Dieses Haus liegt auf einem Hügel in den wunderschönen unteren Berkshires von Litchfield County und ist der ideale Zufluchtsort aus dem Stadtleben! Ein modernes Haus mit einem New England Bauernhaus Gefühl, umgeben von Rasen und Blumenbeeten, mit grünem Blick aus jedem Fenster dieses sonnenverwöhnten Häuschens. Es befindet sich in der Dreiecksregion von NY, CT und MA auf einer luftigen Anhöhe mit Blick auf die Heufelder und ist von Gärten mit Kiefern und Butternüssen umgeben. Das nach Westen ausgerichtete Deck, das Wohnzimmer und das Hauptschlafzimmer bieten einen Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang hinter den Heufeldern, wobei der indische Berg den Horizont definiert. Die Reise von New York City ist entweder mit dem Auto (1,5 Stunden) oder mit der Bahn. Der Bahnhof Wassaic ist 20 Minuten entfernt und die letzte Station der Linie Metro-North Harlem.

Im Herbst sind hier das Herbstlaub und der strahlend blaue Himmel der Saison zu sehen. Dieser Eintrag ist ideal für Besucher der Hotchkiss School gelegen. Für die Unerschrockenen ist der Appalachenweg für eine angenehme Tageswanderung sehr nah. Das Sammeln von Äpfeln und Beeren oder jede lokale Tagesaktivität wird durch gemütliche Abende am Kamin oder Flatscreen-TV im Wohnzimmer unterbrochen.

Der Winter im Haus bringt Gemütlichkeit auf eine neue Ebene. Machen Sie es sich am Kamin gemütlich und beobachten Sie den Schneefall. Wenn Sie ein Skifahrer sind, erreichen Sie Mohawk nach einer 20-minütigen Fahrt. Wenn Sie nach Norden fahren, sind Butternut und Catamount auch eine gute Wahl für ein Wochenende im nahe gelegenen Südwesten von Massachusetts.

Neben der Hotchkiss School (5 Minuten) sind Kent (20 Minuten) und die Indian Mountain School (10 Minuten) ebenfalls in der Nähe. Dieses Haus könnte nicht bequemer für Eltern sein, die sich für ein Wochenende ausruhen und einen Besuch mit einem Sohn oder einer Tochter vereinen möchten.

Das Haus verfügt über eine neu renovierte Küche mit modernen Geräten aus Edelstahl, Granit und einem 30-Flaschen-Weinkühler. Anderson-Fenster sind überall, Holzböden und Marmorbäder. Kabel-Service, Breitband-Internet und WiFi sorgen dafür, dass Sie immer auf dem Laufenden sind.

Wonderful place for a WINTER stay not summer as the downstairs of the house (kitchen, dining room and living room) is not air conditioned. The terrace is small and in full sun. We absolutely loved our stay in the winter. As a matter of fact we are staying there this winter again!

Perfect place

Busy running back and forth to Lime Rock for a car event, but able to enjoy a peaceful stay upon returning to the house. Highly recommend this house, but really don’t want to so I can have it all to myself, when needed.

Comfy home away from home

This cozy place gave us everything we needed in terms of being comfortable with 2 little kids. We'd stay here again in future, when needed. Mohawk mountain is few minutes drive and grocery stores are nearby too.

Perfect home away from home!

We were charmed by the view and the serene setting in a glade alight with fireflies at night and wildflowers by day. The house had every amenity, well stocked kitchen with many extra touches. Air conditioning in bedrooms made our stay really appreciated in the humid heat of July. Our family loved it and will come again!!! Great location for local wedding attendees 🥰

All around great stay/experience

We had an amazing stay in Sharon, CT! The house was beautifully arranged, clean, inviting, and cozy, just as described. Lannyl and Serge are great hosts and were very helpful and friendly in their communications, especially as we needed to adjust our dates. They even reached out when they found our daughters slippers which we left behind, and offered to mail them to us. We will definitely try to stay there again on future trips to the area.

