlier than we booked, as we couldn’t wait to get out. Being packed into an enormous building during Covid was unnerving and not what we’d expected. Our apartment faced 18th street and was LOUD due to the construction in the area and we were located above the rubbish bins, which in return welcomed a barrage of flies each time we opened the doors to the balcony. I didn’t read the fine print well enough, but the apartment comes with some super intrusive sound and smoke monitors. I am neither loud, nor do I smoke, but that seemed excessive. The experience is much like living in a glorified student housing complex with a nosy RA. To enhance my frustrations, they had closed the side entrance door closest to our elevator and as a result taking my dog out involved a long walk to the front lobby entrance or through the pool. While the weather was pleasant, we couldn’t enjoy the pool area as they had chained all the lounge chairs. I understand about Covid, but if you space that chairs apart and we are outside, I feel that’s much safer than riding on the elevators and walking the hallway mazes. For the price , it simply wasn’t worth it. Walking to LoDo was pretty far and rather sketchy due to the drug addicts and panhandlers lurking in the stairwells. My husband is 6’5 and very fit and even he felt uneasy, so we had to drive most times to LoDo. I’m admittedly have high expectations as a 40 something, so this just reminded me too much of college living. We had a VRBO last year nearby that was a private 3 story condo with rooftop terrace for half the price per day! Avoid if you want space & privacy & value.