Beautiful Northwest Connecticut Property

Excellent home on beautiful property. Perfect for quiet stay in a country setting. Picturesque "old New England" area. We stayed in January and house is warm and comfortable. Fire place in living room was awesome. Wood burning stoves in each bedroom is also a nice feature. Plenty of seasoned fire wood provided by owner. All needs were met. Owner was very flexible and accommodating and even checked-in with us during our stay due to impending snowstorm to reassure us driveway would be plowed timely and he was available for anything we may need. Would highly recommend this home.

Windows to nature

This was our second stay at this delightful house that brings the scenic masterpiece of nature from every angle through the multiple windows throughout the house. The large windows in the kitchen/dining room area were designed to capture the setting sun over the beautiful country landscape Serge, the host, is very hospitable and very responsive to communication The house is exceptionally clean , comfortable and equipped with everything one needs to prepare meals The surrounding areas are very picturesque and we had an excellent dinner at The Woodland in Lakeville where we have eaten a few times over the years and dies not disappoint. We also ate in Le Gamin fir lunch which was also very good and comparable to authentic Parisien fare We plan on returning next year as it keeps calling us back.

Nature bathing in Sharon

The moment you walk into this charming home, you are transfixed by the setting. The house is secluded in a serene and picturesque pastoral setting with a view of the mountains in a beautiful meadow brimming with birdsong, deer and rabbits and a bird ‘s eye view of the sun. All the large windows throughout the house capture the view in its essence. The house is airy and well lit by the light that filters in through all the windows Every amenity is thought of from quality appliances, pots , dinnerware, comfortable bedding and accommodations for whatever cooking utensil you could possibly need. The barbecue grill is new and has a large capacity This home is exceptionally clean and Serge and Lannyl were very responsive and gracious The four poster bed in the upstairs bedroom has a breathtaking view and a perfect way to be lulled to sleep. The photos on the website don t do it justice but it s always a nice surprise when a house surpasses your expectations. I plan on returning n the Fall for another spectacular nature show. Rosemarie M

Super property

While the house itself isn't notable from the outside, it is wonderful inside, and the view is incredible. The 2 main bedrooms, dining and living areas are large and pretty; there is even a separate wardrobe room off the main bedroom. Pretty patio overlooking a meadow and ,mountain, as do the common areas and main bedroom.The hosts have thought of pretty much thought of - and stocked - everything, (Including coviid self-tests, which we unfortunately needed.) We would definately use again.

Great place with an amazing view

A really great NorthWest CT home that we loved spending our holiday in visiting nearby family. The owner helped us coordinate our arrival (which is not easy with a toddler) and we enjoyed our stay throughout the two weeks. The West/SouthWest mountain views never get old and the home felt cozy even as the temperatures dropped. A great stay.

We like Litchfield County and have many friends with homes here. The county has a history of resisting development and preserving historic land and architecture. We like this. The conveniences are there, but somehow, tastefully done. If we ever need the big box stores, Torrington is not too far away, but far enough. We love the easy commute from New York City by train (Metro-North, Wassaic), which is a huge plus for a family with a many-layered schedule. The drive up from New York is very pleasant. Its not a parking lot on Fridays, like roads leading to the Hamptons.

The movie house in Millerton is a great place to see new releases, with two screens that are generally 'one for the kids' and 'one for the adults'. There is a great topographical diversity to the landscape; the Housatonic Valley, the lakes, the rolling farmland that suddenly reveals breathtaking vistas as you pass through it.

The house itself was built by a very energy conscious designer during the gas crisis years in the 70s. Insulated by the book, to augment electric heat there are 3 swedish wood burning stoves in the bedrooms, and a fireplace in the living room, which very effectively augment the ceiling radiated electric heating system. Lots of light pours into the house through many Anderson windows. All wood floors everywhere except marble in the baths and terra cotta in the kitchen. A previous owner was a landscape architect. The gardens include apple trees, pear trees and islands with decorative grasses, perennials, a bonzai and some aromatics.
